Swapped the drive over, but BIOS isn't picking it up at all.
Makes zero sense—both SSDs are M.2 NVMe, and I'm jumping from a newer Dell Inspiron to an older laptop.

Managed to pull the data onto an external drive via cloning—so that part’s done. Now I’m trying to move it over to the new laptop, but Akronis won't even see the new drive when I boot from it.
Trying it over USB is painfully slow, and honestly, that's not really what I'm aiming for here.
I'm wondering if it'll actually boot the system if I just swap the drive from the broken laptop straight into the new one.

Basically, I sat on my laptop by accident and trashed it—it still runs, but barely, and it’s got all my work and the register software on it.
A few years back, my old laptop was acting up with a dying drive. I used Acronis to make a backup—mostly just cloned everything over to a new card—and kept using the laptop without any issues.
I just picked up a new laptop; both run Windows and they're both Dell Inspirons.
Now I need to move the drive from the busted laptop into the new one so everything stays exactly as is—no messing around with settings or other headaches. Or maybe just a backup.
The Windows backup wouldn't load, and the Acronis backup/recovery didn't quite do what I wanted it to.
Anything specific I should watch out for?

In this mess of a country, you basically have no choice but to live on hope and prayer.
Keep every single receipt—parking, water, electricity... everything. Hold onto them for at least 10 years. Get some big storage bins and sort everything into smaller boxes before tucking them into the big ones.

Six years ago, I picked up an IBM Satellite—paid $1833 with macOS pre-installed.
It wasn't loaded with useless junk like fingerprint scanners and stuff, but it was relatively solid... well, it *was*. After six years, a key popped off, and I had to swap the HDD after four or five years because it just couldn't hack it—basically, it's toast.
Again, I'm not hunting for a laptop packed with unnecessary bells and whistles.
I need macOS too, but I don't want to blow more than $2000 on it. Cheaper works fine, obviously.
I’d love a 17-inch screen like my old one, but I can settle for 15 inches if that's what the price tag dictates.
An SSD isn't a dealbreaker, nor is a high-end graphics card. I’d prefer AMD, though not strictly necessary—mostly thinking about Photoshop since I might run it down the road, even though I do my photo work on a desktop. I’m looking for 1920x1080 resolution and a screen that's cleaner and brighter than that old non-HD IBM.

I remember reading a few years back that HP's quality dipped once they moved production, and apparently, some models have keyboards that tend to "bulge."
The main requirement is a decent keyboard.

Been having this weird issue behind my left knee for a few days now—feels like some kind of electric current or pulsing sensation. It’s almost like a vein is being pinched, and I can actually feel the blood flow struggling through. Like when you kink a garden hose and the water starts spraying out under high pressure. My job involves a lot of kneeling—laying tile—though I’m finally wrapping up this construction gig, so hopefully I'll be hanging up the tool belt soon.

So, I've got this 500GB external hard drive.
I used it to back up my laptop right before the internal drive kicked the bucket.
Right now, the thing is split into two partitions—about 100GB each.
What’s the easiest, most lightweight way to wipe it and get it back to its factory state—just one single 500GB partition?
The backup was made with Acronis True Image, but I don't have it installed right now and honestly, I can't be bothered to reinstall it—too much hassle. I figured there’s probably a simpler tool out there, maybe even something built into Windows.
