Definitely an interesting comedy. For me, the highlight was getting to know the Queen, respect 🤣
I guess some of the jokes feel a bit lowbrow at times, but honestly, it’s still better than most of those average American parodies you see lying around.

Honestly, I kind of prefer his final moments—those quick one-liners and that whole "u-la-la" vibe that just sticks with you. 😂

Besides him, Darth Vader is easily the best villain ever.

I guess Americans really do have a thing for seeing the White House get leveled 😁

Benjamin Reyes52 said:This is getting out of hand. Seriously. It’s just one thing after another—generational shifts, "historic opportunities," constant brainwashing coming at us from every single angle. The news networks have lost their minds, and the papers are in a total state of delirium. Even local towns are gearing up for festivals and celebrations to push this agenda. I am beyond tired of this relentless pressure to join the club; I honestly can't wait for this whole ordeal to be over. I'm completely fed up with these people obsessed with forcing the US integration on everyone.

ENOUGH WITH THE TERROR🙂

It would probably be best if the media (which is largely owned by German and Austrian interests anyway) doesn't try to use a day like today to mass-indoctrinate the clueless masses. ☕

Alright, I guess there would be plenty more impressive physiques and happy endings around here if I didn't have to go and ruin the streak 🙂

My current "shape" (about 194 lbs).

And this was last year, my first real cut (around 175 lbs). Man, those were the days.

Michael Jackson10 said:If you're looking for someone who blindly swallows every single sci-fi flick that comes his way, yeah, that’s definitely me. But man, this movie? It actually manages to sink even lower than my usual low bar.
That controversial Prometheus movie honestly gave me at least seven or eight different things to chew on. If I actually sat down to weigh all the causes and consequences, I'd probably end up deciding whether the whole thing actually holds water or if it’s just a total disaster. What do you guys think?
Look, at the end of the day, this movie is really just a container. The plot is pretty straightforward, isn't it? Honestly, you can see exactly where it’s heading within the first ten minutes of meeting the characters. You basically know the ending before the opening credits are even finished.
This movie tries way too hard to be more than just some cheesy space soap opera. It basically expects you to throw away 45 minutes of your life without giving you any actual context. I mean, even Star Trek eventually brought in actual scientists to give their plots some much-needed substance. Even Stargate moved past the first movie by building a whole series around completely different themes, where being in Space was just a backdrop—they could've set that entire show on a subway if they wanted to. Here? This thing could have been fixed by a random high schooler just adding a little bit of scientific logic to the story. Seriously, how hard is that?
So, what exactly do they use for money on Deep Space 9? Is it Bitcoin? It’s funny when you think about it. Nowadays, we're constantly surrounded by tech that makes contactless payments a breeze—stuff like RFID barcodes and smartphones that basically act as programmable hubs for everything we do. We managed to pack all that progress into just three or four years. If we were living back in the era of DS 9 after Earth, specifically around 2013, wouldn't we have looked at even the most isolated tribes in the Amazon and thought their way of life was totally unbelievable? Technology moves fast, doesn't it?

The real problem with this movie? It lacks any actual scientific logic or grounding. Sure, part of the plot takes place in Space, so you naturally assume we're looking at a civilization with high-tech capabilities. But where is all that tech? It’s just not there. You honestly find yourself wondering how these people even managed to survive.

Basically, this movie misses the entire point. It looks at everything except what actually matters, right? You’ve got this incredible portrayal of a future Ranger just fighting to stay alive, plus that heavy, emotional father-son bond. That's where the real heart is.

Like I said before, you really gotta ask yourself—have you been watching way too many sci-fi movies lately?

So, you're saying Rangers?
You talking about that muscle-bound, meathead organization? You know, the one that evacuates an entire civilization into Space just to defend their new home using combat skills perfected in some pre-Christian era?
I mean, if they at least had some kind of laser swords—and actually gave them a decent reason, like some ancient code or religious ritual—then fine. But this? It makes absolutely zero sense. 🤷

A deep dive into a father's character and a touching story about the bond between a dad and his son (minus any mention of the Holy Spirit, since he turned his back on this whole thing too—the Trinity is just Mama Smith at this point).
So here it is:
"A militant, cold-blooded guy who’s basically an absent father—someone who has zero connection to his family and just shows up briefly to watch his son pass some cadet exam—ends up landing on an uninhabited planet with that same (unsuccessful) son.
The whole 'relationship' between the commander (dad) and the cadet (son) unfolds as the commander keeps drilling the kid on his training just to trigger a rescue mission.
Once they pull off the rescue, the commander (dad) gives this pathetic salute to the cadet (son) for a job well done... and the son just breaks down crying, deciding he's done playing soldier and would much rather play with rag dolls with Mom."

Basically, my three crappy little sentences perfectly capture the "touching tale" of this father-son bond. It's banal, shallow, and honestly not worth the effort.
You don't need a 90-minute feature film to depict a relationship like that; this feels more like a Smith family home movie where they explain to their kid how they made all the money he's spending. It's strictly for internal family viewing—too serious and way too boring for a "funny home video."
How much the Smith family actually believes in this whole project is proven by the fact that the story was finished definitively, leaving absolutely zero room for a franchise. Thanks to Father and Son for making it that way.

Ideeš, even Kafka had a better father than this guy. 😲😁

placidorca31 said:I caught it last night and I’m still reeling... The CGI was absolutely abysmal, featuring everything from ten-foot eagles to some sort of hybrid lions... a complete disaster...
That Ursus creature was just ridiculous—it seemed practically blind, yet somehow only perceives those beings that don't fear it, which felt like a transparently heavy-handed nod to promoting the Church of Scientology through that whole ghosting gimmick...
The only redeeming quality was the kid being named Kita, which provided us with endless amusement whenever Will was calling out for him...

😂

What on earth was Smith thinking when he made such a desperate excuse for a movie? I guess he actually assumed the audience is so gullible that we’d just swallow any piece of garbage he throws at us.
I really hope they actually take a second to think things through before they even attempt to greenlight another one of these movies.

And at the end of the day, he’s just hiding behind that whole double identity thing. I don't really get his logic, honestly. 😁
Who is your favorite DC superhero? in Movies ·
My favorite DC hero? Definitely Batman.
Why? - Because he's Batman.
I mean, Christopher Nolan did such an incredible job with him; honestly, he made one of the best superhero movies ever put on screen. My only gripe is that third installment, which felt way weaker than the first two in my opinion.

Favorite anti-hero?
<---- Deathstroke 😁
The guy actually impressed me. He's managed to take down Batman in a fistfight a couple of times already, and let's be real, he's easily the top assassin in the whole DC universe.
I'd love to see someone finally bring him to the big screen, ideally as Batman's main rival.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I guess I just phrased it poorly. 🙂

I just really hope the writers get their act together and some kind of divine intervention brings Peter back to us somehow.

What's your take on him turning into Dr. Octopus?
From what I've gathered, he isn't exactly playing the hero anymore... maybe more like a light version of Punisher.

northernpilot2 said:I’ve always been pretty skeptical about those IMDb ratings, mostly just because I find myself disagreeing with them more often than not. There are tons of movies sitting down there with a score below 5 that I actually really enjoy, so for me, it’s never been much of a reliable yardstick.🙂
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying some films don't genuinely deserve a higher rating, but at the end of the day, it's all just a matter of taste, right? 🙂
We'll just have to wait and see, though I guess I am kind of curious to see how this all plays out. 🙂

So, I saw that Epic Movie has a 1.5/10 on IMDb. Honestly? I don't really care if people like it or not. It’s just one of those movies. I mean, maybe it's bad, maybe it's just stupid, I guess. I don't know. I don't really have a strong opinion on whether it's actually good or not. :P
just kidding 🙂 )
cosmiclynx57 said:True, but I don't think that applies to big blockbusters, because if I recall correctly, I can't remember a single sci-fi spectacle getting such a low rating.

Usually, blockbuster ratings tend to be way too high rather than way too low. And besides, I've watched plenty of horror flicks rated under a 4 that were actually solid—some even better than the highly-rated stuff—but when it comes to blockbusters, I really can't remember one dropping below a 5.

I don't know, I’m kind of surprised by how low those ratings for that movie are. Maybe I just didn't get it, but honestly, those scores seem a bit off to me.
Look, Hollywood has pumped out plenty of absolute garbage over the last decade or so. I mean, they've hit some seriously low lows before. So, honestly? It’s kind of hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that this specific thing is actually terrible even by their incredibly low standards. I guess it's possible, but it seems unlikely.
Look, Fast & Furious is sitting at around 72% on Rotten, and Iron Man 3 is somewhere in that same ballpark—but honestly, both of those movies are pretty mediocre if you ask me. So, if this thing ends up with a 12%, I can't even begin to imagine how much of an absolute dumpster fire it’s actually going to be. 🤣

Is this just one massive conspiracy by critics against Scientology, Will Smith, and all that Hollywood nepotism? 😂
Who is your favorite Marvel superhero? in Movies ·
I don't know, I just haven't been feeling the Marvel universe lately. To be honest, their heroes feel a bit lower quality compared to what DC is putting out.
I’ve loved Spider-Man since I was a kid, though. I used to grab the comics whenever I could find them.
But even he doesn't really impress me much anymore—when I actually stop to think about it, he rarely manages to take down a heavy-hitter villain all on his own. That doesn't sound particularly cool for a superhero, I guess. And those tired, old jokes of his... 😁

Right now, I'm finding Luke Cage pretty intriguing. He feels like Marvel's version of Bane.
It's a shame there hasn't been a movie made about him; he seems incredibly powerful.

And yeah, I'm just not a fan of these cinematic Avengers, nor am I that hyped about Iron Man. None of those heroes have really grabbed my attention for any specific reason.
Is Michael Bay actually a bad director? in Movies ·
Honestly, I’m just not feeling it. I’ve sat through way too many of his movies, unfortunately.
Next time one of his projects drops—doesn't matter how much hype there is or if he lands some massive A-list cast—I think I'll just steer clear entirely.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Movies ·
Unbelievable charisma. Honestly, I think he's the next Schwarzenegger.
I had some issues with The Dark Knight Rises because of Bane—I mean, how can you cast some 200-pound guy as the ultimate badass in Gotham City? It just doesn't work, no matter how good the acting is. Personally, I think The Rock would have been the perfect pick for that role, though I guess he’d actually need to focus on his acting skills first.
I'm pretty much counting down the days until his Hercules movie drops. 😁
Bill Murray in Movies ·
I wouldn't say I'm exactly his biggest fan, but I guess I can't deny he's had some pretty great roles here and there.
I guess I just prefer him when he’s popping up for shorter roles. He was pretty damn good in Zombieland and Get Smart, though. 😁
There are tons out there, but honestly, only a few are sticking in my mind right now.
Fight Club - I have to say, the lead character is pretty impressive.
krug (the US version) - I watched this when I was barely eleven, and man, I had nightmares about that well and that creepy little girl for ages. It was a pretty rough patch in my life.
