After taking a $5,000 bribe from that Woman from Rijeka, Ognjen Šimić—the surgeon—actually lost control of his bowels right when the Police Department showed up to arrest him.
Some officers on the scene gave us the unofficial word on that one.

🤣 🤣
Ashley Moore8 said:I think it was about witness protection—like, they’ll perform the surgery at some other hospital instead of with the colleague you reported (there were mentions of out-of-town surgeries and stuff).

I just hope the guy survives the surgery. It would be a real tragedy if he kicked the bucket on the operating table just out of solidarity with his colleague.
I don't get why National decided to leak the identity of a protected witness. Seriously, that Pukanić guy...🙄
Sundance Film Festival 2006 in Movies ·
This was easily one of the best festivals I've been to. The lineup was top-tier—the only thing missing was that laid-back camping vibe. 😢 One suggestion: they really need to sell bus tickets outside the vehicle to speed things up. On my last night, I tried buying VIP tickets at the bus, but the crowd was such a mess that I actually missed the start of the movie.
Does anyone know the soundtracks used in Looking Left Looking Right and Kamikaze Pizzeria? A friend recognized Sleepy Jackson, Rain Falls for Wind, and Amanda Brown, along with a few others, but I’d love to find the full tracklist.

But apparently, the "experts"—the ones with a century of experience and all the degrees—insist I shouldn't pull it out yet. Their reasoning? One, it’s in a dormant phase, and two, they might not even find those remaining pieces. They could just end up pulling out whatever looks close enough, potentially severing a whole new set of nerves and muscle in the process.
I guess I'll just shut up and do whatever Rebricar tells me. ¤

Ugh... how is it even possible that they won't find the remains? 🤔If they can't find them, how do they manage the control? How do they even know there's anything left?

It’s the constant monitoring that’s getting to me. In August, I’ll wait to hear what another oncologist thinks before making a call. But what if they say—just take it out?! Then I’m stuck with two conflicting opinions from two top-tier specialists. Do I go looking for a third opinion? ¤

Just have them remove it, man. You'll feel better mentally.

bluebadger24 said:Two years ago at the Mayo Clinic, they removed my spleen and all the "infected" lymph nodes in my neck. Well—almost all of them.
Because of this Škaro thing, I’m pretty restless and uneasy. It’s not ideal having something potentially malignant sitting in your neck, and the checkups are infrequent—only every six months. I'm worried that in the meantime, this Škaro might flare up and spread somewhere else. My oncologist doesn't recommend removing the remaining bit because it's too small; they just want to monitor it.
Right now, I'm looking for a second opinion at another hospital, so we'll see how it goes. ¤

Man, what did they actually do to you? Didn't they clear everything out? And now they aren't even recommending removing that tiny leftover piece? What kind of logic is that? 😲

I heard about this woman who was told she had cancer and needed to pay for surgery. She went out and got a second opinion from another specialist, and it turned out she didn't have cancer at all. Just a reminder that things happen.

I can't speak from personal experience or professional expertise, but isn't there some surgeon who takes private clients? Just pool the cash together and find someone who can operate ASAP, whether that’s here or over in Austria.
The pain is what actually scares me.
A beautiful view stretching out forever doesn't just fix everything. 😬

Fear is another thing. It’s like when someone finds out they have a terminal illness—that period of terror is probably unbearable until you finally learn to accept it.
How to factory reset my PC? in Software ·
I'm obviously not saying there's only one possible cause here, but I figured you might at least list the usual suspects or ask for more details before jumping straight to insults.

Windows XP, I'm not doing anything when it reboots. I just come back and find it's already restarted itself. It’s happening on my first Končarev laptop, and I haven't touched any settings. My guess? A virus. 😕

Look, I have no idea what you're talking about, and your "constructive" feedback is being incredibly helpful right now. Can you just reboot and stop popping up on my threads if you don't actually have anything useful to contribute?

My PC keeps rebooting itself for absolutely no reason... what gives? 😕

If you aren't willing to sign that, they likely won't let you donate blood.

I still donate. I just shrug at that declaration and sign it every single time.😁

This is wild.👎 I have a gay friend, and I know what those relationships—and most gay relationships, for that matter—are like. If the fact that someone cycles through 25 partners in three years means anything to anyone. Most follow that pattern, and if a couple actually manages to "last," others try to tear them apart. There were reports in the news about a specific HIV epidemic among gay men here in the States. Honestly, please, just stop donating.🙄
Pink Eye Help! in Health ·
Just got back from the eye doctor. I went in because I need new contacts, and while the tearing and other symptoms have finally died down, it turns out I’ve still got some inflammation 😢 Basically, the auto-refractor couldn't even get a reading on my left eye, so the technician had to do a manual check. She ended up sending me over to a specialist at a high-end clinic in downtown Chicago who uses more advanced gear. He ran me through about five different machines, twice each. When I mentioned I had an infection just a few days ago, he told the nurse to "color" my eyes to check for inflammation. She used some red drops, then he examined me again and confirmed both eyes are inflamed. He prescribed Virolex ointment and Torbrex drops, and told me to come back in a week.
Is ReNu actually dangerous for your eyes? in Health ·

SCANDAL IN THE USA: Lens solution recalled, but still sitting on shelves here
Is ReNu a threat to your vision?
By Lada Novak
You can still find ReNu contact lens solution from the American manufacturer Bausch & Lomb at local optical shops, even though health authorities in the USA have issued warnings about potential health risks. Following reports that 109 patients across 17 US states developed a rare eye infection over the last six months, investigators are looking into whether ReNu—which most of those patients were using—is the culprit.

This specific type of infection can cause sudden vision loss; for some, an emergency cornea transplant might be the only thing standing between them and blindness. Ronald L. Zarrella, the CEO of Bausch & Lomb, stated on Monday that while they haven't proven ReNu is harmful, the company has "voluntarily recalled US shipments in the interest of public health" until a final conclusion is reached.

Local opticians stocking ReNu say they weren't aware of the decision and claim they've never had quality issues with the product. Despite the scale of the scandal, representatives for Optinov, the US distributor for Bausch & Lomb, have declined to comment on the situation for now.

If you actually think it's conjunctivitis, go see a doctor instead of playing pharmacist at home.

The lady at the drugstore gave me that when I told her my symptoms. What are you dealing with?
Pink Eye Help! in Health ·
This is the second time in just a few months I’ve dealt with the same symptoms. My eyes are watering and getting crusty roughly every half hour. It’s honestly pretty embarrassing to be out in public like this. I'm assuming it might be conjunctivitis? I haven't seen a doctor yet—I've just been using Sulfasol drops. Is there any actual way to treat this?

There’s supposed to be some kind of treatment for heroin addiction, at least according to what I was reading.

It’s way less damaging than smoking.

If I had to choose between a girl with a sex addiction and one who smokes, I know which one I'm picking.😁

Spending the whole damn day obsessing over this? 😕 It's just escapism. 🤔

John Price said:A few months back, when he had internet in his room, he’d basically occupy the connection all day. Not sure exactly how many hours, but it was constant. crimsongull20 used to laugh about how we couldn't get online in the rest of the house because of him, but honestly, it was the only thing that actually worked as a deterrent.
Now that the internet is gone, he just heads to the local public library to stay "up to date," right???
Same deal at work—he grabs any chance he can get. How much is this actually messing with his life? Or is "messing with his life" just a way of saying he'd be fired instantly if his boss realized what he was doing?

Your guy is definitely out there. But without him wanting to quit on his own, you're stuck. Complaining won't do anything. It’s like people living with smokers; you can nag them to quit all day, but nothing happens until they decide to stop or their lungs give out. Nothing. The only real lever might be getting him fired. Maybe. 😁
