That’s really where the magic lies for me—it looks like your standard teen slasher at first glance, but it’s actually such a clever deconstruction of the whole genre. It’s that constant playing with genre tropes that makes it work; without that layer, it would just be another run-of-the-mill slasher flick.

Definitely the more important moment. The other two are just okay—but the first one hits differently because of how dark it is.👍

Worshipping the devil has nothing to do with human freedom👎

It’s not that I think he can actually ruin someone’s faith—it’s more about where I draw the line regarding Satanism. Honestly, I have zero respect for anyone trying to lean into that lifestyle, and I feel like they should be kept away from mainstream media altogether. For me, freedom of speech hits a wall when it comes to Satanism. Period. It would have been better if he just stuck to criticizing the Church instead of playing into the whole Satanic aesthetic.

Megan Brooks said:And whose business is it anyway? It doesn't seem to bother the people who actually showed up to see it.

And those people who might actually feel insulted? They aren't even at the concert—they're just moping around somewhere else...

The only thing that might actually bother the local police is whether there are any "Satanists" or non-believers among them—maybe even some Muslims who just don't care much about the Christian cross.
And even if he said something juicy—like, total filth—you know he’s speaking English, right?

By that logic, I guess the KKK is perfectly fine too—since they don't exactly have any Black people showing up at their rallies.👎

So what's the actual issue here? If someone starts doing provocative stuff with a cross, obviously they're going to offend people.🙄 🙄 🙄

Seriously—give it a rest! Just thinking about Batman Returns and Sin City... both are easily 150 times better than that Spider-Man trash.🙂

What’s wrong with that movie? I actually had a good time, even if it felt pretty watered down—and blood and guts are usually his whole thing. [/B] Exactly—for Verhoeven, it's pretty weak.👎

Oh, and Sam Raimi—man, what happened to him after Spider-Man?😢 😢

What about Thirteen Ghosts? Even if it's a bit of a mess, I still thought it was killer.

quietdriver3 said:I'm not sure what that Looney Tunes: Back in Action movie is like.

Ever seen Space Jam? Well, Back in Action is totally different—it's upbeat, playful, fast-paced, crazy, and smart, all at once. Honestly, an absolute classic. It also happens to be the last film Jerry Goldsmith scored.😢

Feel free to grab it from the video store; Dante did a solid job on this one.👍

It’s a decent flick. Didn't exactly blow my mind—but it was a pretty solid watch overall.👍
