And when are they dropping more bands? The suspense is killing me. Currently hanging out by the Mall of America just waiting to see if we get another couple of solid acts...

Are tickets finally live at the Mall of America?
The official site still says "coming soon," even though you can already grab them for other shows.😕

??
As far as I know, neither AF nor Grinderman have ever even played in the States. ☕
urbannomad30 said:I was actually trying to say they should overhaul the ADA first, then maybe we can talk about ☕ 😬

Back at the IEEE meetup, right after that de facto set finished, I asked Omar if they'd ever get the ADA crew back together, and he basically shut me down with pure disgust
...though maybe nowadays you could sweeten the deal with some $$$ 😁
Larry Morales12 said:look, you've got two headliners for now. how many more would you even 😁
? though yeah, I'll give you this: we can definitely find someone better than Grinderman

Plus Portishead. I'm good enough😁
Karen Cook51 said:Thanks 👍 Guess I just need to find some college kid and hand over $290 ASAP.

A student who doesn't even want to go to the festival😁

They could've booked an even bigger headliner. Not as many people are digging Grinderman as they are Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.

urbannomad30 said:weird setlist, missed some hits like Unfinished Sympathy[/size]

😕 Unfinished Sympathy was like the second or third song after Safa fra Harm

you're gonna carry that gloom from everything earlier, so you probably didn't even notice 😁

ugh, after The Flaming Lips, Massive Attack felt like a bucket of ice water... like, once FL lifts you up with all that optimism and joy, MA just reminds you that the world is still a cold dark place...
The Flaming Lips are gods 🙏 🙏 🙏

Only their set was actually worth the money, but honestly, the whole day yesterday was killer—easily the best day of this five-year run at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival...

Props to the organizers... everything ran smooth, and the real MVP was the shuttle buses, which saved me from trekking all the way out to the Island 🙂
urbannomad30 said:they moved VICE to the main stage👋
VICE 19:15
THE FLAMING LIPS 21:15
MASSIVE ATTACK 23:15

Gonna miss Caribou for the most part, but at least these guys don't overlap🙂

day before LCD and !!! 🙂

should be good🙂

Yeah, bummer about Caribou too... if they'd just swapped him out for New Young Pony Club, the schedule would've been perfect... but whatever, I won't complain. Could've been way worse.😁
here's the schedule

Here’s some new electronic tracks, including L-Vis:
urbannomad30 said:everything is on the second day 😢

yeah, that was the first thing I noticed...
day one is just Morcheeba and LCD Soundsystem, then the second day will probably have all the heavy hitters... and with such a thin lineup, you'll end up missing half the stuff anyway... honestly, festivals suck😢

and yeah, the world stage? wtf 😕
I was just praying they wouldn't schedule the Flaming Lips at the exact same time as Broken social scene... but I guarantee you that's exactly what's gonna happen. 😠
So, are we officially done with all those foreign names? 👎

Jesse Sanchez60 said:they were actually pretty stoked after the Concert... apparently Wolf Parade is taking a year off starting this October, so it’s back to the Handsome Furs/The Shins era stuff again 😁

Guess they gotta swing through again before October then

checked out some Tonx 🙂...

The link was already on the forum, but here it is again:

Room was way too live, sounded like being stuck in a damn cave. Had to crank the mix a bit louder than I wanted just to hear anything clearly.

kissing the beehive 🙏 🙏 🙏

Way too loud. Couldn't really tell the guitars apart from the vocals, but the energy was raw, gritty, and honestly pretty killer 👍 👍

The flaws? Probably just nerves from playing for the best crowd on the planet 😁

Or maybe just the terrible acoustics of the venue (that underground club), which is what he mentioned on his blog and in Why? a few months back ☕
Did someone order some Alice in Chains? 😁
Morcheeba

They could’ve thrown in Portishead too, just to give us the whole Seattle scene in one go...

Massive Attack,
Flogging Molly,

Broken social scene
Kiril Dzajkovsi and The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips, Skindred, !!! and Caribou aren't set yet

Day two looks rough. Really hoping Flogging Molly, Pendulum, and Dubioza Kolektiv don't overlap.

Probably Caribou on 6/23 too, since they’re in Vienna the day before.
