Got some big names from around the country lined up, so let's wrap this lineup up🤣

I’m seeing a second person now claiming this is the best festival in the country, or at least the best one lately, just showering it with nonstop praise. Honestly, I don't get the hype.
😁
I'd drive all the way to Austin or anywhere within a day's drive just to catch Flaming Lips or Broken Social Scene on their own... they absolutely kill it live... LCD Soundsystem is on my radar too, curious how they sound in person... seen Massive Attack before, but maybe again... missed Flogging Molly, heard they were worth the trip...
Billy Idol was cool back in the day, but man, every single festival has to dig up some relic from the mothballs...
Rise Against is the only one that doesn't feel totally mid or overrated...
All things considered, it's a solid lineup so far. For the $83 I dropped on a ticket, it's actually a pretty good deal...
But hey, that's just me. Totally get it if none of these bands mean anything to you... 🙂
Joseph Jackson2 said:thanks for that 😁
me too, either hitting up New York City or just tossing some cash at a trip to Austria or Canada for a better fest.
so there you go.
PS is Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival actually better than say, Lollapalooza or Austin City Limits? Same vibe?
...organization-wise and length, probably not, but right now the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup beats both Lollapalooza and ACL... ACL is looking almost strictly electronic so far, and at Lollapalooza I only care about three bands, one of which is playing in NYC🙂
and looking at it from a travel perspective, isn't it awesome when The Flaming Lips come to my neck of the woods? 😁
plus, obviously you're gonna travel to whichever one has more bands you actually like 🙂 ...as simple as that...
Arthur Anderson75 said:I'm not making any claims about Muse or Placebo.
Just trying to tell you—Muse three years ago wasn't the same band they are today.
Truth be told, three years ago they actually dropped an album that didn't suck. 😁
Arthur Anderson75 said:To each their own, I guess. But honestly? The people running Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival haven't shown any real vision yet.
What kind of vision are we even talking about if we want to please everyone? The lineup needs to offer something for everybody. The whole idea is that people show up for one or two big headliners, and everything else is just a bonus.
Arthur Anderson75 said:So far this year? Total fail. For me, anyway.
Best festival in the country this year. For me, anyway.
Arthur Anderson75 said:Still waiting on the actual headliners. Really hoping they don't screw over The Chemical Brothers too.
If The Chemical Brothers showed up, this would easily be the best festival ever. Period. 😁
Heading to Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. 👍 👍
...Billy Idol is honestly the most random, underwhelming name on this year's lineup... fingers crossed they don't try to make him a headliner...
... though I guess it’s not a huge shock, seeing as he’s also playing Lollapalooza—basically a mini Burning Man—alongside Massive Attack just a few days after Coachella...

BSS 😍
That's what I'm asking. Finally, something worth actually showing up for.
Even if Pavement showed up, they're usually paired with BSS at these kinds of festivals anyway🙂

any chance for James? ... even though they'd fit right in at Rock
Calling all bands that played in America this past year—you better show up at Lollapalooza 😂
Kyle Wilson74 said:I wouldn't mind seeing the Coachella lineup show up at InMusic too, but I doubt that's actually gonna happen.
😳
man, Coachella's lineup is a total dream
any of those bands could pull up regardless of the festival... might as well go all out

Any word on which of these are getting a wider release?
No way I'm catching everything I want to see in just one week.

fadedsailor932 said:...I don't get it... prices are basically the same as last year...🤷
The starting price is different though... last year we already knew who the headliners were, and tickets had that T-Mobile student discount at $100 (like 250 bucks)... this year, we don't even have a lineup yet and it's already up to 340...
On the bright side, they actually dropped the price on single-day passes 👍
With prices like these, they better land a massive headliner.
The Flaming Lips would definitely start a cult at Central Park😍
Fleet Foxes are actually pretty fun 😁
still waiting on a fourth member 🙂
... plus the third guy is still indecisive ☕

Preach.

Man, you're exactly who we need. 👍
Hit me up via DM or shoot an email to my cell so we can hash out the details, you know, all that stuff. 🙂
Business stuff... they make the money, we take the trips 😁

Here's why we aren't stopping there. 😁
Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked we have Matt and Arcade Fire 😁
I end up hitting those events all the time... otherwise, we'd just be stuck going to gorgeous shows with maybe 50 people in the crowd, "discovering" bands we heard two songs from on MySpace...
The real issue with most promoters—bringing in bands that actually have quality and a higher price tag, even if they don't hit the massive mainstream numbers here—is the lack of decent venues. We need spots that fit the right amount of people without forcing an insane ticket price... plus, let's not even talk about the sound quality in some of these places. After what we dealt with at the Boogaloo show, you start wondering if you even want to watch a band when the acoustics are that garbage...
Look, supporting social justice principles is all well and good, but let’s be real—we live in a world run by liberal capitalism. So yeah, I’m backing whoever actually books the band I want to see... and if they do, I’ll happily pay whatever ticket price they slap on it. 😁
...I mean, why send our money overseas when we can spend it right here at home? 😁
...And wouldn't it be even better if that cash went toward building a top-tier venue that holds maybe 3,000 or 4,000 people? 🙂
...Anyway, I'm rambling now. Let's get back to the point... seriously, is nobody actually planning on heading to New York City? 🤷
