Of course... we should just be the first ones to recognize them, scrap all visa requirements, and let them roll in with nothing but an ID. Once America finds its footing—whenever that may be—we can hand out work permits and welcome everyone with open arms. Then, when independence day finally rolls around, the whole coast from San Francisco to Charleston will be painted red...

.

Thanks, really. I want to wish my fellow Americans—everyone, regardless of background—a wonderful holiday filled with peace and love.

alst said:So, does it still sting? Knowing that whatever was established in Boise on this day has just been tossed into the dustbin of history? How are you handling that tragedy?

Nothing's gone anywhere... that star is still shining bright red and gold.

alst said:Is that old portrait of Marshall still hanging on the wall? Does that crooked fascist still haunt your dreams?

Of course it’s hanging—in the breakroom. And the fascist? He’s there too... mostly just flushing down the toilet to help with indigestion.

alst said:Did your heart swell with nostalgia when Clinton greeted you as "comrades" in a speech the other day, like the good old days?

How could it not? Honestly, it brought a tear to my eye.
Now I'm off to watch a classic movie where brave guys in military gear take down your relatives—if you want, I can send you a link so you can see how Uncle Sam dances when the guns start firing.😎

LOL

Great track—kudos to Mike. It’s actually melodic and he can actually sing. We need more of this instead of all that modern garbage out there. If you have anything else like it, feel free to drop it...😉

And that Canadian rocket😁. Might have to ban my old lady from visiting Lourdes for a while... she's had enough of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception...

I honestly thought the guy was a Mexican Mexican... then I see it's Uzair... man... who would've guessed?
Anyway, Judah, what's worse in your book? Being a Mexican or a Balinese? Uzair or Uros?

Regarding Granić—I actually thought he might be decent since his wife is from Boise, but turns out he’s just another sleazy politician.

What is wrong with you, kid? Turn your life around, go make your peace with God, and try starting over.

The drugs got to me.

Srna is Uzeir's kid—but he’s baptized and makes his regular trips to the American Medjugorje👍

My old lady goes to Medjugorje once a year, and my dad voted for the Border—so yeah, you can see what kind of person I turned out to be...

What’s supposed to mean "Uzeir"? Is that actually a name?

Thomas Martin2 said:To my dear old enemy from the former America... I have a confession to make—I am a total chauvinist for our people back home...

Growing up, my uncle was always lecturing me about history and our family names in the old territory, so nowadays, I can probably guess where someone is from just by their last name 95% of the time.

Look, when I heard that Petrić and Ćorluka were playing for the national team, my heart just skipped a beat—honestly, I almost teared up. Out of the eleven players, we’ve got six of our own now. You've got Petrić from the northern borderlands, Ćorluka from the South, Šimić from Gruda, Šimunić from Fojnica, Leka, Kovač from Livno, Klasnić from Medjugorje, and so on...

And then there's Prkačin—he's originally from Dubrava, somewhere between Čapljina and Stožac... much like the huge number of folks from the river valley who actually trace their roots back to the South—families like Prkačin, Jukić, Bubati, Zubak, Ivić... even the father of our hero Darij Kordić is from the South, as is our great guy Branimir Glavaš, hailing from Drinovac near Ljubuški...

Then you have those heroes from the northern front—Blago Zadro, Sučić, and of course, our one and only Kat Šoljić, from a small street in the northern valley, who lost five brothers during WWII fighting for us, and then five sons and her husband in this recent conflict.

So, how could I not love my people—every single inch of our homeland?

So, what about Prso, Rapajic, Srna, and Balaban? Nothing? Well, nobody is complaining about your loyalty... I feel like Matthew Wright2 here, honestly feeling bad that some people are trying to cast you aside now. But hey, I don't care—that won't change your connection to the motherland no matter what they do. Don't take those insults to heart. Anyway, I asked about Prkačin because some people were claiming his mother was Muslim just to try and discredit him. To me, he seems pretty reasonable, despite being a HOS member and all that. Since there was that whole showdown in Slavonski Brod and everything... I was curious how you view him and his—now defunct—attempts to be liked by us over here in "America"?😁
I heard he was sitting at the local spot with DJ krmak, reciting some folk song about Bugojno—and apparently, it was from a Mexican... just some old folk tune.

Look, we have plenty in common—you can't wrap your head around Americans from places like Slunj or Imotski, but you find us folks from the old America areas (like Chicago, Pula, or Rijeka) just as repulsive. So, we end up in the same spot, don't we?

That’s not quite right, Thomas. I can certainly wrap my head around people from Slunj or Imotski—and I'm definitely not a Jugović. Believe me. Fine, if you want to label me because I'm from Chicago, so be it. I've never even set foot in Canada, but honestly, you can call me whatever you want. You seem like a decent guy otherwise, and despite our political differences, I wish you nothing but the best.
Anyway, since you brought up Bugojno, it made me think of Ante Prkačin... tell me, as a die-hard Herzegovinian, what's your take on him?
How things used to be in Close to Politics ·
Man, I really feel for you. I’ve noticed the shift too—though, honestly, he seems a bit more liberal when it comes to the back-and-forth banter, like when we're just trading insults, which I'm fine with and can't really fault him for. It sucks that you might have caught a ban just for calling out a Canadian, yet he turns a blind eye to W&S. Hang in there, Thomas Martin2. Don't let them get to you. You know I never took anything personally from what you said...

Who are we actually talking about here—who used to call Muslims "balije" and now hands out bans for saying it?

Is that the Inquisitor?

An Inquisitor? Can we actually say stuff like this about George Washington—or are we just sticking to double standards now?

Those are all solid loans. Just take the money and run when the bill comes due—why not? Honestly, I’d rather buy a handgun and settle things on the street than owe a dime to those thugs. You'll have a lot less crap to swallow, trust me...
