I don't really get the point of this thread. Are we supposed to comment on how you're becoming less afraid? Honestly, most people would lose their minds over something like that.
Nicole Vaughn said:From what I saw—Darwin's Nightmare was honestly pretty heavy and gut-wrenching. The wildest part was when this guy in the AMC Theatres just yelled out, "Turn on the AC, we're suffocating in here!" while the screen was showing an entire continent dying... Talk about adding a little extra commentary to the experience.
🤣 🤣 🤣
I know that guy 😢
But seriously, it felt stifling in there, especially for those of us standing instead of sitting.
Nicholas King62 said:strings looks and sounds absolutely stunning... but the writer? They seriously need to rethink that script.
I actually saw it differently. Like, maybe the script was intentionally predictable and cliché just to distract you from how thin the plot really was...
Nicholas King62 said:darwin's nightmare is definitely worth a watch. It gets a little over-the-top and dramatic at times, but it's a solid documentary.
Musat said:There's zero atmosphere in this movie. Total waste of money. Honestly, you'd get the same effect if you just framed some stills and put them in a gallery. It mostly just appealed to people who were too eager to please—people trying to project their own weird cinematic visions onto those dull, muted lights of Japan.
I find conversations between two old ladies on the bus at 8 AM way more engaging than anything involving Bill and Scarlet....🙄
And if this movie is your idea of a masterpiece, then you clearly have no taste in life... 😉
So, when are we actually going to the theater to see the next James Bond?
Just got my stool test results back. Turns out I've got Salmonella. Nothing we didn't already suspect...
My old man is at home right now taking Sinersul, but I stumbled upon some pretty sketchy info about it online. Curious to hear what you all think about using it. 🙏 🙏
Any curvy ladies out there looking to drop weight fast? I’ve got the ultimate diet plan... it's called "eat literally anything besides water and dry toast and just suffer through the pain." Anyone interested? 🙂
nimbleskipper13 said:Ugh, you are being so difficult. The diet (read: rusk, pretzels, broth, tea) lasts UNTIL the diarrhea stops, then you get a few days of boiled chicken, cooked fruit, veggies...
The girls have a point though... but they definitely deserve Machummer and his HL shakes, let's call them "cellular" shakes... 😂 😂 😂
Man, just go suck on something cylindrical.
You women are always on some "diet," so you're used to it. This is my first one and I am literally starving. Walking past an ExxonMobil today, everything smelled amazing, but I told myself "No, Eugene, don't!" and I didn't. A few yards later, there's this Pizza Hut, smells so good I could've eaten just the scent 🙂 , but I told myself "No, Eugene, don't!" and I didn't. Then a bakery. With meat pies. I managed to push through, get home, and eat some rusk. 🙂
Man, I can't deal with this anymore... just water and tea all day. Is this for real? Pâté? Soft-boiled eggs? Strawberries? Please, just give me anything with actual flavor 😁
Keith James812 said:Think about it. It’s just not right to mislead people... 😁 Plus, for some folks, gut infections lead to real complications. It doesn't just end after five days of weird bathroom trips... It wouldn't hurt to check in on someone, you know? Just to give them some peace of mind that what they're feeling is actually happening...
🙏 🙏 🙏 I'll reach out to them 🙏
Keith James812 is basically the moderator of bad jokes 🙏 🙏
Keith James812 said:Honestly, it wouldn't be a bad idea to send someone to... you know... that town near Lekenik 🙏 just to grab some samples and all that...
I mean, maybe the food was just off too. They make those pastries overnight, but my mom (she works at a top-secret lab near Sisak, scary stuff 😁) bought them in the afternoon and drove all the way across the state to get to the city. Of course things are going to go wrong.
Bradley Davis33 said:The microbes are fighting back... you shouldn't have celebrated them too much!
Self-treating isn't going to work here. I need to see a doctor tomorrow. And for the butt soreness, just use some almond ointment.
Like I told that Mexican woman 🙂, I'm gonna hop in the shower and crash. Hopefully this roast settles by tomorrow, and the diarrhea slows down since I'm sticking strictly to dry toast from now on 🙂
I already grabbed a stool sample. It’s going to the lab for testing tomorrow—my mom works at a lab, so we have sterile vials and everything right here at home. Then I'll know exactly which little monster is attacking me. 😠
Also, what does this diet actually involve? What am I allowed to eat besides soup and dry toast?
Bradley Davis33 said:Alright... come on, just admit it. You're actually studying for your microbiology exam, aren't you? This is just your way of testing yourself.😁
Nope. I already aced my micro exam back in my first semester with an A. Now I'm just curious which one of those little monsters actually got me...😠
What antibiotic should I use against them? Tetracycline? 🙂 😁
Walter Myers4, yeah, probably Salmonella. I looked up the symptoms and they match perfectly. They say it lasts about 4 to 6 days, so it should clear up by Wednesday at the latest 😈
nimbleskipper13, please, don't be such a know-it-all. I'm a med student, almost graduated... hehehe 😉 😉 😉
I had some toast. With a homemade sausage. 😢 As far as I know, you take Bioactive LGG for stuff like this, and my mom recommended it too, so I took some.
And it's not an itch around the anus, it's more like burning, damn it, just pure burning. 😢 What's Neven's ointment? You mean Neven Ciganović? 🙂
On Thursday (day 1), I ate some seriously sketchy food—a meat pastry—and by Friday (day 2), I was so wiped out that I crawled home and slept for about 14 hours straight. It felt weird, almost like having a fever or something... but whatever.
I felt slightly better on Saturday, but then my habit of running trail routes interrupted things, so once I got back, I just collapsed into bed again. Not to mention this constant headache.
The actual food poisoning symptoms really kicked in on Sunday (day 3). I was dealing with such watery diarrhea that I had to hit the bathroom about 10 times a day. I think you can imagine how bad it is when I tell you that my backside is absolutely stinging right now... probably from all the toilet paper, since the burning didn't start until after the seventh or eighth trip.
Day 4, today. I finally thought it was over and I was feeling way better. So far, I've only had to run to the bathroom 3 times, maybe one more late tonight... 🙂 I've tried eating dark chocolate. I've had sour cream. I've tried dry foods and even some hard-boiled eggs. I've tried everything, but my stool is still incredibly liquid, and I keep getting these intestinal cramps that last about a minute and end with bloating and gas moving through me.
The problem is, this timing couldn't be worse. My exams are coming up fast, and between the headache, I can't focus, and with these stomach cramps, I'd much rather just lie down and rest than study the citric acid cycle... So, if there's a medical pro in here, please look at these symptoms and tell me what this could be, how to get rid of it ASAP, and how the hell to stop this burning sensation down there. 🙂
Reminds me of this one time a buddy of mine wouldn't believe that ascorbic acid was actually just Vitamin C. He didn't buy it because he thought all acids had to be liquid... and since he takes his Vitamin C in a pill, he just wasn't convinced. 🙂
