Hey, since we're on the topic (well, we weren't really, but it just popped into my head), has anyone actually received their paperwork from the Bank and Registry yet?
Basically, when we were hanging out at Times Square, that lady mentioned we’d get something sent directly to our homes—kill me if I'm remembering this right—but we were supposed to receive some kind of documents by mail... so, has anyone gotten anything? brisknomad6, did you get yours? Do you even remember what it was we were waiting on?? 😁 😁 😁
Amy Lee18, 1) Before you jump in and start a new thread, just double-check to see if someone else hasn't already covered it... 2) And please, don't write your titles in ALL CAPS—it's basically the digital version of screaming at everyone...
Jeffrey Johnson4 said:I have no reason to doubt the acting prowess of Helen Mirren, and she likely earned her Oscar given her sheer talent (though I haven't actually sat down to watch the film yet—I'll have to consider that possibility). However, I cannot shake the nagging thought that she essentially cast a vote for herself. As an Academy member, she openly remarked that she would never forgive herself if she missed out on the Oscar, and it's quite possible that her own vote was the deciding factor in her victory. Truly appalling.
Personally, I think everyone nominated gets a vote for themselves every single year—they just don't admit it... 😉And honestly, that says something about Helen, plus the fact that she almost certainly knew she was getting the Oscar even without her own vote.
Anyway, I finally watched the movie yesterday. Even though I'm totally fascinated by the British Royal Family and have followed everything happening with them religiously, I found the movie BORING! It's such a shame, because you guys caught the most media-intense week in UK history ever (not even gonna mention those terrorist attacks) and turned it into an unwatchable hour and 45 minutes... 👎 If it wasn't for Helen Mirren's perfect—absolutely perfect—acting, I would've shut it off halfway through. And mind you, I'm the kind of person who WATCHED the funeral and bought all those books about Princess Diana that came out after...
Helen is truly an acting goddess. Just the other night I was saying she probably portrayed Elizabethan emotions way better than the actual Elizabeth did, but everything else... 👎
3/10 + deserved Oscar! (Glad I didn't buy a movie theater ticket...)
Jamie Johnson6 said:Who exactly am I going to hurt by giving advice?
Look, in this particular situation... you can't really hurt anyone. And yeah, I’m totally with you—people who blindly follow random internet advice are usually just asking for trouble and are responsible for their own messes.
But still, that doesn't mean we shouldn't try our best to avoid giving bad advice, right?
I'm really not taking this personally, I'm just making a general point here. No hard feelings, please...🙂
Kimberly Chase54 said:I'm with you on the weight loss thing. And yeah, you're totally right that Metformin is a diabetes medication—but doctors prescribe it in low doses for PCOS too, mostly because there’s this growing link between PCOS and insulin intolerance. It really is such a complicated mess...
Okay, I've let you guys talk nonsense for long enough, but I just can't ignore my conscience 😬 regarding the PCOS discussion.
So, newsflash: INSULIN INTOLERANCE DOES NOT EXIST!!!!!!!!
What actually exists is insulin resistance—which is basically when your body's cells just can't use insulin effectively—and that's what you guys are actually talking about.
Look, none of the moderators on this sub could ever actually step in and penalize someone for giving wrong or even dangerous advice, but please, I'm begging you, be careful with what you post!!!! If you don't know the facts, just stay quiet... don't end up in a spot where your "advice" actually ends up hurting someone...
Look, there’s no such thing as some magic, overnight diet fix for anyone dealing with PCOS. It’s just the reality of the situation—PCOS and weight gain are pretty much tangled up together. People carrying extra weight are more prone to developing PCOS, and then, once you have it, trying to drop those pounds feels like an uphill battle... and obviously, it’s almost impossible to actually manage the PCOS symptoms without losing weight first. That’s why most doctors suggest treating the symptoms with birth control while we simultaneously focus on eating better and trying to move more to get the weight down. Honestly, if you look closely, the advice is basically the same as what anyone else gets when they're trying to lose weight—no "miracle" foods or crazy fad diets included. It’s just that for us folks with PCOS, we really have to be a lot more patient with our bodies while we work through the scale 😉
Notice went up on January 25th, and by February 5th, things started getting a bit more serious with the cleanup...
You had plenty of time to just go ahead and change your sig yourself—instead of sitting around waiting for someone else to do it and then running to tattle on them 😉
You actually already started a thread for this, and since that one got merged into the big discussion about cosmetic surgery and skincare, I’m gonna close this one out. I'll be deleting it tomorrow, so you can just head over to the other thread to keep talking about your problem—there's already some really solid advice waiting for you there...
redfox57 said:So, what actually counts as healthy food? One group tells me it’s all about fiber, then another group turns around and claims high-fiber stuff causes just as many issues... it's confusing. I'm looking for an actual weekly meal plan—breakfast, lunch, dinner (and please, make it edible)... since I'm a total foodie at heart.
And how many of these weekly menus are we talking about, considering you're such a gourmet? Like, maybe ten different ones?
Also, you'll probably need snack ideas too—eating 5 or 6 small meals a day is the way to go if you want to stay healthy. So, if we're building specific weekly plans for our resident foodie here, I'd really appreciate it if someone included snacks in the mix...
Talking about healthy eating—you can find a thousand threads just like that online. Are we supposed to be marveling at how much of a diagnostic genius your doctor is?
Seriously though, could you just define the actual question or topic you’re trying to kick off here? Please...🙂
Usually, we don't just go around deleting threads. If you honestly feel like there's a solid reason to get rid of yours—like, seriously—just shoot a PM to the subforum moderator and explain your reasoning...
Jacob Wood9 said:I honestly don't get it—how can someone dealing with months of intense pain, just like you described, be handed morphine without the doctor even considering something else? It’s wild... Morphine and Acisal🙄 plus a little morning massage with Dip Relief
And then there's the part I find most baffling (and yeah, let's call it what it is 🙄)... this isn't some guy from a small town in the Midwest who brings his doctor a bottle of bourbon and a platter of ham just to get a quick prescription.
We're talking about someone famous here—someone with actual money—the kind of person where you'd expect doctors to go overboard and try to over-diagnose them just to keep them happy.
