Hold up—none of us ever told her she has to blindly follow whatever her endocrinologist says... I would absolutely never suggest something like that to anyone. She actually came here looking for a "natural thyroid cure" because she refused to take hormones—basically saying it feels stupid to take meds when her bloodwork looks fine.
I mean, obviously, seeing another specialist is necessary sometimes, and yeah, trying to nail down the right dose of Levothyroxine can be a total nightmare—I still have those dreams where I'm frantically cutting them into tiny pieces, goddammit, just trying to manage a 3/4 pill... but she isn't even talking about dosage adjustments, she's talking about completely ditching life-saving hormone replacement therapy altogether!
And sure, let's just assume we're all geniuses, right... 🥳

I mean, I don't know... you seem to know your stuff pretty well, and based on how you described the whole thing, it sounded like you were speaking from experience!
Seriously, such an incredible movie... The vibes, the cast, the sets—everything just totally blew me away at the theater yesterday... absolutely top-tier stuff.
And oh my god, you guys, I was laughing so hard! I honestly thought they were gonna kick me out of the cinema (thankfully there were only like 7 or 8 people there): That part where he goes back for his wallet (after that whole ridiculous bit where she insists on doing everything herself), and this guy is just acting all unhinged and rude to everyone, clearly because she set him up to get caught with some "younger guy"... then the camera pans toward the wallet and cuts over to the TV. And on the screen? Just Bush, making this incredibly stupid face...
😂 🤣 I'm actually cracking up all over again just thinking about it!

Okay, look, doing that is just plain stupid and kind of malicious—you’re literally there to get better, so why cheat the system?... But you know, this lady didn't even realize she was doing anything wrong! It's exactly those "empty calories" I'm always talking about...

on the topic - indigo, those girls are right—if you're working out but still eating less, calories might just be sneaking in somewhere else. Like, maybe in juices? Or even that pastry you grabbed on the way home and totally forgot about because by the time you walked through the door, you were starving again like you hadn't eaten a thing 😉 It might actually help if you spent a month tracking EVERYTHING you swallow—liquids, solids, whatever—and kept a little notebook in your bag at all times so you could jot things down while you're out and about.
But honestly, that sounds like total obsession. You really just need to stay mindful of everything you eat and realize that calories don't just show up when you're sitting down at the table with a fork and knife. If it were that easy, we'd all be supermodels, since most of our calories sneak in through the side like that...
Chloe Morris12, I’ve got a little story for you from back in the late eighties in Chicago. A lady I used to know ended up putting on, well, maybe 30 pounds or so. She actually checked into a hospital to try and drop the weight because she could barely even walk anymore. They had her on the strictest diet imaginable—everything was weighed out to the gram (back then, our hospitals actually still had some standards)—but during those first two weeks, she somehow gained four pounds 😲!!!
The doctors were practically rubbing their hands together thinking they had a massive breakthrough for a medical journal—a total sensation! Someone who "isn't eating" but keeps gaining weight... can you believe it? But here's the thing—she was encouraged to go for walks every single day. And while she was out walking, she ran into a friend from a different ward, whose family kept dropping off these thick, heavy fruit juices. Now, this lady—just my luck, right?—absolutely hates thick juices. So, the other woman—our "dieting" patient—would step in and drink them. Just a liter or two of that concentrated juice every day, and suddenly... the scale starts climbing...
The point of this whole thing is: even if you feel like you're eating less than you used to, you're probably sneaking in empty calories without even realizing it. Chocolate is definitely a huge culprit. And those 40 days you mentioned? 🤔 Who knows what you were using to make up those calories...
PS: I’m with nimbledriver81 on this one. Your diet isn't exactly hitting the mark, and it's incredibly tough to lose weight when things are that unbalanced (?!?!?!). If you varied your food a bit more, maybe you wouldn't be craving chocolate quite so much—just a guess, though, since we already established that I don't touch Coke!
Look, I might not be some Nobel laureate, but my MRI was a massive letdown too. I was really hoping to find something interesting tucked away in there—maybe some hidden drama or something—but nope... just totally empty. Just like everyone else's...
I'm a bit of a homebody—couldn't make it down to Santa Barbara during my fourth month of pregnancy... plus, they said the weather was pretty lousy anyway.
And regarding meeting Nobel laureates, I've actually already crossed paths with two of them. So, I'm definitely not one of those people who hunts down photos with Nobel laureates just to post them online...
indigo Girl, go ahead and drop that question of yours one more time for us.
From what I can gather—and correct me if I'm wrong here—you're saying you've been cutting way back on calories lately and hitting the gym much harder than usual, yet the scale isn't budging and your measurements haven't changed at all. Is that actually an issue... or did I miss something while I was busy arguing with this amateur?
you, Luca, Sarah Gomez52, nimbledriver81, vf_9, and me (sorry if I missed anyone—definitely wasn't intentional) all know he’s just talking nonsense... he's basically just a loudmouth who spends way too much time hunting for links to back himself up. but the rest of the people on this forum don't see that. they might end up stuck in this position where they have to "choose" between listening to people who actually know their stuff versus someone who just posts constantly and sounds super convincing. and that's honestly pretty scary, because some people might end up believing him just because they think, "well, those experts don't really know anything anyway!"
YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE ABSOLUTE BASICS OF CHEMISTRY—we're talking seventh-grade science level here! Did you even finish middle school? You definitely didn't make it through high school... honestly, any high school chemistry teacher would be absolutely mortified to know they had a student who thinks it's "N.O." instead of NO!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT DO YOU THINK N.O. IS????? Nitric oxide? Is that what it's called in English? Do you even have a textbook on this? The fact that you can't even spell a basic chemical compound just shows you don't have a clue how to write any formula at all!!!!!!!!!1
EVERYONE, PLEASE, DON'T LISTEN TO A SINGLE WORD THIS FRAUD SAYS—he has zero idea what he's talking about!!!!font>
