Ted broke down how Ferrari operates 😁

Are you even checking your DMs?
Either you aren't seeing them—which is pretty embarrassing, honestly—or you're just ignoring me...
Gregory Brown94 said:If you guys keep messing with me, I’m honestly going to follow Lewis Hamilton's lead and go into total isolation like a hermit. Maybe try finding some people who actually want to start Grand Prix discussions and stuff like that...

🤦

🤣🤣🤣

Only people under a Presidential decree go into quarantine.
And since the President is stuck in quarantine himself, everyone else stays free.
As for starting topics—I can whip those up myself—and I'll get them all posted this weekend.
Just relax.
There's really no point in dissecting airflow specs in detail on the Forum....
Hey neighbor, where'd you disappear to?
Maybe you're stuck somewhere out in Ukraine?
Anyway, what are we thinking about these initial tests...

Red Bull and Germany are just sticking to the hard compounds...
I remember one year, Germany ran nothing but hard tires through the entire testing phase...

The softs don't really change the game during the race anyway
They last maybe 10-15 laps before you're basically screwed
🤦🤦🤦

Glad testing is finally getting underway
Dammit, I was just about finished
it didn't even last an hour
that stupid pink color...

but hey, at least I can watch the replay..
What’s the deal with Neighbor 2 skipping the Alpine F1 live stream?

Whether that's actually a good thing or not remains to be seen.

At first glance, nothing seems out of the ordinary, but I get the feeling it's much narrower than the rest of the field...

It would be really interesting to see a side-by-side comparison of the Mercedes, McLaren, Williams, and Aston Martin cars...
They don't seem to share much in common, which is pretty strange considering they're all running the same power unit...

Seb, you've got a mess... luck is just gone today.
I just happened to stumble upon a statement from Lapan Elkan on some Italian site.
The man says—and this is my own loose translation:
"The F1-75 was created to honor the spirit and memory of Enzo."

So, we're looking at zero chance.
Every single ingredient required for a complete failure is present here.
It reminds me of those clueless commentators you see in any sport over here.
Right when they start lecturing about what our teams or athletes "should" be doing, the exact opposite happens on the field.
And knowing how things work over there, they probably don't give a damn anyway...
The only people who actually know if or when Ferrari will ever be champions again are the Tarabić brothers.
Since 2009, Ferrari has been stuck in this exact loop.
At the start of the season, they’re all over the news promising miracles and smashing qualifying records...

Then, right around the time we hit the mid-season stretch near Barcelona—or at the very latest by Monaco—they suddenly switch up their tune:

"We're already focusing our efforts on next year's car..." and all that other nonsense.

It's the same story this time... plenty of hype early on, but once those bad qualifying sessions and poor results start rolling in, they'll be scrambling like rats on the Titanic.
Ferrari looks terrible—zero aero, way too heavy, slow, and honestly, just a total mess
Given that Binotto was out there back in 2019 claiming Ferrkan was going all-in with every resource for 2022, I’d say they didn't build a car—they built a disaster...

Ferrari isn't going to find any luck until they bring in some outsiders to take over the management seats...
The Italians should just hire waiters and let them handle the catering at the races instead...

Unplug the router and pack up the cables

I'm just glad Vettel managed to get away from them in time
At least he saved himself a few years of stress—that's a win in my book

We were out digging trenches near the local playground by the apartment complex last night... had to move a kid's swing set and everything. I haven't even had a chance to get through the paperwork, and ten people have already slipped away today. Just give it a little time...

It's about damn time you came back, Kerefek76.
Please, try to steer clear of the Economy discussions—the topics here tend to be just as messy as the actual economy itself.
Pointless stuff.
Hopefully, things will be a bit better over here among the skeptics.

Watch out for Omicron and all that other nonsense.

I was just about to ask myself that.
You beat me to it.
Do you have any connections over in Fiji?
😁
Fine, I’ll accept the penalty for Max—purely for the sake of formality since he didn't follow the rules.
But when are we going to see a penalty for the other team? Their blatant disregard for the regulations was already an issue yesterday.
Or maybe they just ate the rulebook.

Asking for a friend.
That’s what happens when you decide to plow through a pedestrian at a crosswalk—especially one with the walk signal active.
Just some friendly advice—don't let it happen again.
🤦
If the FIA actually sides with Mercedes regarding Max's little "middle finger" incident with their rear wing,
then they might as well ban Mercedes from racing at Interlagos altogether—both today and tomorrow. I mean, if a wing can be compromised by a mere flick of a finger, imagine what would happen to the aerodynamics when they're hitting 230 mph on the home stretch.

That "middle finger" of Max's is a real problem.

Bottas was brought in to do exactly that.☕
At the end of the day—Toto made it pretty clear when he was looking for a replacement for Rosberg—that they picked Bottas specifically because he isn't a troublemaker. He wanted a team without drivers constantly clashing with one another, or whatever the official line was...

Anyone actually following Formula 1 who isn't willfully blind or deaf knew Bottas was signed to be a pure No. 2 driver. He certainly knew it too, and I'd bet anything it's baked right into his contract.
It’s nothing new in the history of this sport—there's always been this dynamic, and there always will be.
In all honesty, being the support driver has been his sole mission during his years at Mercedes, and Bottas has been more than compensated for it.
If he hadn't agreed to those terms, he wouldn't have seen the money—and he probably wouldn't even have a seat in Formula 1 anymore just like his former teammate Massa, who was essentially the same kind of reliable team player...

There was once a contract where the hierarchy was explicitly laid out, but let's face it—those agreements go out the window if the second driver happens to be a hundred-time GP winner and a multi-time world champion on the level of Schumacher...
Back in the mid-80s, there was a similar setup regarding first and second drivers, and that agreement wasn't respected either, despite what the Italians might claim about their honor...
Interestingly enough, both of those second drivers were British...
You'd think they'd have more pride, given how much the Brits tend to dislike playing the supporting role...
Then you have the 2009 Brawn case, where Rubens was basically sidelined to ensure the British driver didn't lose his edge...

There's plenty of nonsense like that out there.

Unless it's an Austrian team—then maybe a driver from the Commonwealth can get away with being the No. 2...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Remembering Ayrton Senna in Formula 1 ·
There’s this guy living over near Imola who spends a lot of his time walking the inner side of the Tamburello circuit—it’s basically a park there—and he frequently posts some pretty interesting shots to his Facebook feed.
Here is his latest one:

I’m just not entirely sure if this belongs here or in that other thread—you know, the "Post a photo and guess the driver" one...
To wrap up the US Grand Prix, here’s one last shot.
The top two are some incredibly attractive women—though you can barely tell, honestly. Everything is covered up, almost like something out of Afghanistan.
In the third photo, you've got a younger Charles Leclerc driving in Formula 3. This was taken right after Sunday's race.
The fourth photo shows Correa, who just made his return to Formula 3 racing after that horrific crash with Anthoine Hubert a couple of years back. You can clearly see him limping on his left leg; he's been through the absolute ringer with surgeries.
Taken following Sunday's race.

Cheers, everyone.
I'll be starting a new thread for the US Grand Prix soon—I'm heading to that race myself.

graniteharbor502 said:swiftmaker12, sorry you missed out on the live action. They could have pushed the race to tomorrow—though I honestly wonder if Bernie Sanders would let them keep things moving if it meant leaving certain people at the top of the standings...

This marks my 57th live race—I'll find a way to cope, I suppose.
I'm not losing much sleep over it; between camping gear, gas, and food, I’ve got enough expenses as it is—plus, I'd be staying through tomorrow anyway. At the end of the day, money talks. Having fans in the stands is just a way to make sure the race is officially logged as "held"—that way, nobody has any legal ground to complain or demand a refund.
Everything actually turned out exactly as planned. About 80% of the crowd were those deer-hunting types from the Netherlands; their favorite driver took the win, narrowed the gap, and kept NASCAR intact.
Not that anyone really listens to us little guys—the small fry, if you will.
We're just the background noise to the big players.
