The Norway-Iceland matchup is kicking off shortly. Just a heads-up for anyone who might be looking for it—you can catch the broadcast on the other channel if you need it...

They’re certainly going after that win, but mark my words, they’re going to choke when they hit the X factor... 😁

I honestly think there’s a much higher probability of Iceland pulling off an upset than there is of us actually walking away with a win.😁

The real headache, though, is just how much they stand to gain if we end up dropping this one... 😁

I’d say this exact sequence has played out at least four or five times by now... yet somehow, the turnover always gets pinned on Balić.😁

Even when Buntić is out there commanding the field, the ball still has a way of finding its way to Čupić...

I’m genuinely dreading this matchup. Up to this point, we haven't actually played particularly well; we've just been incredibly, incredibly lucky... But let's not forget that Iceland practically had us on the ropes... If we find ourselves heading into the final ten minutes against the Danes trailing by a significant margin, we're going to be in serious trouble. These guys aren't superheroes, per se, but they are substantially more polished than Ukraine, Austria, or Russia—and in those high-stakes moments, they possess a much stronger mental edge than Norway or Iceland...

By the way, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Iceland chokes... The Norwegians have absolutely nothing to lose in this game, whereas Iceland is sitting right on the edge...
Honestly, I think we should just pass a federal decree in America to ban every single sport imaginable, leaving nothing but cross-country skiing on the table... 🤣🤣🤣

What are our odds against the Danes—or rather, how do the Norwegians stack up against the Icelanders?

Just standard tournament talk. To clarify, if two or more national teams end up with the exact same number of points, the tiebreakers follow this order:
1. Points earned specifically in games played against the teams involved in the tie.
2. Goal differential within those specific matchups.
3. Total goals scored in those specific matchups.

...after those are exhausted, you move on to overall goal differential and total goals scored throughout the tournament...

Looking at our current situation...
Iceland vs. Denmark: 27-22
Denmark vs. Norway: 24-23

So, the Danes are sitting at a -4 differential with 46 goals scored, the Norwegians at -1 with 23, and the Icelanders are at +5 with 27. For the Norwegians to overtake Iceland, they’d need a victory by at least four goals, assuming the Danes lose to us... 😁 If they only win by three, they’d match Iceland's +2 differential, but Iceland would necessarily have one more goal scored under their belt...
Look, man, they’re scattering them across the field like trash in a vineyard; I honestly didn't see that coming... 😁
We actually fared quite well when dealing with Iceland... 😁

Slow down now; it’s a long road to the finish line... ☕

I have every confidence that our American cowboys will outmaneuver those troublesome Austrians and herd them right into the corral. Once that's settled, instead of hearing some grating yodeling echoing through a Viennese ballroom, we'll finally be treated to the sweet, melodic harmonies of a thousand brave American voices singing like a true Mermaid...

It seems like everyone is playing baseball these days...
It’s a pretty straightforward scenario: if Iceland backs down from the Russians, we come out on top... 😁
Is anyone keeping an eye on the Mexicans? The ticker is showing 21-21...
Gregory Chavez said:Honestly, I just don't get it—where on earth was the goalie? What was he even doing wandering outside his box? 🤣 Absolute morons. 🤣

This is quintessential Iceland... you rarely see a group choke quite like this. 🤣

Good grief... 🤣🤣🤣
Gregory Chavez said:I suppose so. Though, if I’m being honest, I have a feeling that after that messy, chaotic draw, the boys might actually pull together and play a really solid game tonight. 🙂

Everything you're saying holds water, but the absolute first thing you all need to keep in mind is not to fall apart if these guys come charging at us like the Tatars... Because, frankly, the Danes are one of those rare teams that genuinely terrify me... They have this capacity to absolutely demolish anyone if they find a crack in the defense. They aren't exactly the type to back down, especially in a situation where just grabbing two points tonight guarantees them advancement...

What I am trying to get across is that the draw between Iceland and Austria isn't exactly something we should be celebrating. That result essentially hands the Austrians a golden ticket to play in the final match of the second round, regardless of how things shake out for you guys today.

Just make sure that if you do end up blowing it, you do so by a margin of less than four goals... 😁
Gregory Chavez said:Equal, well done 👋

Tonight, if we pull off this win, we’ll be marching straight toward that top spot ☕

But if you guys lose? You're looking at a very real risk of getting knocked out of the group stage entirely... 😁

Happy... 👋👋
So, we're looking at 48 teams split into 12 groups of four, with only the top two advancing... I mean, when you compare that to the previous format of 40 teams in 8 groups of five, it doesn't exactly feel like an outrageous expansion, does it?
