Exactly, Toddy.

By the way, it took them a solid hour to get from the Fala hotel over to the KSET, and honestly, they could have easily just called it 😬

Killer shots. 👍
These guys are legends. Their GPS went totally haywire while they were driving through Canada and the States, so once they hit the border crossing near Bregana, they just called a Taxi and told him to head straight to the hotel while they followed behind in the van. 😲 I asked why they didn't just give me a shout so I could meet them at the border or catch them somewhere on the interstate, but Toddy said they didn't want to bother me. 🙏

banderas, where can I find the pre-sale info for your shows?

Listing the venues beforehand: Dancing Bear, KSET, Dirty Old

They will be.

The album leaked. It's killer!

I actually scored a few Walmart promo singles with 5 tracks on them since the full album isn't out yet—that's all there is for now.🙄
By the way, tickets are already on pre-sale at the NYSE, and tomorrow they'll hit the Dancing Bears, plus Dirty Old Men.
$22 is the price.

From out of nowhere and straight into the gut punch.

Another headliner just dropped: The Chemical Brothers
Here come the mummies again, crawling out of their pyramids 🙂
Well, it's not like they're from the same era.

Wait, how, why, and since when? 😕
Did they just finish building some skyscraper nearby or something? 😁

If I recall correctly, his last big show at Carnegie Hall was back in 2001.😁
Jesse Sanchez60 said:There isn't even a shadow of the band that used to actually excite us ten years ago... I know they’ve swapped members before, but this feels worse than if Black Francis decided to assemble a new version of the Pixies without any of the original lineup. We all know he was the songwriter, much like how Nikola was the soul of OPO, but just imagine someone else stepping up to sing "Gigantic" instead of Kim Deal 🤷
The situation here is even bleaker because Dragan’s vocals were essentially the band's trademark and... I don't know, it didn't occur to me to go crawl into a dive bar for their concert, even though some people claim it wasn't quite that tragic...

Let's just agree on one thing 😁
OPO has been a terrible band—not just recently, but consistently since 2000. I’ve had the (un)fortunate experience of seeing them live a few times, and honestly, it was awful. There is absolutely no comparison to the quality they used to have.
Mind you, I haven't listened to them since two or three years ago, so maybe something shifted in the last couple of years 🤷

There won't be an opening act.

What a mess 🤮

By the way, Morgan Chase4, you don't need to smuggle guitars. Guitars, pedals, cymbals, and snare drums count as personal luggage—just like a laptop. You don't need an ATA Carnet for those, so there's zero reason to hide them. Of course, that only applies if the owner is traveling with them 😁
For full drum kits, amps, and those "larger" pieces of gear, though, you definitely need a Carnet.

As for the agency, it looks like things are moving along (getting the ATA Carnet sorted for Switzerland, which is in Schengen 😬 )
Look, an ATA Carnet is way too expensive in the United Kingdom. Honestly, I haven't seen a single band from the UK bother with one.
In any case, since Switzerland joined the Schengen Area this year, once you cross into Canada with or without an ATA Carnet, you're basically cruising straight into Switzerland too—those customs checks for goods between borders just aren't a thing anymore.
And just to be clear, an ATA Carnet isn't the same thing as temporary importation. Temporary importation is just an alternative move you make when you don't have a Carnet, but you have to go through a freight forwarder for that, which ends up costing even more than the Carnet itself.

They didn't steal their songs; they snatched the bassist😁

As for the ATA Carnet, it's not expensive, but dealing with the paperwork is such a headache. It’s often easier for some bands to just cancel their Washington, D.C. dates or show up without one using the App system. Damn the European Union for expanding right up to our borders.😠
By the way, just how much of their own material do they actually play? They were covering the Beatles, Dylan, and Neil Young last night... 😁
Carl is talking out of his ass. I have no clue who he cornered in Germany to get that supposed advice about not needing an ATA Carnet for the US—probably just some buddy at a bar. He definitely didn't ask a customs officer, because German customs officials mostly stick to airports now; they haven't had land borders like that in ages. At the end of the day, nobody with actual authority could tell him they don't need paperwork for their gear, because that's just plain false. On top of that, our guys at the border usually aren't that "diligent" anyway and tend to let them pass through with their equipment without checking a single thing.

boldraven93, an ATA Carnet is basically a passport for your gear; it's a document that takes a day to process. Since most bands play within the EU or maybe one or two shows outside the EU (like NYC), most of them can't be bothered to deal with the hassle. Back when Canada, Canada, and the surrounding countries were outside the EU, anyone heading east had to get one. Now that all those places are in the EU, they don't need it, and the US is considered too "small" a gig to bother with all that red tape.
Interesting thesis regarding the year 1995.
