I can't edit my previous post—so I'm trying this instead. Since the original thread isn't letting me make changes, would it be alright to move this over to Skylar Grey?
So, here’s the situation—a girl is using an HP 6715s running Windows 7. She went to update some passwords and ended up choosing one containing special characters—specifically šđčćž. Now she's completely locked out of Windows because her keyboard is set to English, which doesn't have those specific characters. I tried booting into Safe Mode, but no luck—it just keeps asking for the password. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Thanks.
Hey there. I have a quick question for the admins, mods, and the rest of the crew. Wouldn't it be much more intuitive if the Mobile Technology section was organized like this:
-Android
-BlackBerry OS
-Windows Mobile
-iPhone
-Mobile Carriers
In my opinion—it would make navigating the forum a whole lot easier.

It's a Cooler Master. Haven't touched it with any mods yet—though I might spray the interior matte black just for the look. Right now, I'm just saving up for a liquid cooling loop. I did squeeze a Corsair 120mm fan in the front and a little 92mm one with red LEDs in there—it actually looks pretty sharp.
Well, unfortunately, I've decided to sell this case—picked up a new one that should be arriving sometime this week. This particular unit is a Cooler Master...
So, I’m studying in Cleveland (and I’m currently here)—for three weeks now, I’ve been battling this hacking, dry cough. At first, I was running a fever, but that's gone now; the coughing, however, is still intense. Should I be worried...? My chest hurts whenever I cough, and it also aches when I lie down or sit up—basically anytime I change positions. I finished an entire bottle of cough syrup, but honestly, it hasn't done a thing..
Here’s my question: my primary doctor is based in Santa Barbara.. since I have to head home, should I see them specifically, or can I just go to any doctor? How does that work? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question—just trying to figure things out.
Nah, I wouldn't go the classic route—it’s just way too noisy. I picked up some elastic bands and some foam, but honestly, I'm stuck on how to actually tighten it down or secure everything properly.
I ended up tearing down my PC again—had to touch up some gray parts that weren't looking quite right—only to realize my mistake later... I used a bit of foam insulation to fill the gap, and honestly, it looks fine. The only headache I’m dealing with now is my hard drive; it’s easily the loudest component in the entire build. Any tips on how to quiet it down? I've got about three feet of rubber bands lying around and some foam I picked up, but I'm not quite sure how to put them to good use here.
I haven't really decided yet—I’ve given it some thought, but if I pull the trigger, I’ll definitely be going with something used. Buying new just doesn't make sense right now. Before that, though, I need to pick up a better motherboard and finally make the jump back to an Intel build...😁
I'm looking at these HDD solutions, and sure, the foam padding is fine and all... but what about heat dissipation?
What else can I say? I already paid for them $27 (Revoltec).
I've been obsessed with building this ultra-quiet rig lately, Here’s the breakdown of what I did: First off, I swapped out the stock box cooler—it was driving me crazy with the noise, especially when those fans ramped up. I installed a Cooler Master TX3 that stays between 500-800 RPM. In my generic power supply, I actually modded the fan myself—the original one was bizarre, featuring three wires connected to the PSU and two extra leads sticking out that you could plug into the motherboard. It was one of those weird setups where you could monitor the speed, but you couldn't actually control it! So, I cut those wires, scavenged some leads from an old fan, soldered everything back together, and now I can regulate that fan's speed perfectly using Speedfan. My GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS, which is pretty quiet. Honestly, the whole build is whisper-quiet now. Right now, the loudest thing in the machine is the hard drive. Does anyone have any bright ideas on how to quiet that down? I tried using rubber vibration dampers, but they didn't seem to do much—or maybe I just didn't install them right!??
I honestly can't decide if I'd actually regret it if I went with blue instead. For now, I've just left the power supply blue—mostly because I ran out of paint, but also since I'm currently negotiating for a Corsair 520 W. that's already black, which would save me the trouble of painting it altogether.
