I started by sanding everything down thoroughly with some wet sandpaper—then gave it a good wash, let it dry completely, and moved on to the primer and paint. Honestly? It turned out incredible. (I also treated myself to two neon strips, though you can only really see one here)
I’m honestly on the fence about this—though, I have to say, some of the PC Modding builds I’ve seen on other forums look absolutely incredible... The real question is whether the paint will actually stick to that aluminum. My plan is to hit it with a good primer before applying the color—fingers crossed that does the trick.
I’m leaning toward painting mine too. I actually picked up a black kit recently—my wife was asking if I wanted a gloss or a matte finish—and man, choosing matte was the right call. It looks a bit underwhelming while it's still drying, but once it sets? It looks absolutely killer.
What’s the best way to strip a sticker off the chassis (that aluminum section)? I tried using warm water, but now I'm stuck with a mess of leftover adhesive!
Alright, I finally did it—the Love Parade case project is officially wrapped up. Just wanted to post this as a little trip down memory lane to see where I started:
The finish is black—but not just any black, we're talking a deep matte black. It looks incredible; I honestly can't wait to get everything assembled to see the final result. It looks especially sharp in these photos since the paint job is still fresh.
Quick question for you all. Most of you probably remember when I dyed my case blue back at the Love Parade. Now, if I want to switch it up to a different color, do I need to sand everything down and start from scratch—or can I just layer the new color right over the old one?🙂
Well, I really blew it. I think the PC modding turned out great—you'll see what I mean in the photos—but I totally botched the color scheme. I went all-in on blue, when I really should have stuck with black or some other neutral shade that actually works as a base for other colors. I’ve already picked up some black paint, so we’re going to touch this thing up and fix it.
Even Mike has finally jumped into the world of PC Modding. I took this ancient, beat-up blue case and repainted it a vibrant, unapologetic blue. It’s nothing groundbreaking—just a little hobby project—but hey, it works. The process was straightforward: I stripped everything out of the case, sanded the surface down smooth, applied a solid primer, and then went in with the color. Honestly? It turned out great—looks like it came straight from the factory floor. 😁
I'll post some photos once I get some space on my SD card. One quick tip, though—don't ever try painting indoors, especially if you're standing right next to white curtains... trust me on that one.😍
Steven Hayes80 said:I just had to vent about this—Windows 7 has been such a massive disappointment that I’m still reeling from it. I tried every single version, from the beta builds to the 64-bit editions once they finally hit the web. Not everything worked perfectly, obviously, but I figured they'd iron out the kinks by the time the final release rolled around. Well, here we are! Windows 7 Ultimate. The installation itself went smoothly enough. Surprisingly, all my drivers were available online without any hassle. The headaches started immediately with Firefox—it runs painfully slow. Pathetic, really. Tried Opera instead. Alright! That works, even if it feels a bit glitchy. Moving on. Nero, Winamp, and uTorrent all installed fine, but nothing actually performs correctly. For instance, uTorrent randomly kills my downloads and throws some nonsensical error—something along the lines of "files cannot complete because they are in use." Ridiculous. Then there's the system freezing for no reason while only one program is running. And then it loses my Wi-Fi password. You name it, it happens. Just for context, I'm running a Pentium with 4GB of RAM and a 256MB graphics card. To summarize: If I had to choose between Windows Vista and Windows 7, I’d pick Vista. At least it functions. Just kidding! I’m wiping Windows and moving over to Linux! Ubuntu! Goodbye, Microsoft! Seriously... fuck this. Cheers, everyone!!!
🤣🤣
You must have thrown stones at God, because apparently those specific versions you installed were total junk. Or maybe the rest of us are just geniuses! 😉
Get someone to fix it for you if you can't handle it yourself.
I wasn't referring to Benjamin Nelson8... no offense intended, Benjamin Nelson8. But Nicole—look, if you have a problem with something, you really ought to just say what it is directly, rather than talking in these vague riddles.

I honestly have no idea what the point of this PŽK PDF even is.🙄 The moderators are just playing dumb, protecting their own, and calling it a day. If that's the case, they should just delete it. Stop pretending. For instance, I reported a blatant injustice to RiD. Benjamin Nelson8 played dumb for a few days, giving me answers that weren't really answers at all—she mostly just ignored my questions. Then, just now, Smart stepped in and locked the thread. So, first there's the ignoring, then the silencing.👎 What is even the point of this subforum then?!😕 That's why I'm asking: is there any way to actually report a moderator to someone else?
Get used to the fact that on this forum, might makes right... And I don't mean just regarding this specific thread—I mean generally.
Thomas Hernandez21 said:It’s stated right above you—it's the Windows Vienna Transformation pack, and an early version at that. Basically, it was just a concept for Windows 7 back in the mid-2000s when everything was still under the Vienna codename. Most likely, it was just a user-made concept and had nothing to do with Microsoft. It definitely isn't related to any specific gadgets 😉
😁
I figured it was some kind of transformation pack—if it were an actual gadget or something similar, someone would have actually kept it.
