Honestly, I’d much rather go to a concert where they actually play music I genuinely adore—even if the band stays in the dark the whole night—than some show where I have no clue who is playing, yet I end up getting wasted and jumping around like a maniac for no reason. I guess that's just how it is.

Facts.

I wasn't really at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (except for maybe the last ten minutes, but I didn't catch much), so I have no idea what their visuals were like.
As for The Flaming Lips, I found them boring. Honestly, it felt like the people around me were bored too, though maybe I just can't read a room 😁. I had this feeling that the visual effects totally overshadowed the actual music, which annoyed me for a second. Eventually, I just sat there watching how many pieces of confetti would land in my drink and decided the music was fine as background noise for stuff like that 😍. But hey, that's just my take. I'm not a huge fan of The Flaming Lips (even if I've given them a shot before), so maybe that's why.

Anyway, it wasn't exactly a jumping-around, sing-along kind of concert. I guess I was uninformed and expected it to be more high-energy. Now I have no clue how many people were actually jumping and singing along in their heads. 😁

Well, it's basically when you think, "Yeah, this band seems cool enough," but your brain just refuses to process them. It’s like they're a transplanted organ that your body is actively rejecting.😢 But you still show up to the gig anyway. You wait for that one song you actually recognize, but halfway through, you start fidgeting like your underwear is digging into all the wrong places. Everything starts getting on your nerves, especially those people in the back complaining that the band is only playing hits, when you can't even tell which song is a hit and which one is just mediocre. So, you step outside to smoke, come back near the end, tell everyone it was "actually alright," head home, forget the whole thing ever happened, and just feel glad you checked that last Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival off your list.😕

Personally, I think the band is great even with all that extra crap 😁, but hey, whatever, to each their own.

But my take? A truly good band should sound good without the fancy visuals, the lighting rigs, or a massive budget.

Look, I don't know. I've been to plenty of shows—bands I actually love, bands I pretend to like just to fit in, and bands that drive me absolutely insane—but this was the first time I felt genuinely let down by the actual music. Maybe I just got too distracted by Wayne's constant rambling between songs.

And those ridiculous, oversized hands at the end? Total nonsense. 🙂

I guess what really gets under my skin is how everyone turned around afterward claiming The Flaming Lips were the highlight of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
I saw that coming the exact second he started rolling around in that moronic ball through the crowd. 😠

(Though, if I'm being honest, the ball is pretty cool. I spent an entire day at Disneyland just watching people walk around inside it. 😢 :isus: )

God, how can a group's favorite concert ever be a band they haven't even heard of, let alone listened to 😕? Either they've seen one and a half shows in their life, or they just FAKING love confetti. I really hope it's the latter.

Anyway, it's not like The Flaming Lips were all bad, but I wanted to point out how weird it looked from the side when you ignore the props. To be honest, I actually liked the band better before this Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival thing. Even though I wasn't exactly a huge fan. But hey, I guess I'm in the minority, lol.

Honestly, the opening acts were just boring. And I have no idea what the crowd in the front two rows was thinking, but that singalong during "Still Learning" was pretty pathetic. I’d go as far as saying he wasn't even there. The vibe was just rotten. Aside from the confetti and the balloons <3

I’ve gotten used to it arriving on exactly day 28 at the same damn time every month, so I guess it’ll be weird adjusting to this irregularity.
But whatever, that’s the least of my worries. It's not like I'm panicking or anything, I just feel exhausted these last two days, though maybe it isn't even because of that.

I’ve been on the pill for two years straight, and I just finished my last pack this month. What am I actually looking at now that I'm stopping? I read somewhere about stuff like hair loss and absolutely chaotic periods. Is that legit?😢

Second thing—if I ever decide I need to get back on them (God forbid 😕), will having taken this break make things worse than if I had just stayed on them continuously?
