Ultra boring? It lasts what... maybe forty-five seconds? And I guess it’s not meant to be entertaining; you’ve got the rest of the movie for that.
It’s this incredibly intimate, deeply human mother-and-child moment. If that scene wasn't there, the movie would just be some messy crap filled with Italian Latin vibes and random jumpscares involving deformed kids like some cheap horror flick. Now *that* would have been boring. ☕

So basically, I’ve probably sobbed through almost every one of my favorites.
The absolute worst were Dancer in the Dark and Requiem for a Dream.
Then there's Lost in Translation, Trainspotting, The Hours, and The Warrior and the Empress.

And as a kid, Dead Poets Society totally wrecked me—oh, and Ou been kept, my kept.

Mhm, and then there's this one specific scene that *always* breaks me in a movie I don't even particularly like. In Passion, it's when Jesus falls, and then there's that flashback where Mary remembers him falling as a child... after that, nothing else hits. Nothing during the torture, nothing during the crucifixion—nothing. But at that one scene? I can't hold it back. I'll be crying for the next ten minutes.

Sure, they’re moving, but honestly, I don't want that self-proclaimed expert in classical languages making everyone else feel inferior again with her posts about Iliad verses. That was just my thought.

As for the Iliad and Homer themselves, there's really no point debating their value; I think we all agree there.
I was actually thinking about brushing up on some Ancient Greek and the alphabet with a professor this year. Since I'm not a classicist, I only had two years of Latin back in high school, but man, I love it.
And Troy... well, yeah. If you can avoid that movie, you probably should.

shadowowl9 - No, it’s fine. I almost tripped up myself, honestly, mostly because I haven't cracked open a Latin dictionary in ages—I did way too much of that stuff earlier this year.
But whatever, that doesn't even matter. I mean, she probably knows it better than you do anyway, but still... her constantly tossing out those basic Latin phrases is just ridiculous.
