A brief introduction to the injustice that has been done.

In the world of philosophy, there’s one particular topic that always seems to get everyone talking:

The absolute best bits from the philosophy forum.

I honestly can’t decide if I should be laughing or just staring blankly at my screen. I was scrolling through some old threads today and stumbled upon this absolute gem. It’s one of those moments where you realize how much time we all spend debating things that probably don't matter, yet somehow, they matter more than anything else. It feels like every single time someone tries to bring up a serious topic, there’s always that one person—we all know who they are—who manages to derail the entire conversation with a joke or a completely unrelated tangent. It’s almost impressive, really. You try to build this logical, structured argument, and then *bam*, someone drops a meme or a sarcastic comment, and the whole intellectual house of cards comes tumbling down. I remember reading a similar debate a few years back, and the energy was exactly the same. We get so caught up in being "right" or being the cleverest person in the room that we forget we're actually supposed to be discussing something. It’s a bit self-deprecating of me to admit, but I think I’ve been guilty of this too. I’ll spend twenty minutes crafting what I think is a profound observation, only to realize I’ve basically just typed out a very long way of saying nothing at all. Anyway, I’m curious—does anyone else feel like online discourse has just become this endless cycle of performative intelligence followed by immediate chaos? Or am I just getting old and losing my sense of humor? Either way, it’s fascinating to watch.

Two forum members nominate other people's posts—since they aren't allowed to nominate their own—to be inducted into that Hall of Fame.

Even after three years of living together, my wife leaned over to me while looking at that PDF and whispered that it might finally be time we did a little inventory.

And then my muse gave me a little nudge of wisdom, suggesting that... To me, love isn't some grand, cinematic gesture. It’s much simpler than that—it’s the art of giving without holding anything back. It’s that selfless, quiet kind of generosity where you aren't keeping score or waiting for a thank-you note. You just give because it feels right, because seeing someone else thrive is its own reward. It’s about being all in, completely and without hesitation. 🙂 I honestly spent nearly an hour playing judge, carefully tallying up all the nominations for the best post on the forum.

5. And that’s something I can say with absolute pride. 🙂 The results are finally in! Someone just posted the full list of who racked up the most nominations for Best Post, along with all the other winners.

6. But then there's the moderator.Nica NNica She went ahead and deleted my work—and didn't even give me any penalty points for it!

Lisa Jackson7 said:Most atheists don't see it that way.

Both atheists and theists (who, let's face it, are all just believers in something) deal with some kind of earthly authority above them.
The lucky thing for theists is they can push back against those earthly powers by leaning on an absolute authority.

Atheists mostly can't do that.

Thanks for the deep dive.

Were you ever a believer? Have you actually felt what you're writing about?

bluemason3 was a believer and still is, technically—he just swapped faiths... now he's a positivist, a physicalist, a naturalist, a scientist... some mashup of all that.

It’s all true: Bell-Sauron has basically become a STEM 🙂 fun😵-damentalist,

but if you ask me, his defining trait is how much he glosses over the messy details while obsessively relying on negative cherry-picking

Maybe the end of the world really is just around the corner this time.

Are you agreeing just with the shovel part, or the whole post? 🤔

Aside from that, I’d say you and I have agreed on quite a few things over time, though we’ve definitely clashed on plenty of others too.🤷

Morgan Peterson6 said:And back to the psychiatrist again :-(
I can't even suggest that to him—he's just totally skeptical about psychiatry.

It seems Beljki is right there with me in my own ignorance on this one. Beljki also has a real distaste for psychiatry.🤣

He just tends to use those fancy linguistic structures, throwing in terms like "cognitive" just to make things sound more academic than they actually are.😁

As for me, I’ve never stepped foot in a psychiatrist's office because, honestly, it always seemed like a total waste of time.

Between the high costs and being pumped full of meds that just give you a temporary illusion of feeling better, it's a lot.

Besides, it’s an open secret that people have the capacity—and the responsibility—to help themselves.

Just look at the classic movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. A much better remedy than any shrink is finding community, staying active through sports, getting out into the mountains, or even just having a pet. Those are the true cures for all those imaginary ailments we obsess over.

MOTIKA 👍

The bottom line:

When a person finally learns to stop obsessing over themselves and lets their mind wander freely, the problems tend to fade away.😉

Well, if he decides to face the truth and its consequences, go ahead and tell him exactly that—and let him know it came straight from hiddenpuma75...

Tell him he’s incredibly sharp and perceptive, having grasped certain realities, but he’s also remarkably foolish and blind despite having perfectly good eyes.

Explain to him that he’s almost as smart as hiddenpuma75 because he’s managed to decipher one half of the equation: the fact that this world and life itself are overflowing with lies, false values, suffering, filth, sludge, injustice, terrible TV shows, awful people, and even bad moderators.

But then, point out his stupidity: he’s fixated solely on that one half of existence, completely ignoring the glaringly obvious fact that this world also holds a billion and one beautiful things.🙂 👍

If he continues—as we might expect—to whine about how he can't see those beautiful things, or how the bad stuff bothers him more than the wonderful stuff brings him joy, then give him the finishing blow...

Tell him he’s officially become a philosopher, and remind him that Camus once said the only truly serious philosophical question is whether or not one should commit suicide.

So, basically, tell him to finally grow up and embrace existence as it is, or to stop talking and actually follow through by ending it all—which would be his most consistent and final critique of life, the universe, and the number 42.😲

Morgan Peterson6 said:He’s in such a dark place—some days he even messages me saying he just wants to be erased, to simply cease existing. He’s craving nonexistence. He’s been on this deep journey of awakening for years now, soaking up all kinds of literature and life experiences... and now? He just can't find any meaning in anything. He says he hasn't found a single thing that gives him hope that we’re here for any reason other than being food.
He honestly views this whole world as a flawed piece of work—like something went wrong during the Creation. He thinks we're just programmed, living in some kind of matrix where entities stomp all over us like we're characters in a video game with zero free will. He doesn't find any joy in life; he's just deeply, profoundly unhappy. He can't stand the injustice and the sheer pain of this dimension. I can feel his sadness... and it makes me so sad just being around it. He’s one of those truly good, gentle souls... how am I even supposed to help him?

It really boils down to two choices, like a fork in the road:

You could ask him something like

"Do you want me to be honest with you? It might sting right now, but it'll be better for you in the long run,"

or

"Would you rather I tell you what you want to hear? It'll feel good immediately, but it'll cause more trouble down the line."
And here’s a statement for my attorney—who just happens to be a highly respected former moderator 👍
Happy New Year to everyone on the forum! 🎉

For me, this marks a huge milestone—my 20th anniversary of being part of this community. 🙂 🙂

==================================

It’s been exactly four months and five days (that's 125 days, if we're counting) since I sent two very straightforward questions over to the moderation panel, both of which have gone completely unanswered.

1) How much longer am I expected to serve this partial ban regarding religious discussions? (If I had to guess, I'd say I've been sitting in this timeout for anywhere between 7 and 10 years.)

2) Will this undeserved penalty—which honestly feels more like a moderator's personal grudge than anything else—finally be lifted so that our forum's version of Martin Luther King Jr. can finally be set free to write and create again? 🙂
It’s just wild how that indestructible Baphomet somehow manages to run the show as a moderator over all this magic and mysticism...🥱
But there's a genre update coming, and honestly, bluemason3 is a total troll 😲

I was hanging out on this sub about ten years ago back when there were actually some heavy hitters around... and apparently, bluemason3 is the only one who never got married, which explains why he’s sitting on 30,000 posts. Seriously... any woman would've launched him to Mars by now 😉

1. He's a good guy, sure, but let's not pretend he's the smartest person in the room. He just posts so much that all that noise tends to drown out the actual gems.

2.) He actually has way more posts than you realize; over 20 years on this forum, he's probably racked up somewhere between 60,000 and 100,000. 😲

3. Here is some "STEM-level" evidence to back up these claims, just so neonmarlin39 can rest easy. 😛
bluemason3 said:Well, look who decided to show up, my personal little troll 🙂 😍 😁

lonestag15 said:First off, I already told you—I'm done arguing with you. You aren't exactly pleasant to talk to, so just respect that...

And second, EEG research has wandered into these waters countless times... basically, Beljki has already discredited two guys... one because he uses murky terminology and the other just because he’s from India... apparently, the EEG results don't even matter to him.

Then there's Ljubis Stojanovic, who was measuring the effects of these practices ten years ago and publishing everything in detail... and honestly, what university someone graduated from has nothing to do with the validity of that work...

So yeah, both of them were dismissed purely based on Beljki's "gut feeling."

Furthermore:
The phenomenology of kundalini activation is well documented, but the psychophysiology is yet to be fully described and understood scientifically.

The present EEG studies explore some neural correlates and provide objective validation of a profound and transformative subjective experience. Kundalini activation is recorded as a high voltage discharge of delta and theta brainwaves, followed by increased Beta and Gamma power. The subjects report an ecstatic multi orgasmic experience lasting tens of minutes following the initial discharge. These pioneering studies aim to demystify this remarkable phenomenon.

after 25 years of laboratory Basic research in cellular neurophysiology, Dr. Acosta entered the field of QEEG (quantitative electroencephalography) in 1996.

Am I really supposed to keep wasting my time online, or are you going to find your own sources?

You’re a newer face around here, and honestly, you’re a breath of fresh air. 👍

Just a little heads-up: there isn't a single soul, masterpiece, molecule, or cosmic phenomenon in this entire universe—or even anything beyond N+1—

that bluemason3 hasn't tried to belittle, cast doubt upon, insult, or diminish through his trademark negative cherry-picking.

bluemason3 is an Istrian, and he's part of that famous trio of Zerve's protégés who have criticized, criticized, and criticized everything under the sun. 😁

He once even claimed the sun was the root of all evil on Earth—because, technically, if we didn't have the sun, there wouldn't be any life or problems to deal with! 🤣

Just to be clear, this post isn't a direct rebuttal to Dragan’s latest update from earlier tonight.

It’s honestly too easy to just get stuck in a political shouting match and reflexively argue against everything Dragan says just for the sake of arguing. I’m officially opting out of that cycle.

HERE IS MY TAKEAWAY:

The way I see the world is that women in any civilized society face the same ups and downs as men. Life involves suffering, regardless of gender—suffering doesn't care if you're a man or a woman.

The constant whining from certain feminists about "evil white men" has been effectively dismantled by people like Jordan Peterson and even Raspudić here in the States.

Of course, in primitive societies, life is undeniably harder for women, but that's a total truism.
It's difficult because, at that primal level, life is simply dictated by whoever holds the most power.😉

casualtiger2 said:Maybe we should actually define what we're even talking about here.
It started like this:

Flyer basically summarized my view in a single sentence, and my reaction was aimed at kavala's chauvinistic remarks, which actually end up proving Flyer's point.
So, if you want, we can debate this thesis instead: throughout most of human history, one half of humanity has oppressed the other, more or less, based solely on gender.
What men have done to each other—how much, why, etc.—can be a topic for another conversation, but not this one, because it's logically flawed.
The subject is tied to our main theme, "Ego and Spirituality," but we can get to that later (by the way, I’d love to hear your counter-argument, especially from a spiritual angle, since you've spent all these years preaching the necessity of believing in God and the importance of religion).

"78% of suicides are men" — women didn't kill them.
"68% of the homeless are men" — women didn't take their houses away just because they're men.
"80% of homicide victims are men" — most weren't killed by women, and certainly not because they're men.
"98% of military casualties are men" — women aren't the ones sending them to war or killing them there.
"92% of workplace injuries happen to men" — women aren't the ones injuring them.

Is that "acceptable" enough for you?

Since you're such a fan of statistics, here are some actual serious topics (unfortunately, you can't fit these into some YouTube comedian's punchlines)—
The Global Gender Gap Report just dropped.
Let’s be real right out of the gate—we have to acknowledge that these numbers are looking at the recent past. The status of women in certain societies (the ones still lagging behind, anyway) has actually improved a ton over the last 40 or 50 years. Plus, we can't exactly ignore the previous few thousand years of history, either.
[A quick tangent—it’s often possible to stay silent from...]Highly educated, well-off women—mostly in modern societies.Honestly, all this talk about equality feels pretty redundant—just like how some Black Americans in similar positions might claim discrimination doesn't even exist. It completely ignores the vast majority of women and Black people who actually feel that inequality on their skin every single day. We’re talking about centuries of oppression against women and Indigenous peoples—and we shouldn't overlook the massive struggle led by brave people who actually fought to bring about any kind of progress at all.

I find it unacceptable because you're obstructing the facts just to protect your initial premise—that throughout history, and even now, men have mostly oppressed women.

I wasn't even disputing that, so your attempt to debunk my statistics doesn't really make any sense.

The data I provided is meant to show that this world isn't some paradise for men, nor is it, heaven forbid, a paradise for women; both genders mostly suffer from the flawed design of this life's "holodeck," rather than fighting a gender war.

a) Regarding the homelessness issue, let me show you where your nitpicking leads us. If we keep arguing like we're at a flea market—where I supposedly defend men by shifting blame onto women, just as you do—we'll end up in an endless regression. It turns into that classic, circular argument you see in bad relationships or on political forums.😁

Basically, we'd just be descending into mindless whataboutism and finger-pointing. 🎉

1) If women were truly all sunshine, butterflies, and pure kindness,🙂 they wouldn't allow there to be so many homeless men; they would have ensured they had access to Safe House 2 facilities.😉

2) The fact that 78% of suicides are men means life is harder for men than it is for women. OH, REALLY? WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!

3) That 92% of workplace injuries involve men means men take on the tougher, riskier jobs, while women stay home painting their nails🙂 and avoiding anything dirty, heavy, or unglamorous.😁

Joseph Bailey41 said:I really can't bring myself to agree with that. (And I don't mean regarding the existence of fatherhood, but rather whether it's "normal.") It's all just flower-butterfly stuff. 🙂

Look, when I say that war is a normal phenomenon, I’m certainly not suggesting it's something desirable or good, nor am I saying we should go looking for it. What I mean is that conflicts—whether small or large—are a constant presence all over the world. And honestly, the most devastating wars were right here in our beautiful Europe that so many people seem to dream about.

There are countless causes for war, but it isn't as simplistic as our dear casualtiger2 thinks. It’s not just "men cause wars"—if that were the case, they could just take that 92% male fatality rate in combat as their karmic reward. 🙄

In my view, the factors leading to conflict include aggressive men, but also the women who drive them to such extremes. 😉 😁
Ego vs. Spirituality in Spirituality ·
casualtiger2 said:I guess those wars were totally necessary—that women just initiated them and forced men to kill each other.

Back in 1971, women finally gotthe Swiss Vote(in the canton of Vermont, not until 1990!)

First off:

You're missing the point entirely—here's what she actually means:

Let's be honest: life is tough for every man and woman out there. It’s just one of those inescapable realities of being alive.

It’s true—life isn't exactly an even playing field, and some people definitely deal with a heavier load than others. But at the end of the day, every man and woman faces their own unique set of trials, both those tied to gender and those that have nothing to do with it.

Complaining to women that they are too pale. 🙄 To claim that men in positions of power are inherently to blame for everything—or that life is simply easier for guys and harder for women—is a massive oversimplification. In most real-world scenarios, that kind of sweeping generalization just doesn't hold up.

Everything is so deeply interconnected, and there are just so many unknowns, that it feels almost reductive to paint men as the perpetual instigators of war while casting women merely as the creators of flowers and butterflies. 🙂 🎉 🙂 We're looking at this from the perspective of elementary school students and kids up to about 13 years old.

Your attempt to pin the blame for wars on those terrible men is just as ridiculous as it would be if I tried to argue that mothers are the ones responsible for wars because they raised those men. 🙄 Honestly, if they had truly embraced their roles as mothers and women, they wouldn't have raised such flawed men—the very same men their own daughters are now calling out for being so problematic. 🙄

By the way, conflict is just a natural, unavoidable part of being human. It’s really at the root of so many things.

It’s pretty obvious that some problems just can't be solved any other way than through pure, unadulterated struggle. Sometimes, you're fighting for your very life. That’s just the reality of things—it was true back in the days of America, it's true across the globe today, and it'll be true long after we're gone.

Of course, just because someone wins doesn't mean they're automatically "right." But hey, at least they proved they were the better fighter. To me, that’s still a step up from endless, empty chatter or just settling for the status quo.

Poor guys—women have been feeding them complexes for decades now, and honestly, it's going to lead humanity straight into the ground.

I mean, they should have been suppressed for at least 10,000 years just like men did to them (and even then, the world is still a mess), then maybe we could start talking about equality or this "inability to realize themselves as women" stuff.
PS
Joseph Bailey41, here's the gist—this guy thinks patriarchy was ordained by God and that women are second-class citizens (which isn't true, they're just slightly different; as long as they cover up with a veil or a burqa and stay home watching soap operas while guarding their virginity, everything is fine).
On politics, though—the guy is a total follower of that stable, "covfefe"-style fool.

Oh, come on, give me a break!

Men commit 78% of suicides.

Men make up 68% of the homeless population.

80% of murder victims are men.

98% of military casualties are men.

92% of workplace injuries involve men.
It’s been nearly two months since I submitted two straightforward questions to the forum's expert panel

1. How much longer is hiddenpuma75's probationary period regarding religious topics going to last? 🤔
( My own guess puts it somewhere between seven and ten years 😲)

2. Also, any word on my request to scrap this whole religious probation thing altogether? ...

3. I find it hard to believe the expert panel has just been sitting on this for two months, especially now that the forum's summer break is officially over.

My gut feeling is that
they either don't care, or they're just playing it safe by staying silent because they haven't made up their minds yet. 😁

Regarding that—it all comes down to evolutionary psychology. 😁

I watched this video, and honestly, it’s pretty much what I expected. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it gets the point across without being too loud about it. There aren't many surprises here, which might be a downside if you're looking for something groundbreaking, but it serves its purpose. It's fine. Not life-changing, just fine.
