I haven't even touched Windows 11 yet, but from what I hear, you can't really set up the Home edition with just a local account, whereas Professional lets you.
Why even bother sticking with Windows XP? I mean, Windows 98 SE is more than enough if you just want to play Solitaire, pinball, or listen to some CDs.
Plus, you've still got basic stuff like MS Paint and things like that.
And even if she did, what would my niece even do with a laptop like that? Windows XP is pretty much useless these days; you’d have to hunt down ancient software just to struggle through getting anything to actually work...
Maybe take out a loan to pay off the card, then just chip away at it slowly. I guess you could reach out to a consultant who handles this stuff if you're feeling lost, maybe someone like Progresso
What is that even going to be useful for? What motherboard are we talking about, and have you actually checked the supported CPU list? There isn't anything more powerful for that socket, regardless of whether you just swapped it out or not...
There isn't really a better CPU for that socket—I mean, there might be, but they aren't worth mentioning—so you've basically hit a dead end there. You’d have to swap out the motherboard, CPU, and RAM all at once. If I were you, I'd probably just upgrade the GPU first to see if that makes enough of a difference, though it really depends on whether you're looking for something new or used and what kind of budget you're working with.
I mean, your laptop—or rather, the SMART data—already told you it was toast. I guess I don't get why you were stressing out about it so much in the first place...

I guess I'd start by Googling how to fix this error, because once you actually get the Play Store working properly, you might be able to update your apps and things could maybe start functioning.

Yeah, sounds about right to me—Android is ancient, Google Play isn't working, and since they factory reset the tablet, it probably just rolled back to that prehistoric version of Chrome...
It’d be best to just pop in two identical sticks, but since we're talking about Crucial DDR3 RAM, finding an exact match might be a long shot. I guess just throw in whatever works and see what happens. 😁
8GB should be plenty for browsing, but how many tabs are we actually talking about here? And why isn't it using virtual memory?
You’d probably notice the biggest speed boost if you swapped in a Solid State Drive.
I mean, couldn't you just grab a smaller loan or find some other way to settle that debt? Using an overdraft is probably the worst move since those interest rates are insane
The issue is probably that the Android version on your tablet is pretty outdated. Most newer apps are optimized for more recent updates, so things tend to glitch out or just run poorly...
Are you using the same Google account on both your computer and your tablet? If so, honestly, the easiest fix is probably just using Google Drive...
