Man, walk us through it for those of us who missed the action.

So, what's the deal—why is Massa lagging so far behind Alonso? 😕
crimsonstag84 said:Heh, how was he supposed to defend? Mercedes was slower than a Caterham through Eau Rouge, and by the time Vettel actually hit the gas coming out of La Source after the start, you could already tell holding onto that position past Kemmel was going to be nearly impossible. 🙂

Up until Eau Rouge, I suspect Hamilton burned through most of his KERS while Vettel saved plenty since following in the slipstream was so easy. Hamilton clipped a curb a bit on the exit, which didn't help, but I don't think there was much else he could do. A 10s slipstream plus KERS and a bit more straight-line speed equals an overtake.

Maybe they leaned toward a wet setup given the higher downforce and that short RB-style 7th gear (196 miles/h limiter), or maybe they were just trying to find a balance with more downforce that they couldn't quite nail on Friday.

By the way, during those first 2-3 laps, Vettel was over a second faster in just the second sector compared to everyone else. 😂 That’s probably not just the driver at work. 😁 It looks like they absolutely nailed the setup.

It was the exact same deal after what I think was two pit stops—one lap after Alonso, and then he's hitting a middle sector that's a whole second faster than him during those opening laps.

What was I getting at?
I’m actually pretty happy with how Ferrari is looking. The car was fast in every condition—really fast. As for qualifying, I think that was just a lucky break.
To pull off a Red Bull Vettel combination today, you basically needed Alonso starting on pole to have any chance.
The Ferrari was powerful (almost like it was back in Barcelona) and Alonso was excellent, but unfortunately, it just wasn't enough.

The guy won the race with one lightning-fast move (one I didn't even see coming). I'm sure there was some kind of mistake by Lewis, but regardless, Sebastian Vettel's performance was flawless. I was watching the race on German TV and couldn't make heads or tails of the commentary. All I saw was that there wasn't even a hint of anyone closing in on the leader. Maybe the kid could have even been faster.

The only way things significantly change is if the cows die.

Now, I don't know if he actually lost traction or if he just hit the apex perfectly—but he had to lift off the throttle for a split second, and once he did, Vettel just had way more momentum through that corner.

I can't find it right this second, but I know there was this BBC interview where Webber was basically saying the cars were tuned specifically for clean air—so, yeah, even if Vettel had a crappy start like Webber did, I still don't think he would've pulled off the win. But hey, that's just how things go at ŠBBKBB.
analogpilot16 said:Mercedes was incredible in qualifying during the first half of the season, but they struggled so much during the races that they weren't really a threat to anyone—their tires were an absolute disaster on the Merc. But they've turned it around now; they can be competitive throughout the entire race, and they just keep getting better. That's why Hamilton is climbing back up the order.

It's not Vettel's fault he has a great car—honestly, who would complain? Everyone wants to be in his shoes. I just think Red Bull is still one notch ahead of everyone else, and I'd love to see Seb's true driving skills shine through—if you know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, he's a top-tier driver, but I still want to see how he performs when he doesn't have such a dominant car. I mean, look at the last race—Button couldn't pass him for, I don't even know, how many laps, yet Hamilton managed to overtake him in just two corners (right around those first pit stops).

At this rate, Mercedes is the only team that looks like they could catch Red Bull, and if they do, Vettel might lose out. Personally, I don't think he'll take the title.

I see you're new here. If you try posting anything objective, the fanatics will eat you alive. In this place, people act like Ferrari is a whole tier above everyone else. 🤣
Olivia Martin12 said:So, what is that actually telling us? It implies the car is running a completely different setup—it’s just not that simple.

Different in what way, though?
Olivia Martin12 said:Look, I gave him credit for an incredible start.

But why all this obsessive whining about him overtaking with a clearly faster car aided by DRS?

You saw what Kimi can do to Mass... absolutely nothing.

Nobody is questioning Obrvan's driving skill—but honestly, you people are making this forum unbearable with this constant nitpicking. It’s ridiculous. For the last year, this place has turned into a cult of obsessives and a bunch of trolls just waiting for a red flag or some technicality to screw things up, just so the fanboys will finally shut up for five minutes.

I mean, look how easily Vettel pulls away from Alonso—I don't remember seeing Webber blow past seven or eight cars directly on the track like that. 🤷
darkmarlin16 said:Now we're all just sitting here, twiddling our thumbs, waiting for TBF to roll up and confidently declare that 🤣fetl
was actually the driver of the race. 😂

A total snooze-fest, basically a scripted blowout 😍
Elizabeth Mendoza said:Two whole pages without even a mention of the Maestro. Is there a problem? Things just took a sudden nose dive here.

And that jealousy... 😍
Olivia Martin12 said:And honestly, this Kimi guy is a total fraud... he doesn't stand a chance against Baby in a straight line once things get intense 🙂

So I was checking out the speeds during FP3—Red Bull is absolutely crushing it, Ferrari is sitting in second, and Lotus? Man, they're about 10 km/h slower. They're basically bringing up the rear, no contest.
Wait, so how exactly did Button manage to pull off that DRS move? 😕
Right in front of Massa
What a genius commentator—this is just traffic going around a single lap, and then he goes, "Actually, I think that's Button."

Maestro 🙏
Maestro 🙏 🙏
David Anderson72 said:Fernando would have him if they could just figure out how to fix their qualifying pace.

Man, where exactly would he have taken him? I mean, even then, Vettel was only showing some serious pace in Sector 2 after that second tire change.

the promoter 😬
Brian Campbell36 said:And what about the weather? At this rate, we won't even see a single drop of rain fall 🤷

They just announced there's a 60% chance of rain—whatever the hell that actually means.🤷
urbanhawk17 said:Unfortunately, you have to pay for the VIP package, $13 which is a monthly thing. I ended up paying because I really wanted to catch some of the races, so I've got the VIP access right now.

The pre-race coverage has already started over on Sky Sports HD 😍

Do they offer any sort of special programming before or after the race, or do they simply broadcast the event from 1:55 PM to 4:00 PM?

Nah, they're basically just streaming the ESPN coverage, so you might want to check the ESPN site to see their exact schedule—to be honest, I've got no clue what their specific window is.
Brian Campbell36 said:Can anyone provide a link?

The sun is shining down on the Spa track.
