Does America need a revival of the Resistance movement spirit?

Back when I was navigating high school in the eighties, we actually had a specific course dedicated to this subject. Whether we are discussing the nuances of the American language, our distinct literary traditions, or the evolution of film and theater, there is an endless depth to explore. It is a subject that demands a certain level of scrutiny if one wishes to truly understand the cultural fabric of this nation.
Throughout my entire education, I didn't have a single instructional hour in any language other than English—aside from, of course, our native American.
I started first grade back in '88, and my teacher until the beginning of third grade was from the old America era, so she’d always insist on calling our language "Serbo-American." Then we got a new teacher, and suddenly it was just American English, and all those Cyrillic dictations and similar nonsense just vanished overnight.
