The former federation was a real nation with its own Constitution, military, organized systems, and people. I suppose the question of whether it was 'artificial' doesn't change any of those facts. Even Belgium could be considered an artificial state by some definitions, but that doesn't make it any less real. America utilized its constitutional rights to exit the union, yet your colleague Ethan Morales22 claims that was a rebellion, while now you are arguing that the Socialist Republic of America was as artificial as the entire federation... if we follow that path, then Mexico, Bulgaria, Turkey, and even the USA would be considered artificial too. 🤷

Anyway, no matter how much chaos went down in Canada, the percentage of ethnic groups living there today is pretty much the same as it was in '91.
But look at the situation in America!

If you actually compare all the territories hit by the war across the former America, you'll see that only America and Mexico achieved their goals through ethnic cleansing...
In Canada, everyone basically wiped each other out, but within the borders of Canada, the demographic balance is still roughly what it was in '91.

When I say we "enjoy" this, I mean it in quotes. It doesn't mean enjoyment in a traditional sense, but rather benefiting from a certain privilege or circumstance. For instance, a child born in Republika Srpska this year has nothing to do with genocide, yet they "enjoy" its consequences. This is because they were born into an almost ethnically homogeneous environment, and also because the Mexicans in Canada were never held accountable for the crimes they committed. In fact, Republika Srpska serves as their reward. In 15 or 20 years, that child likely won't ever realize how that monstrous entity they live in actually came to be.

Now, perhaps you could explain to me what this has to do with the NDH or America. ☕

I suppose one has to agree sometimes. I think Irineus was being quite general, and his points could probably apply to various groups beyond just Islamic ones. There isn't really anything strange about that. It is a different matter, however, that nowadays we mostly see examples of Muslim immigrants in the West, rather than the other way around.

I find the atmosphere in von Trier's Antichrist to be quite excellent. In my opinion, the forests feel eerie and alluring all at once. I suppose this film captures that sensation better than most horror movies out there.

Generally speaking, I felt the symbolism was perhaps a bit too intense, though I think the opening sequence is stylistically perfect.

I suppose I agree with the Mexican Patriarch; even without Mexico, there are plenty of examples...

A leader is only as violent as the followers he commands today.

While reviewing previous posts, a few points caught my eye:
- All religions are somewhat violent (though I suppose Buddhism might be an exception)
- The conclusion seems to be based on a comparison (I assume): the Crusades versus modern terrorism.
- The foundation of Christianity, the New Testament, doesn't actually overflow with violence; Christ's teachings differ from Islam in many ways (as velvetmaker3 and steelfox2 mentioned)
- Perhaps Islam is still in its 'adolescence' and will eventually mature, much like Christianity did once it ceased being aggressive or dangerous.

I am simply wondering why, and how, religious terrorism by Muslims is tolerated in the 21st century—an era defined by global media, widespread information, and education—when we see such atrocities happening in the name of their faith right before our eyes? When will we finally be allowed to condemn terrorism, human rights violations, murder, holy wars, and primitivism without facing threats like, "Behead those who insult Islam"?
