Jason Vaughn482 said:is, well, you aren't wrong there. While Mirtazapine certainly delivers on the promise of heavy sleep, you still end up feeling like a total zombie the next morning. At least, that was my experience; it did absolutely nothing to touch my anxiety levels. So, what's the current regimen? Did they put you on both the Paxil and the Mirtazapine simultaneously, or are you tapering off the Paxil now?

Tapering off the Faverin. Gonna try Luvox and see how it goes.

Jesus, this fever has me crashing hard. Not even at night when I actually need it, either—it hits me around 8 AM and just drags on until 1 PM. It’d be great if I didn't have to work mornings, because honestly, I feel like I'm on drugs. Just walking around half-asleep. Total nightmare. My doctor just put me on 15 mg of Mirzaten at night, claiming it's "perfect" for sleep. But then again, she says that about everything she prescribes.

Jason Vaughn482 said:Which one are they withholding from you? Is it Prozac, Xanax, or maybe Ambien?

Neither. I know all too well what happens when you try to quit cold turkey, but if you taper off slowly, it shouldn't be an issue. Right now, my priority is just getting enough sleep this winter instead of staring at the TV until 4 AM like I'm on Red Bull. Had a brutal summer, and this is honestly the only way I can actually unwind and pass out.

George Allen71 said:It says right there on the label that it's an antipsychotic... but man, it really knocks me out... great for sleeping

What does that actually mean? Did you put on weight from them, get any intrusive thoughts, or notice any phobias getting worse?

I need to get off Xanax. Funny enough, the day before yesterday I was down to just 25 mg in the morning and nothing else. Today hit me pretty hard, though, and it’s not even working anymore. Guess I’ll have to quit and switch over to Normabell.

Jason Vaughn482 said:I experimented with Prazin for a brief window alongside Sanval, but honestly, the results were pretty underwhelming. I've been on Sanval for about four years now, starting at 5 mg and eventually bumping up to 10 mg, but I can't stand how it triggers those late-night binge eating episodes. Lately, I've been looking into Praxiten; when I take it with a 5 mg dose of Sanval, it actually manages to knock me out. My only real dilemma now is figuring out the best way to balance taking the Praxiten in the evening while managing my daytime Xanax intake.

Man, my doctor won't even prescribe it anymore because I wasn't consistent over the last three months. Sometimes I take it, sometimes I don't. Lately, I've been taking it more often because stress has been absolute hell, but neither my GP (who's actually pretty understanding) nor my psychiatrist wants to write it for me again. Honestly, I'm too embarrassed to even ask them.🙄

My doctor cut me off my Seroquel for sleep and switched me to placebos. Haven't even taken one yet. What's the deal? How does that actually work? I’m also supposed to stop taking Zonadin (doc won't prescribe it anymore either). Anyone here on Zonadin or Sanval long-term?

Loved the first one. Just waiting on the subtitles for the sequel now. To me, the first part felt like Jack Bauer in Paris, and now he's stuck in Istanbul.🤣

Timothy Wood38 said:Well, Zoloft and Sanval are essentially the same generic, which is Zolpidem. Your experience is likely just subjective. Also, Sulpiride isn't an antidepressant; it's an antipsychotic, though yes, it gets prescribed off-label for GI issues. Just don't take it too late in the day because it can be stimulating, but there aren't any contraindications with Zolpidem. As for Celexa—well, Paroxetine is actually a very solid medication. And one more thing for everyone here who goes absolutely wild during medication changes: I've been there. In my case, adjusting the dosage was the most progressive move I made. Taking 60 mg of Prozac and 60 mg of Paxil daily basically brought me back from the dead. I don't need those high doses anymore, but the lesson stuck. So, please, stop playing games with your health and find a competent psychiatrist who actually understands pharmacology.

My doctor worked in a mental hospital on Maui. Thirty years, so I figured she knew her stuff. How should I have known?

Jason Vaughn482 said:Oh, give me a break; if that's the case, I might just have to start hunting for some Zayn Malik myself... what's the dosage on that one?

5 and 10 mg. I don't take it every day, but when things go south, I can't sleep a wink even with 10 mg. Once the issue is sorted, then I can sleep. For me, Zoloft is way weaker. It just knocks me out before I even realize it.🤷Seroquel didn't work the way they promised, so I quit after half a pill. Why bother if it doesn't work? Worst part is, seeing that it fails makes me scared to take Zoloft—I have no idea how those two interact.
One thing, my psychiatrist gave me Sulpiride for "stomach sensations." According to her, it’s for the stomach. Everyone raves about it, but it does nothing for me. And even though Celexa helped me back in the day, I stopped taking it two years ago because it turned on me. I was on the lowest dose and suddenly fell into a deep depression. Will it happen again?

Jason Vaughn482 said:Well, that unknown is essentially the same thing as Ambien produced by a major US pharmaceutical firm, and you mentioned previously that it affects you terribly... generally speaking, you can take 10 mg along with Xanax; I do it quite frequently myself because even 10 mg of Ambien fails to knock me out most nights.

Seems weird to me. Zonadin doesn't mess with me at all, but Sanval does.😕Then again, taking four Sanval pills is a different story than one Zonadin (I learned the hard way to leave my meds in my desk at work so I don't accidentally swallow the whole pack.☕

Quick question. Yesterday I took 10 mg of unknown around 3 AM. Nothing happened after two hours, so I was thinking about adding 5 mg of Xanax. Would mixing those be a bad move? (I felt wired, like I’d downed a Red Bull.) Or should I just take two 10 mg doses of unknown and call it a night?

fadedbear92 said:Waiting for a text back from my doctor—I took 3 Quetiapine pills last night and only managed about 4 or 5 hours of sleep. That’s definitely not cutting it, so I'm wondering... do I need massive doses now, or is the Effexor just keeping me too wired?🙂🙂🙂

Just got a reply. They want me to take 4 pills—and if that doesn't work, then move up to Seroquel at 100 mg. Ugh, seriously?

Mind if I ask what your diagnosis is?🙂

Does Seroquel kick in right away the first time you take it?

restlesstrucker15 said:Did you take it to help with insomnia? I tried taking half of a 25 mg dose three different times, and I won't be touching it again. While I did manage to sleep, I felt completely out of it the next day—it was like I didn't even know who I was.

Now I’m reading that Seroquel is on the top 10 most dangerous drugs.😲

Kenneth Scott41 said:I’ve been on Seroquel up until now, but my doctor, Sakoman, just prescribed this Quelapin that neither my sister nor my physician has ever even heard of, so now the pharmacy has to special order it. It feels like a bit of a pointless exercise, I suppose... since it's presumably just the same generic medication under a different name.😕
I guess Sakoman probably knows exactly why he chose that specific Pfizer version of Quelapin, though.

What kind of med is it? Asking because my psychiatrist recommended it, but honestly, I don't trust anything any doctor hands me anymore.☕Does it tank your mood? Make you ravenous? Leave you sleeping all day?

Timothy Wood38 said:Well, that's just zolpidem—basically a generic brand product. For me, only the 15-20 mg dose actually hits. 10 mg is way too low for me, too.

But how much sleep are you actually getting? Like, how many hours? Honestly, if you're on 20 mg and only getting 3 or 4 hours, that's not enough. I was cleaning the house until 4 AM last night, took 10 mg right before bed, and slept until 7. Then at 7, I popped 25 mg of Xanax and drifted off again.🤷Thank God I work afternoon shifts. Woke up feeling totally wired, with this weird tension and tremors in my stomach.😲

Got this 10 mg unnamed for sleep, but it’s a total bust. I take one at midnight and an hour and a half later I'm still just staring into space, eyes feeling like they're full of sand, wired like I just downed a Red Bull. Then I end up taking five more just to crash for three hours.🙂The label claims it gives you 7-8 hours of sleep!🙂Last night, after tossing and turning and getting maybe ten minutes of useless sleep, I took 10 mg at midnight, then another 10 at 5 AM, and finally slept until 7:45. Why doesn't any of this stuff work for me? I guess my body isn't used to it since I don't take it every day, but honestly, reading the side effects makes me want to gag.🙂To be real, a 1 mg Xanax works better for sleeping than this hypnotic crap.🤷

Jason Vaughn482 said:Which doctor at the Mayo Clinic are we talking about here? Honestly, they all seem to follow the exact same script—just cranking the dosage up to sixteen like it’s some universal rule. I’ve lost all faith in the whole system, so I just end up cutting everything they prescribe in half, or sometimes I don't even bother taking them at all. I simply don't have that level of trust in these medications.

No clue. Went once and that was enough for me. Same here—my doctor prescribes four or five different meds😲 like I’m some kind of lost cause. I just shove them in a drawer.🤷Especially after reading the side effects.

Anthony Lopez8 said:I am still waiting to see if anyone actually has anything substantive to contribute to this discussion. Is it truly too much to ask for a coherent thought instead of more mindless repetition?

Effexor is often labeled as a "heavy hitter," but honestly, I wouldn't recommend jumping straight into it unless you are in an absolutely dire situation or have already exhausted every other possible avenue.
Take that advice from someone who is currently in the final, grueling stages of cutting that substance out of my life—a process that is, quite frankly, physically agonizing. Let me be perfectly clear: once I am through this, I have no intention of ever touching it again during future crises, even if it feels like my last resort. 🙂

Strong?? My boyfriend's dad is on it and he’s basically singing its praises. He used to be a total shut-in, but now he’s out there building his own scaffolding and repainting the whole house by himself. No joke. I don't know who to believe anymore.
