Which auto insurance should I go with? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Don't be so selfish over a measly 30-$13 difference.
Just go with an insurance provider that’s actually decent—and let's be honest, nobody is perfect. You want the ones that actually pay out a solid average when things go sideways.
For me, based on my own experience, that would be USA and Allstate.

Ford Motor Company pays about 3 or 4 $0.00 less per claim on average compared to USA.
We'd all be better off sticking to the reliable options more often. Who knows when you'll be the one stuck in a jam and needing the help?

The stats show this track is heavily biased toward Ferrari—basically, they own it—so I’m expecting things to keep going in that direction.

Look, it's easy for the younger crowd. All they have to do is cut the Saturday night out a little short and be home by kickoff.
Me? I either have to head out with my wife or go to bed four hours earlier than usual. Take your pick.
Can you actually get CNN via satellite?
Warner Bros. in Movies ·
It reminds me of The Godfather.
I watched it a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, the more I chew on it, the more I actually like it.
Lost Valley in Movies ·
Great movie.
The symbolism and the message are masterfully put together.
What a pleasant surprise to wrap up this week of Oscars.

Only thing is, Susan was a little underwhelming. To be fair, it’s an incredibly thankless role. Tommy looks a lot older, but he’s great. Charlize was excellent.

Yeah. And she’s got quite the face for playing that bitch, too.

He’s basically just a vehicle for comedy; he isn't the one making people laugh, it's the audience doing all the heavy lifting.
I've always felt that producing actual, high-quality comedy is probably the hardest thing to pull off in film.

🙏
His filmography is pretty massive.
The Bourne Ultimatum in Movies ·
The movie just hit my personal collection, so I’m sure the comments section is about to blow up.

I missed one thing—maybe because the pacing was so fast:
where exactly does the word "ultimatum" come from in the title?

I finally have a little extra cash on hand, so I figured I'd ask.🙏

Yeah, you aren't gonna make a fortune there.
It's hard to let go of those things. Just head to a used bookstore.

I can't speak for Mercedes-Benz. Though, it’s possible.

Another company just popped into my head.
There was this guy, Šago—he sold Honda motorcycles. A couple of years back, I remember he had some gear, like shirts and hats, from the Honda F1 team.

BMW always had that kind of memorabilia, too. I used to grab their shirts and caps even back when they didn't have their own F1 team. I used to pick them up in New York City, but some idiot moved the shop out of town.

So yeah, they exist; I just had to remember. I was out yesterday, otherwise I would've chimed in sooner.

They have a book called "25 Years of Williams in Pictures" at the Michelle Wood3 shop inside Joker. I actually really liked it; honestly, I think it's worth the money ($53). It’s looking a little worn out from everyone flipping through it, or I probably would've picked it up myself.

So, what was the final verdict?

As far as I know, only the General Motors dealership carries those little things. And they’ve got them in spades.

How much can I overclock an Intel Pentium 4 using an
DFI LanParty UT N4F Ultra D motherboard????

I pushed my 3700+ Venice by about 25% (bumped the "fsb" from 200 to 250).
That was my daily driver for a year and a half. Not a single crash—even with free internet access. It was easily the most stable rig I've ever owned.
The board itself is incredible; you can pretty much do whatever you want with it.
Memory won't hold you back since you can run it asynchronously. Honestly, everything else is fine too.
At this point, your only real bottleneck is the processor. You're going to be limited by whatever speed that chip can actually handle.
Good luck!

Don't you have the TR Ultra if I remember correctly? You can run it at 1.5V, though personally, I'm against pushing a CPU past 1.45V constantly. It’s better to bump it up when you actually need the juice... then just drop it back to 1.3V for a steady 3GHz whenever you're idling 🙂

Yeah, the TR is definitely yours. (Had to swap it out again, unfortunately)
3 GHz feels a little low for me. You're right about that last part, but once I get this thing set up, I don't want to be messing with it anymore.
I'll try setting it to 1.45 and see how fast it climbs.

I used to think my RAM was the bottleneck, but clearly, it was just a subpar Motherboard implementation.
My situation is a perfect example of how much of a lottery overclocking really is. (But you've gotta make the most of it if you hit the jackpot on things you can't even control 😁 )

After about a month off, I’ve gone back to wasting my time again.
The big change is that I swapped out my Motherboard for an identical new one. At one point, everything just froze after I toggled a setting in the BIOS to save my profiles (there are two options). For no logical reason, the whole thing went black. No picture, no sound, nothing. I had to wait 15 days for the new board (MSI P35 Platinum) to arrive.

One thing I noticed right away is the massive Vdrop on this one. My old board actually showed a negative offset—meaning Everest was reading a higher voltage than what the BIOS reported. That might have just been some weird anomaly where the board was overvolting.

So, back to the grind.
This time the results are better; I've almost hit 4 GHz. I think I’ll have to push it just a bit further because hitting that number feels like a psychological milestone, and I'm right on the edge.

I managed 499 * 8 = 3992 MHz.
Memory timings are 4-4-4-15.

Voltages:
CPU 1.6250 (1.60)
Mem 2.20
FSB 1.475
NB 1.45
SB 1.8
SB 1.15

Super PI 1 M => 12.766 sec.

Everest read 9781
write 9035
copy 8352
latenc. 50.8 ns

Daily settings are Vcpu 1.5 V, fsb = 485.
I'm just not sure if I should run it at this voltage long-term.

Casey Williams5 said:Intel Core i7 or maybe stick to 2.2? I pushed mine to 2.7, but it freezes up on me sometimes. It runs perfectly at 2.67 though. I tried some Gigabyte tuning, but once I hit 2.8, it just hits thermal throttling.
I'll probably just leave it at 2.67 and see if I can squeeze out a tiny bit more.

Honestly, I think you're hitting a wall with the CPU itself. I had a Venice 3700 back in the day. I could only overclock it from the stock 2.2 just as far as you're going.
Same thing happened with my 3200. If I remember right, the limit was exactly 25%.

wiredmarlin5 said:Check Everest to see what the actual CPU voltage is. Your motherboard is likely dropping some juice via Vdrop. If BIOS says 1.55V, you’re probably actually sitting at something like 1.5125V or thereabouts. Go verify.

You could bump the FSB up to 1.5 and the CPU to 1.6 just for testing.

But don't bother if you're nervous about it. Those extra 100MHz you might squeeze out aren't worth the headache.

Thanks a ton!
I'll give it a shot. I need to watch how this thing cooks. I want to feel the heat coming off those heatsink fins.

It reminded me of when my old Pentium III used to hit 85 degrees while running DivX. Switching to an Alpha dropped that by 20 degrees.
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
I managed to hit 485 MHz, which puts me at 3880 MHz. I even touched 490, but PCMark05 crashed after just 10 minutes. I usually run that during a break just to get a quick baseline.
Couldn't quite break under 13 seconds on Super PI (13.109).

Here are the voltages:

CPU 1.55
Mem 2.20
fsb 1.40
NB 1.45
SB 1.8
SB 1.15

Keep pushing? 😁 I'm feeling pretty drained.

Obviously, I haven't run any actual stability tests yet. So far, this has just been a desperate hunt for more MHz.

wiredmarlin5 said:All things considered, you've got a great overclocking rig here. I'd bet you could push it toward 3.9 - 4.0GHz

I was worried about cranking up the voltage.
Honestly, I already hit my main goal (460 FSB ~ 3.7 GHz) without breaking a sweat or taking too many risks.
But now that I've seen the data and followed the advice, I feel emboldened to push further. It's pulling at me.

The Thermalright 120 was installed yesterday, all the monitoring software is ready to go, so everything is set for the next phase.
(I have to say, installing that Thermalright 120 was a traumatic experience)

The RAM is Kingmax, right?

Man, you're really feeding my Nvidia obsession here, aren't you? And honestly, I deserve it.
Though, I’m starting to feel a little something for this MSI board.
Not that I actually like them—I've hated them since day one. I only picked this up because it was my second choice; Abit was impossible to find, which just shows how much of a mess our market is, and even my old favorite, DFI, didn't have anything worth recommending at the time.

It's OCZ memory. Please tell me that won't be the bottleneck.
