The Intel Core i5-9400F performs just like the 2600, so don't go throwing $100

Peter Green said:The Riotoro enigma was never top-tier or even mid-range because the experts panned it immediately upon release. That specific gigabyte model is actually on par with Corsair’s VS series. I'd suggest bypassing it entirely just to be safe.

Some people would rather stay stubborn than learn anything new. Twenty years ago, I used to build rigs using cheap stuff like Codegen, MS, JNC, or MLN, and they’d hold up for a while. But nowadays, when you're putting a system together through $1667, acting like you know better than everyone else by passing up a proven, reliable part for an extra 100-$50 is just pure arrogance.

Then he should just set it to... $1667 Looking at reviews for basic office power supplies, you can tell a lot about how much major players like Linus Tech Tips actually value this kind of hardware.

The Riotoro ENIGMA G2 650W 80 GOLD power supply is basically a starship for my Gigabyte build.

Another Gigabyte power supply😵
I'm not saying they don't make decent units, but I can't find a single review for this one!!!
Tier C+ - Recommended for entry-level desktops, low-profile HTPCs, or office PCs.

If you actually want to be helpful, you should just suggest whatever you think is best from what's actually on the shelves instead of "advising" me like this. 🙂

Look, it's not that hard to just admit Gigabyte power supplies aren't great—stop recommending them.
A 750 W power supply? Honestly, Gigabyte is known for making mediocre units that are way overpriced, and you can't even find a single decent review on them.

Timothy Kim60 said:You didn't necessarily need to go for the Strix model. You could have grabbed a Ghost card for $1067

He can't find anything for a 2070 Super since he dropped the cash on an Asus Strix RTX 2060 Super $1400 while a Gigabyte Windforce OC 2070 Super is sitting at $4400😵

It supports E-ATX, ATX, microATX, and ITX motherboards. Since yours is an ATX, you won't run into any issues at all.

I'm looking at getting a Ryzen 5 1600 AF. $252 It’s half the price of the R5 3600, so if you aren't seeing at least a 50% performance jump, there's really no point. Especially on a 72Hz monitor, having a significantly better GPU for gaming matters way more.

I believe this is a Dell Latitude Elite Pro, which actually comes equipped with as many as 10 USB ports

Based on the photo, this model seems to have four USB ports on the front and probably four on the back, unless seven of them are just broken or something...

You can find one on Craigslist $333 with a Core i5 8600, a decent cooler, an SSD, and 16GB of RAM. I think you'll be all set for at least 2-3 years.

Adam Moore3 said:If the price is roughly the same, the RX 580 is definitely the way to go. I don't really see the point in pushing for an 8GB card if the chip itself is weaker overall. Sure, you might be able to crank up the texture settings, but you'll lose out on everything else—you're generally looking at lower FPS and just worse performance. For 1080p, 4GB of VRAM is perfectly fine.

An i5 4460 won't be able to fully utilize the 580

The XFX Radeon RX 570 8, xxx ED 1286M D5 3xDP HDMI is definitely the smarter way to go

If you're set on using that 16GB of DDR3, your only real move is hunting down a used i7 4770/4790 or maybe an i7 4770/4790K if you want to overclock—but finding new boards for that is basically impossible here. Personally, I’d just sell the DDR3 kit and put that cash toward an AM4 motherboard, a Ryzen 3600, and some DDR4 to fit your $833. Moving to an i7 with your old DDR3 isn't going to give you much more of a boost than what you've already got, so sinking money into used gear with sketchy motherboards is... 😵

Is Crucial an SSD worth picking over Kingston, especially if it comes with a 5-year warranty? Also, I'm looking at an ASRock motherboard with four RAM slots.$50
