So, the verdict is B: you’re basically sending me on a shopping spree just because you’re too lazy to get off the couch yourself.
Not a chance! :woman_with_rolling_eyes:

You optimists are really something else...

Alright, let me offer my own little constructive contribution to this thread:

Jose Miller17 said:You’re talking to the wrong guy here... I’m practically an outcast to certain people because I’ve never seen—and have zero intention of watching—those other shows. Apparently, "everyone" has seen them.😕 😁 ...Look, if you happen to stumble upon a plushie version, let me know immediately. It would actually make a great gift for me soon. :-)

Well, so there's absolutely nothing useful to be gained from you, then.😁
Are you actually nudging me to buy you a stuffed animal, or are you just sending me out on a shopping spree for someone else?🙂

If only I could find 😢
Or maybe just track down a plushie that has those exact same eyes 😍

I really need to figure out how to get my hands on those three movies; I haven't seen them yet 😳

This cartoon is absolutely wild. It’s packed with clever little bits—mostly wordplay—so my advice is to really lean in and listen to the dialogue rather than just relying on the subtitles.
There are a few translation hiccups here and there, but nothing that ruins the experience.
Tom and Jerry 😍

I also thought those penguins were great 🙂

I caught a showing over on Broadway recently. On Wednesdays, tickets for all screenings are $6.75, but the theater was practically empty—hardly ten people showed up. Such a shame.

I picked it up today at that little herbal apothecary over in the Capitol Center. It’s right by the first entrance you hit when you're walking down Tkalčić from the Square.
$9.00 🙄
I honestly just want to see if it’s unrefined, mostly because I have a soft spot for foreign terms that make everything sound a bit more sophisticated. 🥳
Look, I’m neither a nutritionist nor a biologist, which is exactly why I’m asking here. There’s no need to start lecturing me right out of the gate—I can't stand being patronized.

If you’re just looking for a synonym, "refining" is basically "purifying." But when we talk about sugar or other food components, refining involves blasting them with high heat and putting them through a series of industrial processes that I can't quite recall right now—and frankly, I don't feel like Googling it. So, the process isn't "purification" in the sense that you strip away the junk and leave the good stuff behind. That would be a dream, but unfortunately, that's not how the world works. It's why I'm skeptical; I always operated under the assumption that if brown sugar was unrefined, it would actually retain more minerals and beneficial nutrients.

I started a whole thread about this, so there you go...
But isn't the whole point that brown sugar is unrefined? 😕
I don't know, I'll just go start a new thread so we don't clog up this one...

Boozer said:I haven't seen that anywhere—where do you even find it? I only use their hand cream, and honestly, it's absolute perfection. 🙏 🙏

It’s a bit of a "ghost" product; they’re notoriously hard to track down. Last year, I managed to snag some at a pharmacy over on Broadway. I’ve switched to something else since then, so I haven't gone hunting for it lately. Your best bet is probably to ask the same place where you picked up that hand cream.
Thank god for Google 😁

So, regarding white tea:

The chaos has finally died down, so I’m going to jump in here with two quick questions.
1. What actually qualifies as white tea?
2. And what's with all this hype surrounding white versus brown sugar?

I’d really appreciate it if someone could walk me through these silly amateur questions without tearing me to shreds. Thanks 😁

That Neutrogena lip balm stick 🙂
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in Movies ·
Well, I finally sat down and watched it 🙏
I honestly can't wrap my head around why I didn't enjoy it more. I mean, the book was incredible, I’m a huge fan of Burton's style, I love Johnny Depp, and I have a massive soft spot for chocolate 😬 ... how could it possibly have turned out bad? 😉

To be fair, there's plenty to praise—the production design, the cast, the direction... everything was solid. Actually, pretty much everything except for those songs. They just felt off to me. Both the musical numbers and the choreography with the Oompa-Loompas were just... meh. I guess the last two (both the songs and the dancing) were slightly better, but still...

And then there's that "quote" from 2001: A Space Odyssey 🤣

If you haven't seen it yet, you should definitely give it a watch 🙂

Also, let's be real—Johnny is way too sugary-sweet in this 😍

...even with that ridiculous, bubbly hairstyle 😬
Thanks, kozz. You’ve definitely piqued my interest. If only I could actually hit the jackpot on a Powerball ticket, or at least land a decent job for once. 😁
I'm looking forward to seeing the penguins and Rize; as for the rest of them, I haven't heard a peep. 😳

We actually touched on this back in that thread about the last movie everyone watched, mostly because it had been playing on cable for months without anyone mentioning it.

Anyway, it’s scheduled to air again this Friday night (Oct 28) at 1:20 a.m. 🙄

It feels like it’s been an absolute eternity since anyone bothered to update this site.
It seems that way to me.

Just please, anything but Herzog, I beg you! 😁

Hey, wouldn't it be great if they actually included something by Tarar? I noticed you were posting over in the thread about Satan's Tango...
I haven't had the chance to catch any of his work yet, but I'm dying to see something.

I took a quick peek at IMDb and saw that Satan's Tango is sitting at a pretty impressive 9.2 rating. 😁
Fear? 😕
Look, it’s not that I’m actually scared, it’s just that the whole thing feels like an exhausting chore. Back when I was some 😬 hormone-driven teenager, I could spend hours obsessing over every little detail, but nowadays? It’s just a massive drain on my energy.

Or are you talking about those moments where you have to call up some random stranger or deal with a massive bureaucracy like the IRS... something like that where you just freeze up? I’m not quite following your logic here...

So, what’s actually on the horizon? Is there any real programming in the works?
I know they ran a whole series dedicated to Polanski last year, which I unfortunately missed 😢

Are we looking at any upcoming director retrospectives or author cycles?
