Quality, collecting, and the hype... in Music ·

Q: if you're exactly 16 right now—and since you basically own everything by Joy Division, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Depeche Mode, Paradise Lost, and the rest, can you tell me how many albums you buy on average, say, per week? Just pure curiosity.
if it's all burned, that's fine.

Hmm... I don't really track an average because I wouldn't want to deal with the headache of trying to count it all up. 😁 No, honestly, that's just what I've managed to collect over these last five years. But in about 97% of cases when I head downtown to pick up a CD, I try to find something affordable, usually something under $33 😁
Out of the stuff I own, I probably only have maybe four burned copies, while the rest are originals. As for other bands, it varies—some are originals and some are burned.

Oops. I have no idea what just happened there; I must have hit the wrong button by mistake. Anyway, Exciter is just software.
That being said, that’s why I currently own five out of the seven Depeche Mode VHS tapes. I didn't want to go out and buy those last two I'm missing because they only run for about 30 minutes and only feature two of the four music videos I've actually seen, plus they're priced at $130 $50 or something ridiculous. I'm really not looking to overspend on that. The only way I'd pick them up is if someone offered to buy them for me as a Christmas or birthday gift😁
Otherwise, once I really get into a band, I tend to collect every single one of their albums because I just need more and more of it. It’s like how I feel about Paradise Lost, Joy Division, Dead Can Dance, and Seraphim Shock. I also have everything by Rhapsody... though I tend to get tired of them pretty quickly since every album sounds exactly the same.
For everything else, I only buy it after I've had a chance to listen and decide that I actually like it.

I personally own every single thing Depeche Mode has ever released because I honestly feel like I’d lose my mind if I were missing even one album. Personally, I think they really hit their stride from '86 onwards, though I still have a massive soft spot for the vibe of Some Great Reward from '84. I actually went out and bought Exciter too, even though I absolutely hated it because that record was such a huge letdown for me. I was fully expecting it to follow the path of Ultra—something much deeper and more atmospheric—but when
What counts as "normal" or "healthy"? in Philosophy ·
It’s honestly impossible to pin down a single definition for it. I suppose you could try to draw lines between what counts as normal and what doesn't in certain specific contexts, but once you really start digging into the literature and studying the subject deeply, you realize that everyone seems to have their own unique way of distinguishing "normal" or "healthy" behavior from anything they consider "abnormal."

Honestly, I know this feeling all too well 😁 . It’s not that I go out of my way to be an outlier just for the sake of it, but rather because I simply can't bring myself to get behind what everyone else is doing or agreeing with.
People ask why I feel so isolated, and the truth is that most of the things my peers care about just don't resonate with me at all. That's usually where the friction starts. It has actually been pretty painful at times, being cast aside by others just because I see things differently or hold different perspectives.
On top of that, I make it a point to always say exactly what's on my mind and stick to my guns regardless of the pressure to conform, because I'm just not the type to be swayed easily.
So, where does the real issue lie? It's in how I approach communication and building friendships; I constantly seem to run into people who are my complete polar opposites, making it impossible to establish any real connection or rapport. For me, the whole idea that "opposites attract" just doesn't hold water.
I end up looking like a loner even though I genuinely want to be social 😁

Alright, I went ahead and took a look at that for you.

That would be great if you guys could tell me how to do this in English LOL😁 . Anyway, I think I've finally figured out that I can just rip a high-quality live Paradise Lost DVD onto that DivX format, which means I'll actually be able to watch it on my old laptop that basically only has a basic CD burner for any kind of advanced tech 🙂
Thanks, guys.

Could someone please walk me through how this technology actually works? I don't even own a DVD player yet, but I keep hearing people talking about these DivX files everywhere. A friend mentioned that he could rip a live performance from a DVD onto a standard CD so that I could watch it on my computer regardless of whether I have a DVD drive or not.
Is that actually true? I would really appreciate some guidance on this.

My dad is telling me right now that it won't be until January 10th. 😁 I'm really hoping he's wrong, so I'll probably just ask about it at school later today.

It’s honestly pretty wild how much I tend to go all out whenever there's a holiday break coming up. But if I'm stuck in class, I'll be doing the exact opposite, just sitting there and grinding through my studies.

So, where would I even go to find a decent club playing industrial music?

I wonder what else is worth checking out... Velvet Acid Christ? Is that the right name? I know I’ve listened to them before, but I honestly can't tell if I actually liked their stuff or not.

Thanx, Tyler Mitchell14. I guess I’ll be adding that to my list for Santa Claus too

If you were a guy, you’d probably run into some issues because you all tend to just chat in circles on the streets.
But honestly, not everyone is as lucky as my master's degree holder was 😁

Rebecca Gonzalez64, you’re basically my guardian angel at this point, aren't you? Honestly, I feel like 😁
And if you actually got to meet me in person... man, you probably wouldn't ever want to leave my side 😉

So, I’ve been listening to The Last Supper and honestly, the intro on Killing Eve is easily my favorite part of the whole thing. I'm looking to find something even darker than that, so I was wondering if SP has any other albums that lean even harder into that mood?
