Richard Walker38 said:What does charisma have to do with any of this?

He convinced the sponsors he was worth every penny.

Just so we're clear, buddy—charisma is about being persuasive, not just swearing over the team radio.

If your cousin is five, you're probably what, thirteen? Explains the top-tier quality of your posts here perfectly.

neonfox65 said:Valtteri Bottas is suddenly all about that charisma. Did you see what he pulled after his win👍 honestly, nobody's touching him now.

Missed whatever he did after the win.

But look—if he didn't actually sway the people around him or change how they see things—like, if people aren't actually shifting their attitudes or habits because of him—then that isn't charisma.

Richard Walker38 said:Fernando Alonso's got charisma 🤣

Cendravac, please—his charisma is basically non-existent.

Fernando Alonso is easily the most charismatic driver out there right now

If he wasn't, people wouldn't be constantly obsessing over him. Nobody would be up at the crack of dawn talking about him and Tibač, etc., etc...

Just because you personally can't stand him doesn't mean he isn't charismatic

Look at guys like Nick Heidfeld, Jean-Éric Vergne, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas, and so on... they're perfect examples of drivers with zero charisma.

Though the real question is how many titles Lewis Hamilton would've actually bagged if he hadn't jumped ship to Mercedes-Benz.

Just one—that 2008 win.

In this turbo era from 2014 onwards, nobody besides Mercedes-Benz had a car capable of winning championships. Nobody. Not even Ferrari 2017—regardless of what Vettel haters claim.

Honestly, it sounds like some utopian pipe dream—like trying to run a business without a manager.
What do you think the "Lewis till the end" cult would say to that?

Losing to Ferrari? Fine. But losing to Valtteri Bottas...?!? That’s a hard NO.
And that's exactly why it won't happen. Not a chance.
If they want to build a messiah, the image has to be brighter and more glorious, not darker—the guy and his legacy have to be bigger and better.
Anything else would be a total disaster. Bigger than the US Withdrawal. The UK would basically drown in an ocean of tears.

Mercedes doesn't give a damn about Lewis Hamilton or the UK. I mean, Lewis is leaving Mercedes soon anyway. And Mercedes isn't about to tie their entire success to just one driver—that just devalues them. It's way more important for Mercedes to be able to tell the world, "Look how dominant this car is; we won titles with Lewis, Rosberg, and even Valtteri Bottas. It's just that dominant."

Mercedes definitely won't let themselves get put in a spot where Lewis Hamilton can look them in the eye and say, "Without me, you wouldn't have any titles at all."

Mercedes learned their lesson from Ferrari and Michael Schumacher—they aren't about to put all their eggs in one basket.

Richard Ross11 said:Yeah, but Lewis Hamilton was already an MVP back then—Rosberg definitely wasn't. 🙂

We had Michael Schumacher winning MVPs and then seven in a row—so naturally, they just let them run over Nico Rosberg whenever they felt like it.

Not only was Michael Schumacher a 7-time MVP—he was basically the golden boy and favorite protégé at Mercedes-Benz back in the late 80s and early 90s.

Roger Wright94 said:Alright, let's talk about how much of a mind game this actually is.
Bottas joined Mercedes back in 2017 and had a decent enough season. He snagged some podiums and wins—more than enough to keep things interesting.
He rolled into 2018 with that same energy and plenty of hype, too. But then, thanks to a messy string of events, it all went south.
a) when you take a driver who’s actually capable of winning championships and turn him into someone just struggling to stay out of everyone else's way, that's a total mental mess
b) and if a driver just lets himself get played like that? Well, in my opinion, he’s got zero backbone—just a guy with no character at all.

Or maybe he's just playing the long game—knowing the team will make up for 2018 down the road.

And based on what we've seen, that could happen as early as 2019.

See, it’s not even in Mercedes' best interest to have the exact same guy winning every single time. Just look at Rosberg. It was Hamilton twice, then Rosberg once. Then the cycle repeats: Hamilton twice, then... Bottas.

See? Even the math checks out.

Honestly, brainwashing should be the thing with the massive price tag—not anal. Brainwashing absolutely trashes your mental health, whereas anal? Zero negative consequences—actually, there are benefits. It’s loaded with nerve endings and, basically, feels great if the guy knows what he's doing. The only issue with anal is those weird social norms where people call you a fairy. With brainwashing, though, there's zero upside. Aside from the fact that nobody's gonna label you a queer. So if someone's really worried about labels, they should just suck up the brainwashing.

Forget it—don't even bother replying... 🙂

So, who’s actually got the "healthiest" turning moment this season? — Honestly, just asking. 🙂

Look, Rudonj, quit messing with the President.

Richard Ross11 said:All based on proven scientific methods... 🙂

Right. It’s called observation.

Anyway, I was the only one calling out the fact that Ferrari was struggling—while the rest of the whole world was drowning in red and already celebrating both titles. Those arrogant types were just praying for a Leclerc title and a total humiliation for Vettel.

Everyone—literally everyone besides me—was convinced Ferrari had actually made progress.

And now these same "geniuses" are coming for me because I don't use their precious "proven scientific methods."

Clearly, those scientific methods of yours are pretty useless if they managed to mislead the whole world.

The whole world. Except for me. Since I don't even bother using them.

Raymond Anderson4 said:Something weird is going down—maybe they didn't have enough time to figure out what was wrong with the engine during testing, so they were just babying it during the race.

Yeah, "something weird" is definitely happening.

How am I the only one who noticed this!?

And I called it two weeks ago. While you guys were all busy obsessing over a dominant Ferrari and this grand championship showdown between Leclerc and Vettel.

I'm the only one pointing out Ferrari's massive car issues.

Because unlike you lot, I don't just stare at lap times—I watch how the car actually handles the track, listen to how the engine sounds, and read the body language of the drivers and the key team people.
Melbourne Grand Prix - March 17, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Mercedes-Benz is playing with their food at this point because they have such a massive lead.

Just look at how much cushion Bottas had—he spent the whole race cruising, then somehow pulled an extra 7 tenths out of thin air at the end. Actually, it wasn't thin air; it was just tapping into that insane reserve they're sitting on.

So yeah, even with a 7-tenth buffer, Mercedes-Benz is still absolutely demolishing everyone else.

Nothing can touch them—not even Saint Ferdinand sixty-first.

Just let him cling to his little bit of hope for another 20 hours or so

After that—he’s stuck facing 8 months of pure silver misery anyway

Man, Gajsić—why are you acting surprised now?

I told you this ages ago.

You just had to actually believe me.

ruggedhawk20 said:No way. Ferrari's car is a total mess right now.

Mercedes is gonna sweep every season—the first team to even challenge them will be Alfa Romeo. That's the reality. Maybe, just maybe, Alfa grabs a couple wins, but otherwise, it's all Mercedes.

Sebastian Vettel actually had a pretty decent 2018—considering everything went sideways against him.
