First off, let me say I’m really liking Windows 7 so far. It’s been great....
Now for the questions. Since I haven't installed any specific codecs or dedicated movie players yet, I'm wondering if I actually need them for Windows 7? The picture quality isn't quite where I want it to be—specifically when watching DVD rips. Currently, I'm just using BS Player to run my movies. Are there certain codecs compatible with Windows 7 x64? Which ones should I get if they are necessary, and what's your top recommendation for a media player?
Thanks in advance.
Just download and install VLC Media Player. It comes bundled with all the codecs you'll actually need.
Everything's fine, except for the fact that this garbage site Imgur takes an entire period of a hockey game just to load a single image. 😁
As for our friend ico1... You really managed to screw up the simplest installation imaginable. Next—next—you uncheck the box on the ASK toolbar and it still won't work. 🙏Shame on you:

Take a quick look at who actually posts sensible stuff here, then shoot them a PM. Most people will help you out. If you act like this, the mods will just come down on you... Just edit your previous post and wait.

Well, just give him a hug then... Once you two make up, go ahead and fire up Google, then come back to the forum and actually read this:
After that, check this out:
Once you've finished reading everything, head back to the Windows 7 thread and politely beg the mods for forgiveness since you're clearly still a kid. Otherwise, stay off the forum entirely. Is that clear enough for you?
Lucko, seriously, you’ve started acting just like S.T.A.R.S. Vista is easily the biggest failure in the history of computing, and even the folks at Microsoft have basically admitted it at this point. There is simply no comparison between Vista and either XP or Windows 7.
There is already a dedicated thread regarding Windows 7, so you might want to go over those posts instead..... If you spent just a moment actually browsing the forum, you would see a few topics right above yours:
I've been looking at the screenshot, and honestly, I don't see any blurring at all. So, you're telling me you didn't indulge in a few extra drinks every now and then?
hasn't made up his mind, probably because he can't read or write 😁 it's written as I'll put.... damn you guys, "I'll put," "you know," whatever... if you claim to have a decent grasp of American English and grammar, then actually use it...... just another member from the "I want internet right now" generation
