Basically, I still have that prescription from my OB-GYN for birth control pills (Cileste). I was taking them for a while, but I haven't touched them for about two months now. So, here's the thing: I just realized that during the only three days this summer when I’ll actually have some alone time with my partner, I’m supposed to be on my period. That’s happening in about 15 days—right in the middle of my cycle. Can I start taking the pills now? I really want to push my period back, even just a little, to get that effect from the medication... What do you all think? I know playing around with hormones isn't exactly something you should... mess with, but these three days of privacy and solitude are everything to me this summer, so...
Look, 😁Andrew Anderson6😛 is right. You won't achieve that effect; you'll likely just end up completely throwing your hormones out of balance. And if you're looking to be intimate, you're going to be intimate whether you have your period or not.

Honestly, I don't see how they can even sell drugs that aren't approved here in the States. It’s a total rip-off, no matter how you look at it. Plus, gynecologists hand these out like candy; none of them will actually prescribe Diane on a standard prescription.
I honestly have no idea; that is just what the woman at the pharmacy told me. I was completely stunned, so I just turned around and walked away.🤣

Hey Ali, I just popped into the Walgreens right next door to the old warehouse. Picked them up without even ordering ahead, but man, they aren't cheap. $147😲I almost passed out when that guy told me the number. Seriously, though—the packaging is only good for three uses.
I used to drink Diane for years, and those things were pricey. Even back then, paying about $7 for Yasmin felt like a splurge (now it's closer to $8), and now I’m looking at a dose every three months. $147 I’m a disaster. It feels like I only ever work for pharma or related industries—think stuff like beer, face creams, probiotics, contact lens solutions, you name it.
So, who hasn't started asking about this thing yet? I'm waiting to hear some actual commentary.
😲 If you order from that pharmacy over in Manhattan, it comes out to about $117 for a three-cycle supply. And for just one—$63 🙄 . Regardless, I decided to go with Logest 😁 .

It was $15 a few years back, but it should be somewhere around $50...
Both pills and menstrual cramps tend to be less painful when using them.😉
On another note, I have a question for the group. Is anyone here taking Yaz? I just got back from my gynecologist, and after dealing with all sorts of side effects from Triquilar, Trinovum, and Yasmin, we decided to try either Yaz or Logest. If those don't work out, we'll consider taking a longer break.
Since I experienced incredibly painful periods while on Yasmin, and Yaz is quite similar, Dr. Harris mentioned there’s a chance those symptoms could return. However, he still recommends Yaz over Logest. I understand how both brands function, but I would really appreciate hearing about someone else's actual experience with Yaz.
Also, how does one go about ordering it at a pharmacy in downtown Chicago?🙂
Anyway, I've been staying home most of the last two days, so it has some room to breathe... I can feel it healing; it itches constantly, but it should be fine soon 👍
At home, I either pull my pants up higher or just switch to shorts. However, since I spend most of my time outdoors lately, that’s becoming a bit harder to manage. 🙂
At Zillow, they suggested I always keep the area covered with film whenever I'm sleeping or if my clothes touch the tattoo during those first ten days. Otherwise, my jeans just soak up all the ointment immediately, leaving everything bone dry. 😁
I have a question as well 🙂 My tattoo is done, and tomorrow marks the end of the ten-day period I was supposed to spend moisturizing and caring for it. I spent quite a bit of time outdoors and used protective film, so I feel like it hasn't finished peeling entirely. When I run my finger over it, some spots still feel slightly swollen, almost as if the wound hasn't fully closed up yet.
So, should I continue applying ointment for a little longer (using the film or going without?) or should I just leave it alone starting tomorrow? 🤔
slybadger22 said:Hey guys, I need some advice... I totally blanked on taking my pill yesterday and just realized it now while grabbing today's dose... I still have 5 pills left from the pack... what should I do about this one "extra" pill?
It's Logest. I don't have the instructions because I tossed the box.
For the final week, the instructions say you can stop taking them and start the next pack seven days later.
Don't throw away those leftovers; you might always need them. 😉
Christian Smith6 said:Hey there! So, here’s the deal—I’m trying to shift my cycle around a bit. Basically, by month eight, I want to move everything up by about a week. Right now, I’m supposed to start on a Thursday. Since I can adjust things by two days at a time—like, starting on a Tuesday instead, which pushes that whole month to a Sunday, and just keeping that rhythm going until it lands where I want it—I was wondering if that works... or would it be better if I just shifted it one day at a time?
It’s better to just combine two packs.
Thomas Roberts9 said:You could certainly take a week-long break like you normally would, or you could just jump straight into the next pack. This idea of "continuing without a break" is really just about maintaining protection, since you aren't actually protected anymore once you miss a pill. Personally, I might suggest taking that seven-day break and then using some extra protection during the next month, because I've heard that skipping the break can sometimes lead to a much heavier and more painful period next time, though I suppose everyone reacts differently. It might be best to touch base with your gynecologist to be safe.😕
Mine has always been normal. A and I always combine two packs every summer.🤷
You can't just recommend pills to her; what worked for you doesn't guarantee it will work for someone else. In my case, Yasmin left me with a mess that took me months to fix... 🙂
Ah, so you mean like cramps, I see. 🙂 I’d rather not start sprinting for the gin every time I feel a little discomfort, even if it's just from walking. 🙂
Jeffrey Walker3 said:It’s scary when a clot forms right there... if that thing travels to your brain, heart, or lungs, you're in big trouble. Honestly, it can be dangerous anywhere since it blocks the vessels, but those three are definitely the worst-case scenarios!
🤔 How can I tell if a clot is actually what's causing the pain? What does that kind of pain feel like?
I am just looking into this so I don't end up 😁
On another note, I feel like I've gained weight from taking Trinovum, much like I did with Triquilar. It looks like I will have to switch birth control pills again. 🙄
It doesn't really matter though. On my cycle, one month it’s completely normal, and the next month it’s barely there at all; it isn't nearly as heavy as you described. 😁 My gynecologist told me there's no reason to worry because it isn't actually a period, but rather bleeding caused by the pill, so it can fluctuate from time to time. 🙂
There really isn't any need for translation... That’s actually one thing I loved about my time in Switzerland—even though you hear German everywhere you turn, foreign films still keep their original titles. 👍
I have no idea what kind of magic is in this formula, but it absolutely works. It really does. I am no longer some high-strung monster snapping at anyone who breathes the wrong way. 👋 I highly recommend it.
