The only decent, moral call NASCAR could make here would be to disqualify Verstappen and slap Mercedes-Benz with a $10,000 fine. If anything else happens... I'll be genuinely shocked...

It seems like Red Bull loves building up stars, keeping them for a couple of seasons, and then hitting the reset button. I have a feeling Max Verstappen might be facing a similar fate...

Didn't he swear he was done with the American F1 scene for good to focus on other projects? 🤣

The objectivity from those English commentators today was... well, let's just say it was "on another level."

that's what you call top-tier driving from Verstappen...

...

Have you ever actually driven a car at 137 miles/h?

You clearly don't know what the word "refugee" even means, so maybe stop using it...

These drivers are still some of the best in the world...

Barely scraped through the group stage 😂
... Honestly, they would have cruised through even if it was just one giant pool where only the top two advanced🤣

If memory serves, you only really showed some life at the very end 😁...

Congrats to the UFC, and to everyone else who took part in the tournament. Talk about a comeback, stormybadger8... going from barely scraping through the group stage to taking the whole thing.

Next year, I’m hoping for some slight rule tweaks and a bit more of a challenge in the competition.

Race footage right here. If anyone actually cares to watch the practice sessions or qualifying, they're all uploaded on the same channel. 🙂

thanks 🙂

Solid race, definitely worth watching...

Anyone happen to have a link to a replay somewhere?

Guys, seriously, just give me the matchups for Abu Dhabi already 😁

I’ll be sure to bug you again a day early with a message, reminding you to either send over your forecast or finally respond to your opponent.

coastaldrifter6 said:Whatever—I feel like we already know who the finalists are...

Based on the rules, Rossi submitted his offer too late, and the Knights Templar Order sent over the exact same bid as stormybadger8.

Following that logic, the finalists are
coastaldrifter6 and stormybadger8...

As for third place, it’ll be Knights Templar Order against Rossi...

brighthound8 said:Wait a second, why'd you reject mine? I'm filing an APPEAL!!!!!

brighthound8 Asks:
We’re talking about a twenty-minute gap here... seriously...

Remind me where exactly you replied to his offer...

Just as I feared... all the predictions were spot on, but not everyone hit the deadline.

From the duel between

swifttiger75 wins out against swifttiger75 because they actually submitted their prediction on time.

From the duel between

coastaldrifter6 vs brighthound8 goes to coastaldrifter6 since they managed to get their answer in before the clock ran out.

Here are our semifinal matchups

stormybadger8 said:So, Rosi and I aren't playing this round, right?
And we don't really need to send anything...🤔

Both you and Rosi are off the hook for this cycle

just chill out😉

Come on people, let’s get those pairings sorted like brighthound8 so nicely pointed out... so far, only swifttiger75 and coastaldrifter6 have actually done their part of the job

stormybadger8 said:There isn't even a Marussie left, and honestly, no sign of a Caterham either....
Where does that leave us now?

I just hope they didn't blow their entire budget trying to snag Alonso only to go bankrupt immediately after😬

Nah, I wouldn't bet on that... we'll likely see a massive comeback next year with Alonso leading the charge😁

swifttiger75 said:I actually kind of enjoy that vibe... there's an energy in his posts that just jumps out at you. 🙏
And don't even get me started on the fonts! 🤣

It’s nice to see someone around here with that much enthusiasm 🙏, but using size 36 font... 🤣🤣

man, seriously, dial back the font size 😁 you don't need to kill us all with the wall of text 😁

Jason Campbell70 said:Yeah, marriage-of-convenience deals aren't really a thing in modern F1 anymore.

Lewis Hamilton needs a top-tier seat, while McLaren is missing both a driver who can deliver and the heavy-hitting sponsors...
All the ingredients are sitting right there on the table.

It’s hard for McLaren to find something they don't already lack. They're missing a solid driver lineup. As for the money, those sponsors will show up with the Japanese partners regardless of whether Lewis Hamilton signs or not.
