But honestly, guys, there's a certain thrill in being in a powerhouse group, whether you actually win or not...

(And by the way, until recently, we were sitting near the bottom of the pack based on tiebreakers. Now look at us! 🙏 🙏)

Plus, we only have four winners in our group right now, so there's still plenty of room for things to shake up...

The favorites seem to be pulling away in every other group, but Group C is just... stuck. No one is making any real moves to separate themselves from the pack yet.😁

Overall rankings

Looking at how darkmarlin16 and akoja stack up... since darkmarlin16 actually pulled off a win, he sits higher on the leaderboard

As for shadowhawk24 and William Bennett53... I don't really have a set tiebreaker here. If my eyes didn't deceive me, everything looks identical, except shadowhawk24 managed to snag that victory a bit earlier

Sorry for the delay on this. My internet was acting up and wouldn't let me upload the photos...

This group... they're a dangerous bunch... 😁
I'm sitting right there in the driver's seat for that single extra point... as if it even matters...

quietridge62 said:If the forum wasn't such a total mess, maybe I'd actually stand a chance at moving on... 😢

They’re still playing around in the group stage... even Jelenic, who's sitting there with absolutely zero points, can somehow still move on to the next round... ridiculous...

For me, Williams has always been the biggest headache... I'll pick them for my lineup and they can't even scrape into Q3, then the second I leave them out, they go out and absolutely crush it... 😁

Hey everyone, just giving you a heads-up that I won't be able to handle the results or run the tournament this Saturday.

If Fortin, Dorian, or maybe someone else could step in and take over those duties for a bit, I’d really appreciate it...

One more thing, there’s a 90% chance I won't be near my computer this weekend, which means I probably won't be watching F1 at all. I’m heading to some seminar on Friday, so I’ll need a volunteer to handle the 2014 tournament results over the weekend. Otherwise... you'll just have to wait until Monday night.

I'll confirm everything later this week.

stormybadger8 said:Well, you could also argue that the winner should be whoever had the forecast with more secondary points... though obviously, if those are tied, you just look at the next tiebreaker, and so on...

To me, that sounds like the simplest way to handle it without getting bogged down in unnecessary drama...
That whole idea about submitting forecasts months in advance and switching topics constantly just feels needlessly complicated...

I'm glad you all managed to reach a consensus on your own. Yeah, I was thinking along those same lines, and as far as I'm concerned, we can just write that into the official rulebook...

jadeseal7 said:As far as I can tell, they handed out a 5 or 10-second penalty, though I might have missed them serving it... probably just too tired to notice.

that penalty was served

MAMBA, regarding those issues in your group

look, it isn't really an issue right now since only the top two advance... but if things stay this messy through the end of the group stage, they'll have to figure it out. They'll probably rely on early forecasts, total wins, second-place finishes, or something similar to how they handle tiebreakers in NASCAR... or they'll just find some other compromise somewhere else...

Post-Malaysia fallout

Group standings summary

The table will be up tonight. It should’ve been posted yesterday, but the site was acting up so badly I decided to hold off... just in case I missed anyone somewhere else.
