We know the rest; it wasn't even that long ago.🙂
Besides, Ferrari dominated for years, so now it's their turn to sit back for at least a decade. If someone else is going to take the crown from them, I'd much rather it be Williams Racing or McLaren.🙂

He had that same engineer over at McLaren too, so what exactly did they manage to build with him?
Brian Campbell36 said:Is it actually realistic to expect Alonso to stand on the podium in Singapore, or are we all just indulging in the collective wishful thinking of Ferrari fans?
If they run with those overly hard tire compounds again, I fear everything will just fall apart for Alonso; at that point, his only hope might be seeing a McLaren or a Red Bull "crash into a wall." 🙂

If it does rain, expect plenty of SC periods and everyone whining about how they can't see anything through the spray and the floodlights.🙂
btw... where's the DRS zone even going to be? (not like it actually matters on this track anyway)

so here's what Martin Whitmarsh had to say about it:
McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh: "That's The way to celebrate. Jenson Button drove a great race, he was calm, he was cool, he gave great information. It was one of those great wins in difficult conditions. It was a team decision for Lewis Hamilton to go on to inters - it was raining, his tyres were shot and there was rain on the radar. Half The Cars came in and did The same thing. Clearly with hindsight you'd make a different call, but he stayed calm, picked up another couple of places and important points. "He's a guy who wants to win and as his reaction shows, he's dealt with the situation so well."
and hey, he basically said exactly what you were thinking
it's just total confirmation of what you already figured out yourself, really
he isn't even talking the way he used to anymore, it's weird
edit: found Hem'sstatement

stormybadger8 said:Out of all the heavy hitters on the grid, Fernando Alonso definitely had the worst race😳
I’m being dead serious here, because from where I’m sitting, Ferrari was miles ahead in these conditions, and honestly, Felipe Massa looked like he was handling it way better.
Then you've got the fact that Alonso just completely botched a bunch of stuff, plus the pit crew absolutely screwed him over with the tire situation—unless he just totally lost his head there himself🤷—so yeah, I guess the result isn't total garbage, but man, he could have done so much better.
Alex Fowler5 said:It took me a second to actually wrap my head around what you're even talking about here 🙂 Seriously, just go take a stroll through some of my other threads and you’ll quickly realize I’m definitely not that guy 🙂
Alex Fowler5 said:Look, when you're talking strictly about raw, physical driving talent, Lewis Hamilton is probably the absolute beast on the grid right now. But mentally? Man, he’s lightyears behind that guy driving the little street sweeper that clears the track after the race.
