Valtteri Bottas, Jules Bianchi, and Kevin Magnussen are all sitting on two points in the driver standings right now...

They’ll probably end up stripping Bianchi of those points because he didn't actually earn them through anything legit.

Honestly, he’s just as much to blame as Kamui Kobayashi was back in Australia.

Look, honestly, it’s not even an issue right now since only the top two spots are moving on anyway, but if things get messy toward the end of the group stage, we'll just sort it out using either the forecasts sent in early or by looking at total wins, second-place finishes, and all that—basically how they handle tiebreakers in Formula 1—or we'll just come up with some other middle-ground compromise.

It's really no big deal 🤷

And honestly, if I’m remembering correctly, they pulled that during the pit stop while they were swapping out the tires.

Because hey, under the current rules, that's totally allowed now.

Tyler Bennett5 said:Valtteri Bottas moved up 10 spots. Honestly, I think Felipe Massa should've just let him through so he could actually have a shot at passing Jenson Button.
Maybe he wouldn't have caught him, but at least they would've actually tried for a second, you know? Massa didn't even make a real attempt at threatening Button's position.
We didn't have Pat Symonds over in Malaysia, so maybe things would've been handled with a bit more tactical finesse if he were there. Since we're heading to Bahrain and Steve Smedley will be around, I bet the
drivers will probably coordinate their moves a little better.
Williams Racing is struggling with rear downforce, which is why they looked so sluggish in the wet during both qualifying sessions.
But hey, that lack of downforce gives them a decent edge on the straights. Based on what I could see regarding fuel consumption, they were among the most efficient ones out there.
All in all, I’m feeling pretty good about these first two races. Sure, they might have snagged a couple more points, but when you look at how much
progress they've made compared to last season, it actually makes watching these races a lot more tolerable.

There’s no rain expected in Bahrain, so that'll be the first time we see dry qualifying, and both Williams drivers really need to break into the top 10 there. If they do, they could easily fight for a podium spot, or maybe even grab one.

Having two of them finishing in the top 6 during the race doesn't seem that crazy to me.😳

"I had some damage after that, so we lost some downforce because the tyre damaged the floor."

That’s an actual argument right there. That’s what I was looking for. 👍

Not just some mindless rambling or trolling for the sake of it. 👍

So, you're actually gonna ask me to cough up some hard evidence that there was damage on the car? Seriously? Like I’m just sitting here holding onto some secret folder of telemetry data or something. You really think I've got photographic proof tucked away in my back pocket just waiting for someone to demand it? Please. I'm making a call here based on what I saw and how the thing was moving, not because I'm trying to play detective for the FIA or whatever. It was obvious, plain as day, and if you need a high-res macro shot of a carbon fiber splinter to believe me, then you're probably looking at the wrong guy.

So, wait, let me get this straight—are we seriously supposed to believe it only got trashed while he was tucked right behind someone else? Like, that’s just wild. Honestly, it sounds a bit convenient if you ask me.

brightwolf48 said:So you’re telling me a car repair that takes three minutes at the start of a qualifying stint is somehow the exact same deal during the actual race? Honestly, man, you really made a fool of yourself with this one—and I’m telling you this because, look, I can troll way better than you can, even if you are technically "above" the usual crowd on some of these lower-tier forums...

I actually typed this out before the blue flag popped up, but hey, whatever, consider this my yellow card...

It all comes down to how fast and synchronized the pit crew is, obviously.

What exactly was ripped up on Rlikönenov’s car?? 🍿

brightwolf48 said:Look, Mr. Spiderhole Genius, just because you're flying solo without any cars breathing down your neck doesn't mean overtaking is actually easy... I mean, what about Alonso and Petrov? Does that ring a bell or what?

Honestly, it feels like you're just pivoting the topic again just to make yourself look ridiculous.

Comparing Caterham to Renault 🙏

brightwolf48 said:Look, what exactly was he supposed to do to snag one single damn point? Ram in on the cars ahead of him and redline the engine until it blows up or runs out of gas? Give me a break and grow up already. You’re sitting here obsessing over Alonso just like those idiots who claim Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest free-kick specialist ever when the guy only scores if the ball somehow bounces off a defender and goes in...

He needed to overtake the obviously slower cars, plain and simple. That’s what you do. And it was pretty obvious he had the pace to make it happen.

You haven't offered a single actual argument, whereas I actually have.
Sepang Grand Prix - March 30, 2014 in Formula 1 ·
brightwolf48 said:Look, I’m risking my reputation here just to call you out, but honestly, everyone on this godforsaken forum—except maybe you, since you're clearly too naive for your own good, even if you are kind-hearted—knows that if we're talking about someone actually capable of overtaking drivers, and I don't just mean crawling past slowpokes or playing bumper cars, then it's Kimi, period. It doesn't matter if he looks bored or like he couldn't care less most of the time. Just think for a second before you type next time; your total post count on this site isn't exactly going to land you a job at Google.☕

So, you get hit with an argument that absolutely shuts you down, and instead of just swallowing your pride and admitting you were wrong, you try to wiggle out of it with some mindless rambling and pivoting the conversation toward how many posts someone has made. Typical.

Jason Campbell70 I can't even begin to describe how much this whole situation is just... well, it's a mess, honestly. Like, you look at what's happening and you just have to laugh because it’s so absurdly predictable, isn't it? It's like watching a slow-motion train wreck where everyone involved is convinced they're actually driving a high-end Tesla instead of a beat-up old Ford that's about to lose a wheel on the I-95. You see these people making these massive, sweeping claims, acting like they've cracked some secret code to the universe, when in reality, they're just spinning their wheels in a muddy driveway in suburban Ohio. And don't even get me started on the sheer audacity of it all—the way they just pivot from one ridiculous argument to the next without blinking an eye, totally oblivious to how transparent they're being. It’s exhausting, really, trying to follow the logic when there isn't any to follow, but hey, that's just life in the fast lane, I guess.
The maestro managed to qualify on the second row despite his car being absolutely trashed—I mean, we're talking way more serious damage than what we saw before, but he still pulled it off. ☕

You’re just wasting your breath, buddy.

brightwolf48 said:Alright, come on then, enlighten us—assuming you actually have access to Ferkan’s telemetry and can tell us exactly how trashed Kimijev’s suspension was after that first-lap pit stop, and then, if you're feeling particularly generous, run the math on all those parameters against the total mileage that engine is expected to clock this season.

I can't believe I'm even looking at this link right now, but here we go, because apparently, we all need another reason to obsess over every single tiny detail regarding the team's direction. It’s just one of those things where you sit there, staring at the screen, wondering if anyone actually realizes how much weight these small updates carry in the grand scheme of the season. Honestly, it feels like we're constantly chasing these micro-trends, spinning our wheels while everyone else seems to be miles ahead, but hey, that's just how it goes in this sport, right? You spend hours dissecting a single update only to realize it might change absolutely nothing about the actual pace on track, yet we keep doing it anyway because what else is there to do? It's a cycle, really—just a massive, exhausting loop of hype and reality that leaves you feeling slightly more cynical than you were ten minutes ago. But sure, let's dive into the madness together, because clearly, none of us have anything better to do with our lives.

Honestly, the eras when he and Fernand were running things felt almost identical, especially back before he finally teamed up with the legend that is Ericsson.

Is there any chance the suspension got trashed specifically while he was tailing him and Grosjean? Honestly, who knows... I haven't a clue.

Roger Wright94 said:So, what you're trying to tell me is that you're 100% convinced his total lack of skill is the only reason this happened?
Give me a break, seriously.

It’s definitely not the *only* thing, but yeah, it’s a huge part of it.
Sepang Grand Prix - March 30, 2014 in Formula 1 ·
Roger Wright94 said:Honestly, all this constant bashing of Kimi is just completely baseless and, frankly, a total joke.
Look, I’m telling you right now, he isn't even remotely responsible for those technical glitches with the car in either of these two races. It's honestly ridiculous how people are pointing fingers, but it's just not him. And let's be real, this whole mess isn't going to drag on forever, no matter how much everyone wants to obsess over it.
They’re gonna figure it out, I’m telling you, I'm dead certain about this. Once they deal with the Magnussen situation today and wrap their heads around those technical hiccups from last time, they’ll realize that this kind of chaos is just part of the job description when you're actually out there racing. There’s absolutely no reason to get all demoralized over it, and honestly, nobody's even going to be bummed because it's just how the game is played.

I mean, seriously? He was stuck trailing behind Ericsson for what felt like an absolute eternity.

Way too much time on my hands.

Hey, Ericsson, rookieja over at Caterham.

wanderingbison9 said:Of course that duo B&N is still butchering Kvyat's name, probably because they’ve convinced themselves it sounds like Wyatt or some other nonsense—honestly, they must have some weird internal logic going on to be that consistently wrong.😂 Even those guys over at Oracle aren't all that much better (though they're getting close), because let’s be real, we aren't even talking about Kvyat here—it's clearly KvJAt... which is incredibly easy to fact-check if you actually bother to look : I’ve been thinking about Daniil Kvyat lately—honestly, just sitting here chewing on how much of a wild ride his career has been. It's one of those things where you look back and realize just how chaotic the whole scene was. You have this guy who comes in with all this raw energy, and then you see him navigating the madness of the grid, dealing with different teams, different pressures... it’s a lot. I mean, if you really dig into it, the way he handled himself at places like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during those intense sessions? Man, that takes a specific kind of mental toughness that most people just don't get. And let's be real, when you talk about the legends, you can't help but compare everyone to the absolute titans of the sport. It’s like comparing a solid starter to the Best NFL player ever; the gap is just massive, and you feel it every time they step onto the field—or in this case, the track. But even with that context, Kvyat had this vibe, this grit, that made him impossible to ignore. He wasn't just some placeholder; he was a character in a high-stakes drama. I was actually reading some stuff earlier—shoutout to neonfox65 for bringing up similar points in a thread once—about how certain drivers just seem to fit a certain era better than others. It’s funny because you look at the roster, you see names like Vettel or Massa, and you realize how much the landscape shifts. One minute you're part of the elite circle, and the next, everything changes. It's a brutal business, totally unapologetic about it. Anyway, I'm probably rambling now, but I just think we don't give enough credit to the sheer chaos of being a pro driver in that era. It wasn't just about driving fast; it was about surviving the politics, the technical shifts, and the constant comparison to the greats. It's a heavy lift, and honestly, most guys would have folded under half the pressure Kvyat faced. Just my two cents, though. Take it or leave it. I mean, seriously, who’s actually going to bother doing all that heavy lifting for such tiny change? Like, come on. Just look at how much time and effort it took for Ros Braun to finally turn into Bron. It didn't happen overnight, folks.☕

Idiots. Honestly, what else is there even to say?

Kvyat. Honestly, they probably ought to learn how to read Cyrillic too, given they’re clearly from that era. I bet you anything they’re spelling him Kvyat anyway. 🤦

Man, I literally just sat my ass down and fired up the stream specifically to catch this race on our local broadcast. 🍿
