Something's not right with my brother in Health ·
Hold on a second... if he’s 24 and you’re pushing thirty, that means you’re basically 3 or 4 years older than him.
So when he was just 12, you were already 15 or 16... those aren't exactly "kid years" for playing around...
Maybe go see a therapist yourself... I really don't like the tone you're taking here.

Especially this part, which I can't stand:

Drew Green68, I’m not sure if I followed you, but we are never going to be together, period. It’s just not something I want. I love him like a brother, and that's where it ends. If I were actually "afraid of myself" or dealing with some repressed feelings, I’d probably be acting differently in this conversation now that we've both stopped holding back. To be honest, he isn't even that repulsive to me as a man, but this way of living just isn't for me. I'm not desperate enough to dive into something like that, and neither is he.

Sorry, but this doesn't exactly scream "sisterly love" to me.

Betty Rivera14 said:Come on, find a little time and take a look. Here? I think you missed the rest of your thought there. You just dropped an "i" and nothing else. What are we even talking about? Give me something to work with here. Here. .

I honestly think that friend of yours is just draining you.

Is there anyone even remotely sane in that family? Because if things are actually as bad as you’re making them out to be, she needs professional help, like, yesterday.

I'll check it out.
Angela Kelly has absolutely nobody. No brothers, no sisters... no mom, no dad. She isn't even on speaking terms with any of her relatives. Just totally alone.
Maybe she’d go back home if she actually wanted to, but she lives way too far from where she grew up. Plus, she went through some seriously heavy trauma during the war. It's a lot to carry.
It’s just a dog. That's it. Nothing else.
Got my appointment with the psychiatrist lined up for next week. But honestly? She already told me she isn’t going to touch on my "vibes" or whatever. Apparently, if I bring that up, she’ll just write me off as crazy. Great. Just great.
I'm just sitting here hoping my psychiatrist actually has enough sense to grasp what's really going on.

if she’s actually sick.

Angela Kelly, have you even looked at my threads where people mention you?

Betty Rivera14... I haven't checked the threads...
Honestly, I think her issue is that she acts like the entire world revolves around her. She’s desperate for attention but just doesn't have the tools to get it...
If she didn't have this one "fixed idea," I'd probably just think she was lonely... but seriously, I have no clue what's going on with her lately.
I'm way too busy with my own life, but even when I spend a few hours a week with her, she just wears me out by repeating the exact same stories over and over. She's even started calling me at work just to tell me what her "big idea of the day" is.
Something's up... anyone else? in Health ·
I grabbed coffee with her earlier. She seems alright—not complaining too much today—but she won't shut up about how she "feels" something bad is coming, like we're all headed straight for World War III.

She keeps talking about these "forces" telling her what to do, which honestly sounds so convincing I almost started believing her myself.

Her doctor referred her to a psychiatrist and put her on some meds, which she’s been taking for two days now.

I just can't walk away from her right now. I've had my own dark times in the past, and she was there for me... even if it was a long time ago, I haven't forgotten that.

I just don't get it. How does someone go from being this modern, upbeat girl to this weird, doom-and-gloom person who sees nothing but darkness everywhere?

I keep suggesting she sign up for a class or find a hobby... maybe something like pottery or making clay art if she can't find anything else to learn.

I really think getting into something creative might help her finally unwind.

Chris Fox4 said:If she’s got schizophrenia—and let's face it, she does—then this stuff started playing out a long time ago. It’s just hitting the surface now. People like this need someone with actual backbone and authority to keep things steady, not some soft-headed psychiatrist who’s just going to numb her out with pills or talk down to her like she’s five years old. Angela Kelly, listen to me... don't cave. Don't validate her delusions just to keep the peace. You have to be blunt and tell her she's sick.

The issue is she's becoming incredibly clingy with me, and honestly, I've got way too much on my plate to be her full-time caretaker.

And yeah... those conversations. I've tried telling her she's imagining things and needs to fight through it, but she just snaps. She gets so aggressive that neither I nor the doctors can even get through to her.
I even tried suggesting she see a specialist, someone who might actually understand the "forces" she thinks are controlling her.
I'm just praying she finally gets some therapy that actually works.

I have this one friend who means the world to me.
She’s 38, but lately, her behavior has been... off. Really off.
She’ll call me late at night and just drone on for hours about how people are out to get her, or how someone "targeted" her, or some other nonsense about what happened to her today.
This stuff started about ten months ago, but now it’s getting more intense and aggressive. She’s actually started writing letters to the White House and thinks she’s personally responsible for every single issue involving the FBI or local police.
She’s obsessed with proving she’s the victim of some massive conspiracy, and she gets incredibly hostile when she talks about it.
The thing is, she has nobody else. No siblings, no cousins, no parents.
She is completely alone in this world.

Up until last year, she was totally fine—cheerful, easygoing, zero drama. Then everything changed. She quit her job, put on over 100 pounds, and honestly, I suspect there might be a thyroid issue involved, but every single day she calls me with some new ailment she's "invented" based on some story she’s spun.

She doesn't do anything productive anymore; she just spins webs. Her brain is constantly racing—she could probably write detective novels if she actually focused on something real.
She can't function without some kind of crisis.

Whatever. These nightly vent sessions mean everything to her, even if she doesn't realize she's just spiraling through bad days. A person can't just flip their entire life around overnight.

Every once in a while, she seems like herself again. She wants to go out, meet people, grab a drink. I really want to help her, and I’d love to take her out for a coffee, but I’m honestly a little scared. I'm worried she'll snap or make some huge scene in public.

I’m actually thinking about reaching out to her doctor. I truly believe whatever she’s going through isn't being properly managed.

I know we live in the States, where the healthcare and social safety nets work differently than elsewhere, and where the government usually won't step in unless someone proactively reaches out and asks for help.

Please, if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears.
All or nothing? in Economy ·
Honestly, seeing that thread locked over just a couple of bucks... it really pissed me off. I wanted to start a whole new discussion about it.

There are so many people just sitting on their hands, daydreaming about some massive windfall falling out of the sky. They’re waiting for some long-lost wealthy aunt to leave them a fortune or for a lucky Powerball ticket to change their lives.
And then, once they have that imaginary pile of cash, they'll finally launch their "dream business."

If you actually ask them why they aren't starting something right now, they'll just snap back at you, "Well, where would I be if my old man had enough money to fund the business I have in mind?"

I have to admit, that answer drives me crazy.

My take? I think you achieve the most when you actually start from nothing—when you're working with those last two cents in your pocket.

Look at the restaurant industry: I don't believe a restaurant owner can truly succeed if they haven't spent time as a waiter or a line cook. You have to grind it out for someone else first, pick up the experience, and slowly build up enough of your own cash to open your own place.

Or how can someone expect to run a construction firm if they’ve never actually picked up a hammer themselves?

To me, the ability to analyze a situation and figure things out on the fly is way more important than whatever initial capital you might have.
Persistence is everything here too... as is the ability to learn from your own screw-ups.
I've watched people build empires out of thin air. Sure, they failed miserably at first. They lost huge amounts of money. But they clawed their way back because they were damn stubborn.

So, what do you guys think about all this?
Benjamin Ramos95 said:Besides, if people were actually struggling, they wouldn't be out there driving nothing but Mercedes and BMWs. So yeah, any talk about a crisis is just total nonsense.👎

Look, you don't judge someone's actual net worth by what kind of car they're driving. You look at their real assets—real estate, stocks, whatever they actually own.
Anyone can lease a Mercedes on credit. Half of society is basically drowning in debt, loans, and credit card balances... it doesn't mean they're rich.
Once upon a time... in Lonely Hearts ·
I was just sitting here thinking about this line from *Arabian Nights*:

"When the ear falls in love before the eye, it can lead to madness."

So, I’m throwing this out there—has it ever happened to you? Have you ever fallen for someone before even laying eyes on them, just because of something you heard about them?
The Struggle is Real in Lonely Hearts ·
You’ve gotta figure out how deep this goes—is this just some passing phase or the real deal?

If it’s the real thing, then go for it. Honestly, anything can be fixed if you put in the work.

I know the feeling, by the way. Not really in the mood to dwell on it anymore though. 😁

Just letting you know, I definitely got into a scrap with my own emotions once upon a time.

For years, it was a constant battle—me against the entire world. My own gut feelings versus all those rigid societal rules. Everyone else would say one thing, and I’d be over here wanting the exact opposite. But I made it through. Eventually, I found some direction. No more chaos. Heh.

So yeah, I'd call it case closed.
When she says... in Lonely Hearts ·
I'm curious to get your take on this one from Azrin:

"When she says NO, she actually means MAYBE. When she says MAYBE—well, then all bets are off. But when she says YES? I swear, I'm terrified."
Starting an LLC: Where to begin? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
I’ve been chewing on this idea about setting up an offshore company out in Puerto Rico or something similar...
Maintaining a setup like that is dirt cheap..
So my question is, how does that actually work with a local branch? Like, what kind of physical presence would a firm like that even need here in the States?

It’s the same story over in the States—that company charges $45.
Can a firm based out of America and the US actually operate here in the States?
Back, neck, and joint pain... help! in Health ·
The pain has gotten absolutely unbearable. It’s not just my neck anymore—now it feels like every single joint is acting up, just jumping from one spot to another. On top of that, there's this constant, dull ache I can't even put a finger on... it feels like my very bones are stinging. My shins, thighs, forearms, upper arms... everywhere. This is seriously driving me insane.
I haven't had a chance to see my doctor yet, and honestly, I probably won't be able to make an appointment all through next week.
It's constant. I can't tell if it's muscular or something else, but it feels like that weird sensation you get after a shot, where it feels like there's actual metal stuck inside your arm.
There's arthritis in my family, so I'm wondering... could this be the start of that for me?
And yeah, my knees are popping and cracking every time I bend them.
Is it possible this is being triggered by cigarettes? Because lately, I've been smoking way more than usual.
I've never been the type to take vitamins or minerals, but today I finally went to the drugstore and picked up some calcium, magnesium, and iron. I also grabbed some glucosamine sulfate since I heard that helps with joints.
I've also been feeling lightheaded at times, which is totally new for me. Maybe it's just too much coffee, too many cigarettes, and a generally crappy lifestyle.
But the pain hasn't let up for about seven days now. Has anyone else dealt with anything like this?
Back, neck, and joint pain... help! in Health ·
Thanks for the reply, Casey Palmer5. I’m not much of an athlete or anything, but I do love swimming.
Regarding the whole setup—desk, monitor, and all that—I actually have an occupational health specialist coming by tomorrow to check if my workstation is even remotely ergonomic.
This pain first cropped up a few years back after I had an epidural.
I managed to shake it off back then by hitting the pool regularly, but now? It feels like I probably need to supplement with minerals or something to boost my immune system or whatever helps the body stay resilient.
I forgot to mention that a doctor told me a few years ago that arthritis was starting to show up in my lower spine, though he brushed it off saying half the population deals with that exact same thing.
Back, neck, and joint pain... help! in Health ·
Lately, my neck has been killing me, and then at night, the pain starts spreading through my neck and back.
Then it hit my joints and muscles—my forearms, my shins, the whole works... plus these weird tingling sensations in my hands and feet.
My doctor basically told me it’s just from grinding away at my computer all day and said I need to take more breaks.
He didn't prescribe anything helpful besides some standard over-the-counter painkillers.
At work, they've tried swapping out different office chairs for me, but nothing makes a difference. It feels like I actually need some kind of specialized chair with serious lumbar and neck support.
I even tried using an ergonomic stool, but that just ended up causing knee pain... I even ended up with bruises.
I'm wondering if anyone else here deals with this crap? Are there any alternative methods or treatments that actually work for stuff like this?

Over here in the States, they put it like this:
"Candida: A frequent vaginal infection, particularly while pregnant."

Austin Chavez76 said:Thanks... for basically repeating what I already said. My doctor put me on an antibiotic for ten days, strictly because of the pregnancy. Besides that, you've got creams, there are vaginal suppositories, and now they even have those three-day pill courses, but you can only get them with a prescription.

alisa-bogme i ja isto..navisela se tamo u njegove stare kuci dok ju nije prodala..sve prvo se bas desilo😳 😉
And which ghetto was it? Like, which part of the city?

Look, Austin Chavez76, you're partially right. Nystatin is an antibiotic, but it's a polyene one.
Geonistin (those vaginal suppositories) is a solid choice because it hits both fungal and bacterial infections—you know, when it's a combined infection.
Oral pills are usually reserved for the really heavy-duty cases.
Definitely check this out:

Since I won't be able to get to my gynecologist for a few days, I'm looking for some first aid advice. Anyone have tips?
I've been scouring the internet for answers, and honestly, the symptoms I've been dealing with for the last couple of days match up perfectly with what I’m about to paste below. It's pretty overwhelming. Unfortunately, I can't get an appointment with my gynecologist right this second, so I'm kind of stuck. Please, if anyone has any advice on how to manage the discomfort or just get through these next few days until I can actually see a doctor, I'd really appreciate it.
Does anyone know of any over-the-counter stuff I can grab at a pharmacy? Like a rinse or a topical cream, maybe even some tea? Just looking for something to take the edge off these symptoms.
Honestly, I’m terrified of just taking random stuff without seeing a gynecologist first. Can someone please recommend something mild? Just enough to help me get through the next few days. 🙂
[

I didn't mention this earlier, and maybe someone already hit me with an answer, but I’m not going to repeat myself just for the sake of it:
Candida is usually just hanging out in our bodies, but it goes absolutely haywire the second we...
Maybe we're just building weaker, more fragile immune systems. It could be the aftermath of heavy antibiotic use, or maybe it's all this junk we're wearing—synthetic, unnatural materials that just don't sit right with the body. I don't know. Just feels off.
I honestly think Geonistin would be the way to go here, but unfortunately, you can't just get it through a standard doctor's prescription. It's frustrating.
I went through this exact same thing a few years back. I was living in London at the time, and my doctor actually looked me straight in the face and told me I was wearing way too many pants. Her "medical advice"? She said I needed to start wearing skirts just to let things breathe. Yeah. That’s for real. That is exactly what she said.🙄 🙄 🙄
I was struggling so much until my mom finally tossed me that Geonistin. Ever since then? Never had another issue. Not even close.
My grandma used to always swear by rinsing with chamomile tea mixed with a little bit of baking soda. After that, she’d say applying some Canesten wouldn't hurt either—it might actually help calm down the irritation.

Joshua Barnes2 said:So, here I am, about a year or two later, back to being single again... and honestly, I feel pretty lost. I’ve got way too much damn free time on my hands. No one to think about, no one to dream about, nobody to just hold me when I'm feeling low and tell me things are gonna be okay and that they love me. There's no one to watch movies with or just walk through town holding onto. Everything I was used to is just... gone. My whole life has flipped upside down and I genuinely have no clue what to do now. Even though there are people interested in me, the thought of even trying anything with them doesn't cross my mind. I know deep down I haven't moved on from my ex yet, and trying to date would just be using them. God, I miss him—and not even just as a boyfriend, but as a friend. Someone I could talk to about absolutely anything. It sucks so bad that he never reaches out anymore, but I know if he did, he'd just end up leaving again, and he clearly doesn't want to do that. Besides, he's got a girlfriend now. He's only with her for her money, whereas he was with me because he actually cared, so it's probably easier for him if he never hears from me again. I just wonder how I'm supposed to navigate this new life. What am I supposed to do when the nostalgia hits and I just need someone by my side, but there's nobody there...
