I have a bit of an unusual question for you all. Is it theoretically possible to set up a single LLC that covers absolutely everything? I mean, could I just register for every possible business activity right from the start? I realize some industries naturally conflict with one another, so obviously, you can't register for *everything*, but is it feasible to list, say, 50 different business activities under one roof? Also, does the filing fee apply $50 per activity? I’ve heard whispers that adding each extra category comes with its own $50 charge. On another note, is it legally possible for a company to have zero official employees while still having, say, 50 volunteers on board? How would the IRS or standard accounting practices view that? Would I need to be signing specific contracts or waivers with them to stay compliant...
Specifically, I'm trying to estimate the monthly overhead for running an LLC where there is only one employee (who also serves as the CEO) earning minimum wage. Basically, I'd be paying roughly $600 in payroll taxes and healthcare contributions, plus my U.S. Chamber of Commerce dues, an accountant, bank fees, and various other miscellaneous costs. If the company isn't generating any revenue yet, what kind of total monthly burn rate am I looking at?

I could really use some advice here. I own a small business—it’s a sole proprietorship rather than an LLC—and since I’m planning to move out of the country permanently in the near future, I want to hand the reins over to my sister so she can keep the business running. Does anyone know what the standard procedure looks like for this? And more importantly, what kind of costs am I looking at?
This might sound like a bit of a silly question, but is there an option to essentially "gift" the business to her to facilitate the transfer? My goal is to completely walk away from the company once it's done.
Best,

The moderator must have been in an exceptionally good mood when they saw it.

Look, honestly, I could just go on a power trip, handing out bans like candy, tossing red cards around, and wiping everything clean whenever I felt like it—but that’s just not my style. I can't stand working like that. Just imagine how messy things would get if I actually did, and how many people would end up exactly like this. 😁
Man, you really missed the mark on that one. You completely whiffed.
That's it. That's the whole thing. bit Man, these polls... you really do this all the time, don't you?
Regarding that poll closing... honestly, I think you should just leave it open for the full 20 days, or let it just die out on its own. If you shut it down early, you're just going to have everyone breathing down your neck, complaining that you didn't give everyone a fair shot to weigh in. It’s a headache waiting to happen.

Some of you guys have closed much more reasonable threads right on time, or maybe even earlier.

I actually contested it—basically filed an appeal because it felt like the statute of limitations should have kicked in by now—but then out of nowhere today, I get this official notice saying I’m guilty. And get this: they ruled against me just four days before the deadline passed! Talk about bad timing. Plus, they took three whole months to even mail me the decision. Total joke, right? I don't see any way to appeal this anymore, but I’m staring at this paper wondering... what now? Am I stuck paying this? To make matters even more annoying, they added $50 for "court costs" on the notice, but the actual payment slip says $110. Is there anyone out there who knows if there’s any way around this or if I'm just screwed?

How can they just swoop in and seize funds like that without any warning or heads-up?
And why won't they give my wife the details—what this is actually for, how long the statute of limitations was, or who signed off on it? Was it some judge? Or an IRS board?
