rapidtinker45 said:Here we go again... We’re probably going to have to dig up that old thread asking, "Do these idiot commentators drive you crazy?" It's pure desperation. Every single time, I get the feeling they're just talking to hear themselves speak, and honestly, they know less than any of us watching at home. Anything they actually do find out seems to be recycled from their "colleagues over at CBS." And even then, they struggle just to translate basic info correctly.

Since my ability to actually process the news on F1-live.com is shot—mostly because what these commentators are saying has zero connection to reality—there's no point in listening. They just make things up, lie, and leave everyone confused. I'll just wait for the new broadcast at 4 PM.
Who's going to take the lead first? in Formula 1 ·
Not sure why they didn't even bring BAR to the table...

First, you've got Button bowing out, then Sato goes flying off the track... and finally, it’ll be high time for Michael Schumacher to call it quits because the car just can't keep up with the tech requirements! 👍
I’ve got a massive soft spot for the Subaru Impreza!

And Petter Solberg? Absolute legend. It’s honestly a shame there aren't any personalities like him left in Formula 1 anymore...

WayOut! Tell us quick, who’s your new driver going to be? 😠 😁

For what it's worth, nobody is ever going to talk me out of the fact that Heidfeld is better than Kimi...

It was nothing but a compliment... 😛

Look, I stopped misinterpreting everything you say a long time ago. It’s just that since you left out a smiley face and used that angry emoji, suddenly I'm the one being sensitive—like I'm just looking for an excuse to start a fight.😁

Honestly, I barely ever check this place online lately. I’m always running around in circles, so I don't have much time to sit around overthinking which posts or users deserve attention, but I will make an exception for
THE BIGGEST MOMENT ON THIS FORUM: Appointing Blackbird as a moderator

Though I have to ask Austin Evans—calling me the "Most Stubborn Formula Fan of the Year" is some kind of twisted compliment or what!?!?😠

Big thanks to Blackbird for putting me front and center, and thanks to mistybear87 for bumping my thread right up there!

As for the rest of you, I’ll forgive you since you clearly don't know what you're doing!
One day, when I've finally moved on from this forum, you'll all find yourselves missing my insights and my threads, maybe shedding a little nostalgic tear or two...
That's just how it goes for misunderstood geniuses like us.

Happy New Year, everyone!

The 2004 Season in Formula 1 ·
THE SEASON IS ALREADY RUINED WITHOUT VILLENEUVE!

I’ve pretty much stopped reading the news altogether. Now, my only weekly ritual is checking in just to see what kind of nonsense Villeneuve is saying...

😢

Honestly, after catching that live Rally broadcast on ESPN and seeing how much fun Solberg was having with the fans... I think I might actually switch over to following that instead. It's true, you don't see the same kind of overtaking in Rally, but then again, it's not like we see much of it in Formula 1 either...
Montoya to Mercedes in 2005? in Formula 1 ·
Hannah Sullivan3 said:Maybe we'll see a McLaren setup like the old Prost-Senna era again? Who would even fight for the seat? Kimi or Pablo?

Since we’re talking about Prost and Senna, here are a couple of interesting things Prost once said about Michael Schumacher:

"What annoys me most is the way certain drivers sign number one contracts leaving the number two with nothing to do but lick their boots," said Prost to The New York Post. "There is no natural, internal rivalry. Michael is an exceptional driver but the circumstances have worked very much in his favour. He has never been up against really sharp opposition either in his own team or outside."

During his F1 career, Michael Schumacher had to deal with teammates such as Piquet (only for a few races at Benetton), Brundle, Letho, Verstappen, Herbert, Irvin and Barrichello while prost was confronted in his team with Drivers such as John Watson, Ren Arnoux, Niki Lauda, Keke Rosberg, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Jean Alesi and Damon Hill.

As for Montoya, people over at Williams are already starting to grumble about how stupid it looks that they know their driver won't be driving for them in 2005. Maybe they'll get fed up with Montoyuz and snap him up for McLaren immediately, which would let Jacques head back to Williams, and so on... 😁
Bernie Ecclestone's moment of truth in Formula 1 ·
This is exactly what I’m talking about...👍
Bernie Ecclestone, you’ve officially earned my respect! 😁

But let’s be real—it's a hell of a lot easier to force those two drivers into retirement than it is to deal with the rest of them...😢

Blackbird said:The real issue is you don't have a teammate working for you. You have a teammate working for themselves...

To quote Nigella Lawson again: "Bernie always leaned toward Michael's insistence on having a driver who essentially played second fiddle."

1991: Andrea de Cesaris, Jordan-Cosworth
1992: Martin Brundle, Benetton-Cosworth
1993: Riccardo Patrese, Benetton-Cosworth
1994: Jos Verstappen, Benetton-Cosworth
1995: Johnny Herbert, Benetton-Renault
1996-1999: Eddie Irvine, Ferrari
2000-2003: Rubens Barrichello, Ferrari

And they were all world champions...

Raymond Palmer8 said:Besides, the "brother" won all six of those titles because of his team—if he’d been driving for Minardi, he probably wouldn't have even grabbed one. On the flip side, the team took home the constructors' championship just as many times because they had him behind the wheel...

Honestly, you could just argue that M. Schumacher actually holds seven constructors' world championships himself. 😁

Unlike Schumacher... he always catches me off guard with how upbeat he is. I'm used to Germans acting like Oliver Kahn... or Englishmen like Tim Henman...

Schumacher being rotten at heart? That’s a physical impossibility. It’s like saying a potato can have a "rotten soul." A potato doesn't have a soul, and neither does Schumacher. It just doesn't work like that. 😁

Carol Ortiz4 said:Hold up, did I seriously sleep through the whole race, or is Kimmi just driving like a total amateur right now?

Who’s actually the GOAT here?

Schumi!

So, based on how yesterday went, you’re really going to sit there and claim Schumi is the king while Kimi is bottom tier?
That’s a bold take... Nice work...
