Just two more actors who, in my book, are absolute legends: Christopher Lambert, right after his run with *Subway* and *Highlander*, and Julian Sands—who is just gorgeous and someone I honestly thought was going to absolutely dominate the high-brow, indie-darling scene after *The Room*... you know, like he did following Jude Law's lead. 😁 I mean, sure, he kept working and still gets roles, but it feels like his true potential just got stuck somewhere along the way, doesn't it? Or maybe that’s just me being dramatic. 🙂
So, we’re really doing this? We’re sitting around dissecting the whole George Cukor and Katharine Hepburn dynamic like it's some kind of high-stakes puzzle? Honestly, where do you even start with that duo? You’ve got Cukor—the absolute master of the sophisticated touch—pairing up with Hepburn, who basically owned the screen whenever she felt like it. It wasn't just about making movies; it was about this electric, almost surgical precision in how they captured elegance and wit. Was it just pure talent meeting perfect direction, or was there something more rhythmic, something almost symbiotic happening behind the scenes? I mean, can you even imagine modern Hollywood trying to replicate that level of polished, effortless class without looking like they're trying way too hard? It’s a hell of a legacy, isn't it? So, we're talking about Claude Chabrol and Isabelle Huppert? Seriously? Are we really going to sit here and pretend there isn't some kind of cosmic, cinematic lightning bolt that happened when these two started working together? It’s like watching a master architect walk into a room and suddenly realize they’ve found the perfect, most complicated marble to carve. You look at their filmography and you have to wonder—was it even possible for anyone else to inhabit those roles, or was she essentially built for his specific brand of psychological tension? It’s just wild, isn't it? So, we’re really doing this? We’re sitting around talking about Fellini and Mastroianni like they’re just two guys you'd pass on a street corner in Manhattan? Please. You can't talk about the sheer, unadulterated genius of that duo without feeling like you're missing the entire point of cinema itself. I mean, seriously, how does one man manage to capture such surreal, fever-dream levels of human emotion while the other guy just stands there looking like the embodiment of effortless, cool sophistication? Is it even fair to compare them to anything else in American film history? Probably not. It’s like trying to explain why a classic Scorsese flick hits different than some modern blockbuster—it's just built into the DNA. They weren't just making movies; they were crafting these sprawling, beautiful, chaotic tapestries of life that make everything else look like a cheap sitcom. You want to talk about style? You want to talk about soul? Then you talk about them. End of story.
blueraven6 said:You say it needs to be used daily. I wonder how many people you actually know who finished those courses, went through endless seminars, and even today, the second something new pops up, they scramble to sign up for another course just to see what it's about? Does the majority of these "spiritual seekers" spend over 20 years lost in these fantasies without ever moving past the starting line? Or do they just keep hunting for the next thing—new techniques, instant enlightenment...
Someone who has actually made progress will probably drop all of it because they won't need it anymore. Those little toys won't serve them unless they're trying to turn the whole thing into a business to make a buck.
The sad truth is there aren't any permanent results in the sense that you get enlightened once and then spend the rest of your life glowing in the dark.
What matters is that people put in the work, regardless of which technique they pick (and honestly, it’s good that people have options so they can find what actually fits their personality). It's just like how you have to take the trash out of your house every day if you don't want to live in a dump, or how people who want to stay fit have to hit the gym constantly—spirituality works the exact same way. You need continuous self-work; that's the only way to actually move forward and clear out all the mental garbage being shoved in your face every single day. I wish there was some magic wand where you could just say "cookies" and be "cleansed," but unfortunately, that doesn't exist. Only long-term, steady, hands-on work gets you actual results, both in the physical world and the spiritual one.
Benjamin Taylor6 said:The thing is, Slavinski rarely responds to emails—and when he does, it’s pretty stingy. Unless, of course, you order one of his incredibly EXPENSIVE books 😁 (his own, naturally) Otherwise, here is the list of instructors according to Slavinski: http://www.esentio.eu/treneri.html
Whether or not Ivanov is actually his student... honestly, I don't think that even matters for this discussion. What matters is whether someone here actually has hands-on experience or has completed one of these specific courses.
That isn't a list according to Slavinski, it's just the Esentio list. 😉
Is Ivanov his student too? Honestly, I don't think that matters for this conversation.
Actually, it matters because you're painting a totally distorted picture here.
All that matters is whether someone actually has experience—you know, if they actually finished one of these courses.
Courses are just there to introduce you to a specific technique, right? So finishing a course doesn't mean squat if the person doesn't keep training and actually working with the technique. Plus, if you want to be a decent processor, you have to put in the hours through long-term practical work with clients.
I've already "finished" most of the courses on your list, and I've been working intensely with a DP2, DP3, and DP4 processor since 2003. Even though I was "trained" for processing ages ago, I only actually started doing it myself this year. Peat is an incredibly powerful technique, and I truly believe it deserves its reputation as a New Age technology; it's just such a shame that the technique gets cheapened by being lumped in with spoon bending. 🤣
Benjamin Taylor6 said:You seem to think Ivanov isn't part of the M. Ž. Slavinskog school of thought, but based on what he actually offers? He absolutely is. Look at these examples:
Look, you've got all these people out there running their own DIY versions of his techniques—even the ones who haven't had a single day of actual training—so who knows what kind of mess they're making? You really should have linked the actual creator of the methods.
Slavinski has his own certified practitioners; why don't you just shoot him an email and find out if Ivanov is even one of them? 😉
Benjamin Taylor6 said:I was wondering if anyone here has actually gone through any of these modern techniques. What was the experience like—not just during the actual course, but how did things settle for you afterward? http://www.esentio.eu/index.html
The way the city works here is special because it’s basically a sub-plot for the movie itself...
Using Manhattan as the business hub is such a perfect move for showing a classic metropolis where Brandon thinks he can just vanish from his own "shame" and bury that deep, repressed craving for intimacy.
But honestly, a city like that is just a mirror image of Brandon—he’s basically a modern-day Casanova. 😁
It puts on one face during the day and a completely different one once night falls... just like the city does. During the day, it's this cold, detached playground for big capital, but once darkness hits, it's all lined with casual bars ready to host every sexual predator looking to unwind...
I’m obsessed with how McQueen handles the camera, specifically those long takes where he just clings to the actor so intensely it basically forces you to shut your brain off and actually process what the character is going through... like that one scene where his sister is singing to him. 😁
Then there's that restaurant scene—it's shot as one long stretch too, but it feels like you're just eavesdropping from the next table over, watching two people meet without any intrusive close-ups. It's pure genius.
But honestly? My favorite part is the way McQueen captures that underlying "brokenness" hanging over everyone; it's this constant, creeping trauma that just keeps unfolding in all its horror. He nails it. The tension between them is so thick you could cut it with a knife, starting from that bathroom scene all the way to that pivotal "talk on the couch" where you realize their shared trauma... it's heavy. 🙂
Olivia Mitchell14 said:And what am I even complaining about regarding your work on the PDF? I clearly mentioned astrology. Can someone else here actually step up and react? How much longer is Lisa Cox4 going to keep repeating the exact same thing over and over?
Look, you didn't really point out anything specific, and you didn't say anything when it was bothering you earlier—so now you get an answer from the admin. Whatever.
Like, what about those hundred-plus posts getting nuked from that Offtopic section? They’re all somehow tied back to how you just sat there and ignored everything regarding the astrology drama, which basically let the whole mess spiral out of control. The Admin has already been looped in, and honestly, I’ve even got this one perfect little situation saved that makes it pretty obvious why certain posts suddenly vanish right after a formal complaint is filed about your failure to actually moderate or keep things civil. I’d much rather explain the link to someone who isn't biased—and since I don't think you're being insulting, I'm assuming you aren't one of those people.
I'm under no obligation to list specific examples for you, especially since you've spent months completely ignoring my DMs regarding the constant insults like being called "unhinged" and stuff... I'll just deal with the actual objective parties from here on out. You had over half a year to prove you could be fair, and frankly, it's pretty clear you haven't lifted a finger. ☕
So, Grace, let me say it again—I don't see any point to this post other than pure trolling and harassment.
Olivia Mitchell14 said:I’m honestly wondering how far a moderator can go with these kinds of accusations against individual users without actually stepping up to provide a logical explanation or any real proof.
Look, on this forum, users are allowed to have clones as long as their original account hasn't been banned—and yeah, they can even have multiple ones. A moderator can act just like any other user and ask people not to do it, especially if they feel it's hurting the quality or the overall "vibe" of the community. That's exactly what I did. If the user doesn't want to fix it, the moderator can't just drop a ban on them for it; you just have to accept that your attempt at persuasion didn't work. And that's precisely what I did.
Besides, every single link you listed leads back to Chat topics. So, once again, you haven't actually specified what you're complaining about regarding the moderator of astrology—which specific rule are they supposedly breaking?
I'm complaining on my own behalf here because what bugs me personally about this forum is the insults and the trolling that just goes unchecked. If you're still struggling to grasp that, I can try explaining it again tomorrow—maybe via DM so I don't keep cluttering up this thread. 🤔
I didn't bother pulling out my previous posts because they haven't broken a single rule and, more importantly, they're actually on topic. If you disagree, then be my guest—go ahead and pick them apart, tell me what's wrong with them, or just penalize them if that's what the mods think is right.
I honestly don't have the patience for your dragging things out. I've got much better things to do tonight. 👋
Look, you can't just spam this thread; it's meant for clearing up confusion. You started this whole thing, so you need to see it through... otherwise, what you're doing is either pure trolling or just straight-up harassing the site staff (and believe me, someone actually reads these complaints).
So, you're out here acting like you're speaking for every single person on this forum? That’s just not how things work around here.
Look, you clearly missed the memo—if you're gonna make a complaint, you need to point out exactly which rule was broken and why *you* specifically have an issue with it.
