I was scrolling through some old sports archives last night, and it hit me how much we take for granted when a team suddenly finds its rhythm. You know the feeling—where everything seems to be falling apart, the preseason looks bleak, and everyone is writing you off, but then something just clicks.
It’s funny how we only realize how much a specific era or a specific person's leadership mattered in hindsight. When you're in the thick of it, you're just stressed about the next game. It's only years later that you look back and think, "Man, we actually had a fighting chance because of how that turnaround started."
I feel like modern fandom is so much more cynical. We spend all our time complaining about transfers or tactical failures, but we rarely stop to appreciate the grit it takes to turn a sinking ship around. It makes me wonder if we'll ever look back on this current decade of sports with the same kind of "what if" sentimentality.
Do you guys have a specific season or a certain manager/player that you look back on and realize they were way more important than people gave them credit for at the time?
Hey everyone. 🙂
I’m looking for some genuine friendship—the kind where you actually have someone to hang out with. I’m a 34-year-old woman living in Indianapolis. Between life throwing curveballs and being between jobs lately, things have felt pretty isolated and lonely. I’m done with that. So, here I am, posting this. I’m an introvert by nature, though I can shake that off quite easily when the company is right. A few things about me: I’m into computers, tech, and a bit of gaming; good music; cycling; long walks; deep conversations about just about anything; and the occasional shopping trip if the mood strikes. 😁
Just to be clear, I am strictly looking for friendship, not a romantic relationship. I have no issues with gender, so anyone is welcome. As for age, I’d prefer someone around my age, maybe within a five-year window, but I’m not being overly rigid about it. I consider myself a solid friend—a good listener and someone you can actually rely on.
Ideally, I’d like to meet someone with similar interests, just so we have common ground for conversation or activities. I’m not interested in the whole wild nightlife scene; I outgrew that a long time ago. I much prefer quieter spots, maybe a walk along the Mississippi River or through one of the local parks, grabbing an ice cream along the waterfront. 🙂
I appreciate humor and people who don't take themselves too seriously. If you want to know more about that, you'll have to ask. 😉
To cut to the chase, I’m not looking for endless texting marathons. I value face-to-face conversation, so I’m hoping to find someone from Indianapolis or the surrounding areas.
That’s the gist of it. My inbox is open, so if any of this resonates, feel free to reach out. 🙂
Is there any way I could change my username from Maria Peterson5 to Erratic? I go by Erratic on all the other forums I've joined, and I'd really like everything to be consistent. Thanks!
That’s not going to happen. It’s too different from what you’re using now.
Brian Murphy32 said:The funds are covered by the Democratic Advisory Board up to $133, provided the agreed interest rate doesn't exceed the publicly announced rate by more than 30%. Since you mentioned "some money," I assume we're talking about an amount small enough that it wouldn't trigger those higher negotiated rates anyway, so there's really nothing to worry about. You'll get your cash eventually. Maybe consider a 3-month CD instead; at a 5.2% yield, it’s actually a pretty decent deal, and if things get hairy, you can always pull the funds. Just keep in mind that for this promotional fixed-rate savings account, the early withdrawal penalty is 0.5%, with a minimum charge of $100
Fair enough. Thanks for the info. 🙂
I have a quick question regarding savings. I noticed that Wells Fargo is running this "Rapid Recovery Savings" promotion, and honestly, those interest rates look pretty tempting. I’m considering locking some cash away on a 6-month CD. I understand the mechanics of how it works, but I'm more concerned about the actual security of it. I've heard some whispers that Wells Fargo might be facing some turbulence lately, and I really don't want to be reckless and end up losing my shirt. Does anyone here have any insight into their current stability? Should I go ahead with the CD or steer clear?
Thanks! 🙂
How did you burn it? Did you set it to burn like a boot DVD?
@Echoplex: The mail carrier just delivers the cash right to your doorstep; you don't even need an invoice. You just sign for the delivery to confirm you got the money, and that’s the end of it.
Whenever I head down to the local FedEx Office to drop off a payment using a standard money order, the service fee usually ends up being $1.75. Did you actually get the account number yet? If not, you’ll probably have to deal with a postal money order instead, which means the funds get sent directly to their home address... Honestly, I'm not even sure which method you're talking about here...

Those explanations from the guys over at PC Expert are fine if you already know your way around a motherboard, but for a complete novice? It’s not enough. We shouldn't be tearing him down; we should be helping him out.
Thanks for having my back. I know how to navigate the BIOS, obviously, and I have a rough idea of what needs to happen, but a bit of expert guidance wouldn't hurt.
Hey everyone, I’ve got a question for you. I'm currently running an Intel Core 2 Duo at 2200 MHz. Does anyone know the best way to go about overclocking this thing?
