Man, you totally won me over with how constructive you were, so I guess I just went ahead and subscribed to the thread ☕

Keith Miller30 said:In theory, if science were to provide proof of God, I think I would find it rather disappointing; though, honestly, I don't believe such proof is even necessary, given that faith is fundamentally about belief. Wouldn't it be a bit disheartening to discover that God is something so elementary that it could be captured by the scientific method? I have always felt that God exists far beyond those bounds, so if some are able to grasp that mystery, then so be it.

With the elections happening yesterday, I completely lost track of time, but I just realized that the greatest athlete of all time has officially hit his 1,000th victory. Doesn't he deserve a standing ovation from everyone here for a man who is practically the closest thing to a god in the world of sports? ☕
🙏
restlesssurfer97 said:I’ll take my subtle biases over your blatant discrimination against believers any day, especially when you hide behind that fake "I don't have a problem with them, everyone should just believe whatever they want" act.
The hypocrisy here is honestly enough to make your eyes bleed, man. It’s just blindingly obvious at this point. And don't even get me started on how many of you are sitting there with hearts absolutely aching to jump on the bandwagon, just waiting for the chance to pretend you actually believe what you're saying.
restlesssurfer97 said:It feels just as bizarre when you think about it, doesn't it?
The only real difference is that one is just a fairy tale kept alive by religious fanatics, while the other is an actual scientific theory built on solid foundations.
🤣😂
restlesssurfer97 said:Or maybe it’s just the fact that two total nerds, sitting in some stinky garage with nothing but a single dim lightbulb, somehow managed to build the whole world where you and I can sit here and chat on a forum today?
Robin Fox2 said:It is actually quite interesting when you look at it. What evidence do we truly have that any of it exists? Perhaps a few saints who miraculously healed someone, though even that is debatable—and if they did, was it really God, or were they just exceptionally skilled healers?...
restlesssurfer97 said:KBKK?The odds of any of our theories actually playing out are, if you notice, pretty much identical because we're talking about the same fundamental thing here, something that just doesn't have anything to do with scientific data.
Sadly, I’m just not seeing it.
restlesssurfer97 said:I’m leaving the door open for the possibility that science might eventually advance enough to actually prove whether God exists or not.
I'm not making any hard claims here. Unlike you. And honestly, that's the whole difference.
restlesssurfer97 said:Nope.
restlesssurfer97 said:So, you're basically telling me you're leaving the door cracked open just a little bit, like maybe God actually does exist after all?
Robin Fox2 said:I honestly believe Islam is just inherently flawed as a religion; at its core, it spreads through force, having conquered 90% of its territory by the sword... When something is built on such a foundation, you can't just reform it into something better, which is the uncomfortable truth people tend to avoid saying, but whatever...
What really grinds my gears is the hypocrisy within Western liberal circles—they won't say a word when Scientology is making a fool of everyone, yet they'll jump to defend Islam in a heartbeat, purely because of the voting power...
Then again, I realize I don't actually care, since I live in a relatively homogeneous country, and if everything goes to hell, I'll just pack up and move to the States...
brightpilot6 said:Right, because Christianity was spread by flocks of white doves scattering olive branches and droplets of holy water across the globe, wasn't it? ☕
restlesssurfer97 said:I mean, who are you actually trying to convince here? Sorry, but you’d need to be way, way more persuasive if you actually wanted to pull that off.
Anyway, the bottom line is this: we don't know what it is, we can't prove it, so therefore it doesn't exist.
It's giving major religious fanatic vibes from the 15th century. 😂
Keith Miller30 said:If we connect this back to that recent marriage referendum here in the States—do you really think there are 946,433 religious fanatics living in America?
Robin Fox2 said:I’m not suggesting science holds all the answers. We can tackle the simple stuff, certainly, but when it comes to the truly vital questions, we’re still wandering in the dark. Perhaps somewhere out there, someone actually is watching us, looking down and thinking, "you guys really blew it; this isn't at all what I had in mind when I designed you"...
And let’s be clear, no single theory regarding the origin of everything is set in stone. Nobody actually knows what transpired; we just have our most educated guesses about how it all went down, but certainty? Hardly. If we were truly certain—as certain as we are of the chemical composition of water—we wouldn't be having these debates in the first place 😁 I am perhaps the least religious person on the planet, and I would gladly structure my entire existence around scientific principles, but being told "it just appeared" feels just as hollow as hearing "God got bored and decided to create everything."
