If you're looking for a neurologist, I can't recommend Dr. Ivicic enough at the downtown medical center. She is incredibly thorough—she actually takes the time to look into every single test result and detail, no matter how small. She has this amazing ability to connect dots across different medical specialties, which makes her approach really impressive. Honestly, she’s just wonderful!
Could someone please explain what it means when non-specific cylinders show up in a urine test? It doesn't specify which ones, just says "positive." Thanks!
Hey ladies, I wanted to say a huge thanks to @coppertinker13 for recommending this group for online shopping. If anyone ever needs help ordering something from a site that ships to places like Austria or Canada (think Bonprix, Marks & Spencer UK/EU, or Asda George...), please feel free to shoot me a private message. 😉
Here’s how the whole thing went down: a collector showed up right at our door, and once I let him in, he collected the $80 which I immediately paid via online banking since I didn't have any cash on hand. The guy mentioned that moving forward, they would just mail the payment slips directly to our address. The issue is that the two entrances to our building are connected by a hallway; he came through entrance number 11, so he wrote down that house number for the address, even though we are actually at number 9. I gave the service provider a call to see if there were any outstanding balances, but the representative told me there weren't any, because the previous tenant had been removed from that address after their bills were returned to the sender for six months straight. When we moved into our current apartment about two years ago, we officially registered our residency, and we've been paying everything regularly since then.
What I'm wondering is, do we actually have any grounds to complain? We never received a single bill because the address was wrong in the first place. Are we going to get screwed over just because we acted like "responsible citizens" and proactively reached out to the company to settle things?
Also, is it legally possible for them to backdate subscription charges for the apartment we were living in during that period?
Since the thread about the public broadcaster subscription is already closed, I figured I’d ask about this here.
My partner received an enforcement notice this morning for $160 plus $310 in legal fees due to unpaid bills from the first half of 2012. We just got our own notice today, but looking at the stamp from the law firm, it seems they initiated the enforcement process on January 18, 2013—just three days before the statute of limitations would have kicked in on that first unpaid bill. Based on that, I’m assuming we are legally obligated to pay everything they've listed?
The second thing is that we actually never received a single invoice from the broadcaster. We finally realized why when we moved; we found one of their old cards and noticed the guy had written down the wrong house number. I assume that isn't really going to work in our favor, and that we're still on the hook for the full amount?
And thirdly, what happens with the other bills that we never saw, and for which we haven't (yet?) received an enforcement notice? We lived in that apartment until February 2014, and we've been paying our subscription regularly at our new place since then. When we moved to a different neighborhood, we didn't think to notify the broadcaster of the change because, honestly, it never even crossed our minds.
darkmaker said:They eventually stretch out, so there is really no need to worry... my sister used to buy their models year after year, and they always ended up losing their shape... which is precisely why she finally gave up on them altogether.
Well, I finally swapped them out today. I spent about an hour wearing them around the house (honestly, I was mostly just sitting in them hoping that this one waistband would somehow give a little), but no luck. I think I'd honestly rather deal with taking pants in if I have to, rather than trying to make them bigger.😁
Does anyone happen to know how much Levi's jeans actually stretch out? I picked up a pair of the Bold Curve model—they have some elastane, they're soft, and they fit my legs and glutes perfectly, just the way they should. But the issue is that waistband area where the button is; it’s pretty stiff and digs in quite a bit, giving me that whole "muffin top" effect. I’m not under any illusions thinking I’m going to magically lose weight or anything, so I'm just wondering if that waistband will loosen up at all over time?
The top part fits great, but since these are a skinny fit, there’s a bit of extra room in the legs, especially towards the bottom. I’m torn on whether I should exchange them or keep them... if anyone here wears Levi's, I'd really appreciate some insight. Thanks! 🙂
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up some shipping bags? I’m looking for those specific poly mailers—the kind you usually get when you order a suit from a place like Men's Wearhouse or similar retailers. Is there actually a way to buy those separately? I checked with my local USPS office, but they really only seem to carry cardboard boxes.

I have the vanilla one myself, but I’m not really feeling it... I usually just mix mine with milk and skip adding any honey or glucose. Does it taste any better if I add those?
nimbleskipper89 said:...I still have some left over from back in January. I actually stopped taking them because I fell out of my workout routine, so they've just been sitting there gathering dust.
I’ve been wondering lately... why haven't you stopped eating? It feels like there's this collective assumption about what actually goes into the food we prepare ourselves. And I'm curious about your take on protein, too—why is there such an intense focus on hitting those numbers when you're working out, but then that logic seems to vanish during a normal day? What are your thoughts?
I honestly think I need to bump up my protein intake on days when I’m actually pushing my muscles through a workout, rather than just sitting on the couch in front of the TV all day doing nothing. It isn't like I don't understand what protein is, what it does, or how much I should be hitting daily; I've always tried to maintain a pretty balanced diet. However, since my eating habits haven't been exactly stellar lately, I decided to check the expiration dates on my supplements just to be safe before deciding whether or not to use them. I really don't see what the big deal is—I don't understand why asking a simple question like that is being treated as if it's somehow entitled or rude.😲
I know which foods are actually good protein sources, but since my life is such a whirlwind lately, I haven't been eating very well... I was thinking about just trying to pack more protein into a single meal to make it easier, but I'm honestly not sure how to balance everything out. Also, I was curious about the shelf life of some of these options—Christian Harris2, thanks for the help! 🙂
How long can protein powder actually stay good once it's been opened? I have some tubs sitting around from back in January—I stopped using them when I took a break from my fitness routine, so they’ve just been gathering dust... are they still safe to use, or should I just bite the bullet and buy a fresh batch? Also, does it even make sense to keep drinking them if I'm not working out? I'm vegetarian, so I don't get much protein through my regular meals, which is why I'm asking...
I mentioned earlier how happy I am with how they fixed my septum, rather than focusing on that "critical" part of my nose 🙂 I’ll post some before and after photos once the swelling goes down a little bit. My doctor told me my nose will still shift slightly as it settles into its final shape, so I’m going to be patient... honestly, it feels like the shape hasn't changed much, just the size. My goal was actually more about reshaping it than shrinking it. As for that second procedure... I don't know. This first one wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be, and I realized there's really nothing to fear, so I won't feel embarrassed about going back for another round. Though, it might be a while before I save up enough to see a private specialist... or who knows, maybe I'll actually start liking my nose just the way it is now, haha 😉
Everything you need is already laid out on this page and the previous one! rustygardener172, best of luck—please reach out and let me know how it goes!!!!
It’s been 12 days since my surgery, and honestly, I’m not happy at all with the results they got with my nose. Because of that, my next move will definitely be either Dr. Tony Stark or Glück... once I've saved up enough cash.🙂
I first placed my order on March 19th right after my initial checkup, and they initially scheduled me for April 26th. However, I wasn't going to be able to make that work, so I called them to push it back. I asked if I could just aim for sometime in the fall instead, and they were able to get me in on September 13th. Based on that, I'm not entirely sure what the exact wait times look like, but it seems like you might be looking at a month or two of waiting, potentially.
I finally made it home today. I have nothing but praise for the surgical center, especially the nursing staff—they were all absolutely wonderful! Dr. Stark was a little disappointing in terms of his bedside manner, but he seems to have done a solid job with the actual procedure. He didn't quite achieve everything I had envisioned, but my nose definitely looks more lifted and my nostrils seem a bit narrower; you can really see a difference, which is good. I still have bandages on, so I can't check my profile to see if that tiny bump is gone. It was such a minuscule thing that it didn't really bother me aesthetically, but I’ll find out how everything looks this Wednesday once the dressings are off.
As for the bruising, I didn't have any on the day of the surgery. They started showing up the next day—small purple patches under my eyes that turned green, and now they've reached a stage of being almost fluorescent yellow 😁 honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they started glowing in the dark 🤣
So, right now, I need to rinse my nose with saline and use some Caparison drops (which are actually intended for eyes and ears, so I'm a bit confused why I'm using them now, but oh well, I guess he knows what he's doing). Regarding the saline—do I need to drop the saline into my nose and then lie down to let it sit there for a while, or am I just supposed to spray it into my nostrils with a syringe over the sink?
Also, I am absolutely terrified that someone might bump into me on public transit or that my boyfriend might accidentally hit my nose. I've already managed to bump myself twice today! It's awful! 😲
