Blood-forming organs in Health ·
Honestly, I have no clue why we were taught it that way back in high school. 😬

Justin Fox said:That’s exactly why I think having cameras in hospitals could help curb the dominance of doctors who act like they’re absolute kings of their domain, answerable to absolutely no one.

And here you go again with these assertions that make me lose any desire to even attempt an explanation with you... 🙄

By the way, you completely dodged the question I asked in my previous post.

Would you actually want to be filmed for your entire shift?
Who is going to guarantee that those recordings won't leak to places they have no business being? Just as you refuse to put your faith in doctors, I certainly won't be placing my trust in journalists or the American Judiciary. 🥳
Phobias... in Health ·
Let me drop a little psychological insight here for you:

neonmarlin2 said:There isn't such a thing as an official "list" of phobias, because a phobia is just an extreme, irrational fear of any specific object or situation you can possibly dream up!

And then I'll go ahead and toss in my favorite little directory for all those fears: www.phobialist.com. 😁
Well, it looks like even a massive dose of multivitamins isn't doing much to help certain people learn how to read between the lines. 😁

Justin Fox said:Access to these medical scans needs to be strictly regulated by law—for instance, ensuring that only the patient themselves holds the right to view them.

So, what's the deal? Why wouldn't we just let some specialized medical board step in to evaluate whether we're actually looking at a case of genuine medical malpractice?

If we’re going to start suing over every instance of "bad behavior," I might as well file a lawsuit myself next time a bank teller snaps at me. Honestly, where does it end? If we litigate every single rude interaction, there won't be anything left.

Another thing—if someone decides to slap me, they’ll just get an even harder slap right back in return. Problem solved. Honestly, what kind of justice system are we even running here? ☕

Justin Fox Jamie Clark74 said:Yeah, I get it—healthcare workers aren't exactly going to be thrilled about being held accountable for their own actions.

By claiming that healthcare workers aren't responsible for their own actions, you’re essentially insulting everyone involved. You’re using broad generalizations that make it sound like you believe every single practitioner is perfectly competent, when the reality is that some are completely negligent. If you don't actually believe they are all beyond reproach, then you need to watch how you phrase things.

And let's be real—healthcare workers aren't going to take kindly to an invasion of privacy.

Tell me, would you actually want someone filming you for every single second of your workday?

Justin Fox said:Of course, those recordings have to remain strictly confidential; any unauthorized leak should be met with legal consequences.

Oh sure, our journalists are legendary for their commitment to data privacy... except when they aren't, in which case they leak absolutely everything under the sun. It’s getting to the point where they can barely keep up with exposing victims, let alone protecting those who are merely accused of something.

Good grief, they’re actually publishing the statements and identities of protected witnesses now... seriously? What kind of reality are you living in?

Justin Fox Jamie Clark74 said:It would actually be a smart move to hire more doctors and nurses so they could switch to shorter shifts—say, six hours instead of the standard eight. That way, they could stay sharp and fully focused on patient care without burning out, which honestly makes life easier for everyone involved.

Then go ahead and send that proposal straight to the Secretary of Health.
Yeah, it says that right there on the box. 😬 I don't think George Bailey2 was actually getting at that, though. 😁

Yeah, because honestly, there’s nothing more heartwarming than gifting your kid a video of their own birth for their birthday... 🤣 They'd probably end up suing you for emotional distress after seeing it... 😬 Thanks, but no thanks.

Justin Fox said:we should install cameras in hospitals so everything gets recorded, especially surgeries and maternity care

Oh sure, why stop there? Let's just set up a 24/7 live stream for every single operating room in America...

I guess we’d also need to film professors in their lecture halls to monitor their teaching, construction crews building bridges so we can see exactly where they messed up the concrete, or sanitation workers leaving trash on the curb... you get the idea. It's endless. 🙂

Look, I agree that certain things need to change... but this isn't the way to do it. 😳

Because there's already an existing thread about this movie.
Justin Fox said:Look at it this way: a dentist makes way more money selling fillings, bridges, crowns, and prosthetics to someone with cavities than they ever would by just giving preventative advice and walking away with nothing.

Sure, if you're running a private practice. 😁

Jamie Clark74 said:P.S. Besides local anesthesia, they might as well have just given her a sedative to take the edge off—something that actually works instantly—instead of all this nonsense about being "strapped to a bed." It's ridiculous.

I remember one time when I was getting a minor procedure done; they gave me local numbing, but then they went ahead and strapped me right into the chair. 😬 I’m just sitting there thinking, "Seriously? Why am I being tied down?" 🙂 😁
I honestly don't know; they might have already mapped out exactly how all six years are going to look [User456 🙄], but clearly, they haven't decided to actually share those details with the students yet... 🙂
Look, you don't study the history of medicine during your first year of med school in Chicago, you learn it by year six. 🥳 The changes they've made are just, well, unbelievable... 🤣 😂
