Now Andrej Plenković is actually going to push through those reforms

Paul Sanders5 said:Our politicians just love to poke fun at Eastern Europe. Like, "Oh, they're richer than us," or "They're more advanced," or "They're way smarter." Give me a break.

It’s such a crystal clear plan where everyone can just align themselves and prepare, truly impressive work. 🙏🙏
And check this out:
According to the Czech Minister of Health, Adam Vojtech, this plan for gradually easing up on epidemiological measures doesn't mean citizens won't have an obligation to wear face masks when they're out and about; using them is still recommended wherever preventing infection is necessary.

🙏 🙏

Around here, they're still just sitting on it and thinking about it, so once the folks down in the capital actually start relaxing the rules, things are probably going to get pretty chaotic. 🤦

Good grief 🤦

It’s honestly wild how much airtime these pharaohs get, especially when they basically only represent the public sector, you know? Sever mentioned they weren't even consulted about those economic relief measures, but I mean, why would they be? What kind of connection do they even have to that stuff? It’s just plain sick how they go around making up their own reality 🤦

I have no idea how fast they'll roll out these reagents to the rest of the world, but once this hits our shores, you'll be able to get tested at almost any local clinic.
My guess is that BC and Roche will release their versions pretty quickly too, making testing available at basically every community health center.
Of course, our Minister will find some excuse to claim why we shouldn't be doing it.

Five million tests for April, that's the move right there.🙏🙏

People are actually dying just because everyone is too terrified of COVID to even look them in the eye, and honestly, it feels like that’s becoming the new norm, so you have to wonder if Beroš is finally going to step down and call it quits.

We’ve already got people passing away because paramedics are scared to step in, and I can't even begin to wrap my head around the absolute mess we're facing with all these canceled surgeries, missed diagnoses, and delayed treatments...
As long as the task force has the backing of 94% of these sheep who won't question a single thing, I guess everything is fine, but man, that mindless follower mentality is just exhausting to watch.🤦
I mean, when people claim Americans are wild and uncontrollable, this is exactly what they're talking about.🤦

UEFA basically said they’ll have crowds back at every single match starting this September, and they’re giving their word on it.
The LA Galaxy are celebrating because they took that as a total guarantee from UEFA that the stands will be full.

The whole idea is targeted testing, at least that's how I see it, because if you actually have 150,000 tests available every single day, why on earth would you waste a mere 23,000 just on contact tracing? I'm convinced they're operating on a specific model here, and honestly, doing random testing is such a brilliant move, provided it follows a structured model of course. That way, you can actually make real projections about how much the infection is spreading through the general population. It’s pretty simple—the larger the sample size, the better the data.

Matthew Young35 said:You have to take several unknowns as a given. Honestly, that’s why this virus is such a nightmare; nobody actually knows anything reliable about it yet.

First off, how much will it mutate? It hasn't even been six months since it first appeared.

Second, is it seasonal? That matters immensely because, unlike the flu, we might not have enough time to prepare for a seasonal wave or get a vaccine ready.

Third, there are reports of people getting reinfected. While these accounts might be unreliable, considering how little we know about this virus, it would be foolish to assume that catching it once grants permanent immunity.

Fourth, the time and resources required for testing are finite, even if the tests themselves are free.

Fifth, how do you actually force everyone to get tested? How do you reach the people showing absolutely no symptoms?

There is more to consider, but that should be enough to start with.

There really isn't a beginning or an end to this stuff.

Just tell me this: if you were stuck with two choices, one being that we don't test anyone at all, and the other being that we (theoretically) manage to test all 7.8 billion people on Earth within 48 hours...

Which way are you leaning?

By the way, I'm only counting your answer if you actually believe this virus is a serious threat. Of course, we could always argue for doing zero testing, which means we won't even know the virus exists and we'll just end up with a higher mortality rate than a typical flu season, but that's a whole different conversation.

Regarding every single point you raised, the truth is we'll have more answers if we test more, not less. I honestly don't get how that isn't obvious. There isn't some magic option that solves everything perfectly; there are just better options and worse ones.
Don't tell me you actually think minimal testing is somehow a better move than mass testing?

There isn't any official data out there regarding how many tests they’re actually running in China, so we have no real way of knowing just how much those Chinese officials are actually helping out during this pandemic, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they're just pulling the wool over everyone's eyes.

Nah.

You’ve got to scale up, because honestly, the absolute worst thing you can do is fail to test people, which is exactly what Indonesia was doing until just four weeks ago, whereas the gold standard would be testing every single citizen at 9 in the morning every day. ☕
And within that spectrum, you’ve got everything from a total disaster to a flawless strategy, so really, it’s always better to just test more, and more, and even more...

As for those serology tests—you know, the antibody ones, feel free to correct me if I'm off base here—those are the tests we’re all actually waiting for, and they're already being rolled out, though we haven't seen any official stats yet.
It honestly makes me so happy to see how mass-scale the testing is in Germany and the US, which personally gives me the most hope, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised to see that the Russians aren't lagging behind at all. Anyone wondering why there's such a huge spike in Russia should realize that the Russians have also started running massive testing operations pretty recently, and even the Turks—if I remember right, maybe two or three weeks ago, they didn't have a single infected person.

The Americans are going to be testing everyone throughout the summer, then they’ll really kick things into high gear by autumn, and honestly, they’re already looking at a full recovery by 2021. Here, though, we won't see anything resembling a recovery until somewhere around 2027. 🤦

The Germans tested about 1.7 million people, which is only like 2% of their total population. 🙏🙏

wiredrider9 said:If 300-something people have actually recovered by now, what kind of math are these people doing to keep counting them as infected?

Look, the way everyone tracks this globally, the main number everyone focuses on is just the total number of positive tests, which is how it's been set up from day one, but there is also a separate count for people currently active with the virus, though that number doesn't get nearly as much hype or attention in the headlines.

We honestly haven't even scratched the surface when it comes to testing, and once we actually start ramping things up, we're going to see those infection numbers spike, which means we won't be seeing any easing of restrictions for weeks from this point on, I'm telling you. It’s honestly wild that we haven't stepped up the testing volume yet, like, this is a massive oversight at this stage, regardless of what anyone else thinks 🤦

Just look at how things are playing out, especially for everyone hoping for even a partial tourism season, because if we don't kick off heavy testing in May, while the rest of Europe is seeing case numbers drop, we'll be stuck in this weird bubble where cases are rising right here in America, and pretty soon we'll be the ones making headlines in all the major global news outlets 🤦

When they need to scare the masses, suddenly it’s this terrifying, lethal virus, but once they need to defend the healthcare system, the whole narrative shifts just a little bit:

BEROŠ IN CONGRESS TELLING REPRESENTATIVES THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IS WORKING 'Most people dying from covidom in America are dying with the virus, not because of it'

Honestly, give it to them, they really know how to spin it 🙏🙏🙏

Honestly, after a liter of pure ethanol, Karamarko might finally be the solution we're looking for.

Honestly, Karamarko left because of some total nonsense, but when you actually compare things now to how Plenković won't even lift a finger on certain issues, it feels like they basically tricked Tom into being nothing more than a glorified maid.🤣

Elizabeth Mendoza said:Those private nursing homes are a complete disaster zone. I know someone personally who worked at one near San Francisco for six months after being laid off before she finally found something else. Most of the staff there are working under the table, hygiene is nonexistent, the food is terrible, and people are just packed in like sardines. It’s heartbreaking—as soon as one resident passes away, they just shove another one right into their bed. There is absolutely zero care for the patients.

And don't even get me started on the quality of the staff; it’s honestly just one idiot after another.

The one in Miami is state-run. ☕
