It’s excellent—honestly, better than the first installment. The first tape is interesting enough and holds its own. It features a few solid jump scares, and the perspective—filmed through the mechanical eye of the lead actor—is a clever touch. The second tape follows a zombie with a camera mounted to his helmet, tracking his brief little adventure. A forester in a national park provides a great backdrop for the action, and that scene where they crash the party as uninvited guests? Pretty well executed. In my opinion, the third tape is the standout of this sequel. It’s shot like a documentary, following a crew arriving at a building owned by some old guy running a cult. It’s well-conceived, quite bloody, and the ending hits hard—especially that part with the goat-headed demon addressing the father 🤣. The fourth tape is the weakest link—a lack of imagination paired with excessive screaming. It feels like a typical Hollywood production, though I suppose it’s passable. All these tapes are being watched by two private investigators. As far as an intro and outro go, it isn't half bad. Now, I am waiting—and hoping—that they film a third VHS to wrap everything up and give us an epic finale. ☕
Patrick Martin said:even if I find it a bit tedious—it might be the best example of found footage out there (aside from the pioneer, the CIA) The Ring (2005) the balance they strike in it is just superior
I couldn't agree more. The Ring is excellent. 👍
Now I'm off to hunt down Saw II; apparently, it just hit the shelves at Blockbuster.
Robin Fox2 said:I actually prefer the American version over the original. If my memory serves me right, everything else is identical, and I honestly couldn't pinpoint any real distinction... 🤷 okay, aside from how the "infection" is handled, the rest feels like I'm watching the exact same movie
Yeah, they copied the whole thing.
It isn't bad, but the original still hits harder for me...
They’re overextending with these sequels—after an incredible first installment and a decent second, they should have just called it quits. The third one was absolute garbage. Maybe this fourth one turns out alright, but I highly doubt it.
This is the defining match for Wigan—a win here significantly boosts their chances of avoiding relegation. Swansea, meanwhile, are in a complete slump; they haven't secured a victory in seven matches and have failed to find the back of the net in their last three. Plus, there's serious doubt regarding whether their star player, Michu, will even step onto the pitch.
Roma currently sits in 5th place—right on the edge of an Europa League spot—but Udinese and Lazio are breathing down their necks (trailing by just one and three points respectively). Even Inter is lurking only five points behind. They simply cannot afford a slip-up here; the schedule is brutal, with upcoming trips to Milan and a home clash against both Napoli and their direct rival, Lazio.
Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals@1.85 (Parlay) There isn't much need for a deep dive here—we all know how these two sides operate. High octane, high scoring. Given that Barcelona is chasing a massive deficit after that 0-4 blowout in the first leg, they'll be forced to attack from the jump. Naturally, that leaves them wide open to Bayern’s counter-attacks. Why would tonight be any different?
Player to be Carded Schweinsteiger @4.00(Favorite) A player who picks up cards frequently—especially against top-tier sides where he's expected to shoulder more defensive responsibility.
Double Chance: X2@2.10 (Parlay) Barcelona is dealing with significant absences due to injuries and suspensions—particularly in a backline that has been leaking goals all season. I expect Bayern to exploit those gaps and handle this away fixture with clinical efficiency.
Juventus vs. Bayern Munich, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals @ 2.15
Juve enters this match facing a two-goal deficit—meaning they have no choice but to attack from the opening whistle. This inevitably creates space for Bayern’s quick strikers to exploit on the counter; therefore, I anticipate seeing goals from the Munich side. Furthermore, we shouldn't expect Bayern to sit back and defend a lead for the full ninety minutes—they learned that lesson the hard way during their Round of 16 matchup against Arsenal—so they will likely push for more. The numbers suggest that in their last 25 home games, Juve has failed to find the net only once. That is a factor worth noting.
The first one is convincingly the best. --all in all, I think the entire series is excellent because every sequel brings something new to the table while keeping the narrative moving forward.
In the opening match, Borussia controlled the tempo—generating three or four clear-cut chances—and could have easily settled the tie right there in Malaga. The attackers weren't exactly firing on all cylinders in that first leg; can one expect such a slump to happen twice? Not likely, especially when they return to their home turf where they are notoriously difficult to beat. Interestingly enough, Borussia remains the only undefeated side left in the Champions League. Having failed to defend their Bundesliga title, the club is clearly looking to make up for lost ground in Europe—and I don't see Malaga stopping them. On my second slip, I’ll be taking F2 @2.15.
Reading hasn't tasted victory in their last seven outings—they're desperate to climb out of the cellar. I expect a sudden spark from them; meanwhile, Southampton has just taken down two "stronger" sides—let's call them teams on a hot streak—and dropped five goals in those two matches combined. It's true they score frequently, but they also concede almost every single week.
One of my preferred actors 👍 His performance in American History X stands apart from his usual work—easily his finest. Then there’s The Score with de Niro; another standout role.
