Roger Allen3 said:you're taking a massive risk here🙂

You have any clue what happens if you screw this up? 🙂

I know😳
Drive99 said:no way

Honestly, I’d feel way more secure having Losert in the net than having Blaž in there.

For me, I only feel safe when Šola is back there.🙂

Yeah, I am.

If my memory isn't totally shot, today marks the anniversary of that massive win against the Mexicans in Tunis to clinch a spot in the semifinals.🙂
frozentiger6 said:Džomba is a man of action. He plays it safe like a total pushover until the semifinals, then he just goes absolutely nuclear. Even in that semifinal game against the Canadians, he was the only one keeping us alive.
I think he put up 12 goals.

Alright, enough of my optimism, time to switch over to the studio broadcast. We're about to get smoked by the Frenchmen by at least 8.

Yeah, but you gotta factor in the injury.🙂
And honestly, his head isn't in it either—he's clearly terrified of landing hard on that leg.

When you add all that up, I seriously doubt Džomba can play at his peak. But look, just let him give whatever he’s got left and hit those penalties. The tribalism is gonna be insane regardless.👍
brightscout63 said:What?! 😁

Dammit😁
I’m typing this live because my right hand is literally cramping up from all this damn writing...😳

Look, I don't want to sound like a total nutjob, but here's the breakdown for the right side:😁
Nobody until now has been anything close to a bunch of brilliant players (except for Ball).
brightscout63 said:You really think Kelly?

Some pro is gonna make the call tomorrow. I won't say who, just check my profile pic.
🙂

I doubt😁

Nobody is playing out of their minds here (except for Ball). Everyone else would just bounce from mediocre to superstar, crash into total despair, and then try to hit superstar status again. 😬

We need someone fresh tomorrow... maybe Metlifsky😈.
Actually, could be Sprecher, or even Bunting—honestly, I don't care, just get us a win.
Jonathan Booth5 said:It wasn't boldhound8, it was RSH—he's the one who dragged us all into this mess in the first place.😬

Vanessa said:Look, maybe we’re being way too hard on our defense😉 especially when you factor in how much Bo's constant "how the hell did they score?" freakouts and Sutherland's nerves mess with everything.

Trust me, I went back and watched the replay of the game against Iceland, and once you strip away Bo's over-the-top dramatics and all the anxiety, you can see our defense actually looks pretty solid😉 I mean, it's not legendary every single minute, but for most of the match, they were totally fine. Other teams have way bigger issues; at least ours are consistently decent. Not flawless, let me be clear about that,😁

Maybe I am being too critical, damn it. I've been conditioned to expect perfection, so this stuff just drives me crazy.😢

Forget about Sutherland... that's a whole different disaster.😬

I watch all our games, and honestly, I'm sick of hearing other people complain because a lot of teams out there play defense way better than we do... For us, it feels like every single shot ends up in the net. It's rare to actually finish an offensive play without getting burned.

We can mostly thank Scholl and the offense for these good results.
frozentiger6 said:Look, the French guys actually know how to run a 3-2-1 defense, and they do it damn well. That setup is enough for them to shut down our perimeter players.
We need to hammer them through the wings, force them to stretch their defense wide, and then let Bailey do his thing.

Against the Spaniards, I’d bet money it’ll be easier offensively because they pretty much only know how to play a 6-0. Sure, they play it perfectly, but if our shooters start heating up, they won't stand a chance.

The French can get aggressive on offense, which is our big opening, since their defense is always at least decent. We have to step up the defensive intensity. If we shut down Karabatic, we shut down the whole French attack. Everything runs through him—he's the brain—but he isn't even close to being on Bailey's level, so he's definitely stoppable.

It's true, a 3-2-1 won't stop us if we actually execute properly. We proved we could tear through stuff like that back in Portland and Athens.🙏
But man, Bailey is in such insane form right now that I seriously doubt anyone can stop him...

We just need to walk onto that court playing the way we actually know how to play.🙂
And stop screwing around.🙂
And for the love of God, finally play some actual defense... it's a freaking pipe dream at this point.😠

God, our defense basically boils down to:

1. Will Shola somehow manage to defend?
2. Will the striker miss his shot?
3. Will our guys actually set a block?
4. Will Bailey steal the ball?

You can't play like that and expect to win gold.🙄
frozentiger6 said:They’re basically forced to run a 4-2 defense with us, which is hands down the riskiest setup you can pull in handball. There isn't any other way to play it. Period.

Our defense is a complete joke. There isn't a single unit out there capable of stopping us.🙂

Running a 4-2 or a 3-3 is just asking for trouble. You’re basically handing them everything on a silver platter by opening up massive gaps for their wings and pivots to exploit. Honestly, you only even see that kind of desperate tactical shift when the game is already a total wash and everyone knows it's over.
A 6-0 blowout is basically suicide. Honestly, you only see a 5-1 scoreline if Bailey is having a total off day.
Vincent van Gogh said:Why the hell is our defense set up so shallow, like at the 7-meter line? I was watching the Spanish team yesterday and they had their defense pushed way back, like at least 9 meters out...

Because we're idiots...
We play block defense like we're some high school volleyball squad🙂

We don't step out to pressure the guy, so everything just sails right in. Seriously, if a player gets a running start from 7 meters and nobody is even bothering him, that’s basically a guaranteed goal. It's a joke.🙂

And on offense, we're playing it too safe because everyone plays this 4-2 defense against us specifically to shut down guys like Paul Bunyan and Lacković/Metličić.
I don't know if you guys noticed, but it's rare for one of our players to actually get a clean look to shoot without getting hammered. There's constant contact and fouls. That's just how handball works.
Drive99 said:give me a break, there's no way it's 100%

it's more like 60% recovered at best

Yeah...
There is zero chance he's 100% ready for this championship, he's definitely not up to it.

meddo said:, now it’s just about him breaking through that mental block so he can pull off those impossible jumps again. He's probably terrified of landing wrong on that leg,

It's all in his head...
Man, he used to just send it without giving a damn where or how he landed...
But now his own mind is screwing him over. It'll get better eventually, though.🙂

rustystag7 I can't even begin to describe how much this pisses me off. It’s absolute nonsense! Everyone thinks they have an opinion on this, but honestly? They don't have a clue. I'm looking at what's being said right now and it's just pure, unadulterated stupidity. You can't just make these kinds of claims without any actual proof. It’s frustrating, it’s exhausting, and frankly, it’s embarrassing for everyone involved. Get it together!
Look, I’m running a little behind here, but I had to take a second to mark the three-year anniversary of my 24-year-old uncle passing away. He was killed in a train wreck, and honestly, the whole thing is still messed up because they never actually figured out the cause of death. It just... happened. 1.2 miles Look, I know Cistine claims he blew through a red light because he didn't see a train coming, but let's be real—that's total BS. I know for a fact he was staring at his phone screen reading a text that said "The trophy is ours" right after our guys played the game of their lives. He probably drove straight into death just because he couldn't take his eyes off that message for one second. Pure stupidity.😢

I’m praying to God that we walk away with nothing less than gold this time around. Just pure gold. There's no other option because, let's be real, this squad is hands down the best on the planet. Period.

Total garbage.😢 😢 😢

You still thinking about that US vs. Mexico game back in Tunis? You know, the one where Šola pulled off those insane saves to clinch the win? I think it was 24-23.

Jonathan Booth5 said:boldhound8, get on top of this right now. She hasn't even proven a single thing!😬

There’s a cure for that too.😁

That guy is getting a permanent ban from the forums until Monday. He’s done.😍
I’m gonna drop a 24-hour ban on her this Saturday night. Period.😍

Inkvizitor said:Even Šterbik is laughing.. and I know exactly what kind of player he is..

if he actually made a save once in a while.. he’d be winking at our bench..😉..plus I gotta vent... next time will be better..🤣

No way..
Šarić is constantly grinning, and Šterbik gives a little wink to his bench after every single save🙂
Every goalie has their own thing going on... some guys go full Tarzan jumping everywhere, this guy just winks...

Goddammit, what a joke🙄

I told them right then and there—hell no.😳

Don't even bother...
It's a proven fact.🤣

I'm out here smashing my keyboard whenever the French get absolutely slaughtered by the Danes.😬

Thank God Džomba finally ripped those damn braces off his leg so he can actually play the way he’s supposed to.
Screw those braces.

Džomba isn't going to play the way he should at this tournament😢
Jebiga, Portugal showed the guy is a total genius (shooting 8/8), but he's just not 100% ready. Honestly, who cares? He's not even at 50% because of those injuries.😢
jebiga, he's still better than Balić🙂

But man, that goalie getting absolutely roasted on the seven-meter line today was hilarious.🤣

man, Vujovic is a legend! hands down my favorite guy on their national team

That guy Rio (is that right? - pivot) is a total beast...
It’s either a goal for them or we're done in two minutes
