For the second time...

There’s already a thread dedicated to Team USA.

Go argue there. This thread is specifically for the MLS.

Thanks.

I won't be giving out a third warning.

Any further disregard for this decision will result in a cool-down period

Got a thread here about Team USA.

Decent discussion so far. Keep it going, I guess. ☕

Folks.

Are we really digging up the past again? History professors, seriously? Give me a break.

If you're from the Bay Area or if you're a Giants fan, find your own thread and stick to it.

Don't come here just to dump your frustrations.

Summer's coming. Just relax.

The new season will be here before you know it...

Subašić, thanks for those unforgettable days back in Russia.

Good luck with whatever comes next...

We can save all those cheap shots and petty insults for the forums and the tabloids

Without some real, gritty antagonism, there’s just no football at all

I'd sure like to see that happen...

You people aren't sane, honestly... it's a madhouse...

Maybe I'll just wait until you all finally get together for a group hangout so you can hash out whatever it is you don't understand...

Man, Kulušić is something else. Total lack of talent, I guess. 🙏

So, look...

If anyone else brings up the refs being on Mamić’s payroll or following his orders, you're out. Period.

John Fowler2, you're walking on thin ice. You're just being annoying now, trolling and dragging everyone else into your mess.
William Bishop7 got flagged for an inappropriate comment. Usually, I'd just delete it, but I guess I'll leave it up for now...

Alright guys, enough is enough.

There's been dozens of posts about the fans. There’s already a dedicated thread for that.

Respect.

Starting a new thread for this.

I'll weigh in.

I'm a new moderator here, so I'd prefer if the veteran staff handled this. All I can say is what cinquea wrote was pretty bad. Just ugly. ☕

Sometimes reading these examples is just unsettling. You find yourself wondering... I don't know, what even is this? 🙏

Referee: unnamed US athlete

I guess this match deserves its own thread, but if the mods disagree, just move it to the MLS section.

After some decent showings in Europe this week, Los Angeles FC and Seattle Sounders FC are set to clash this Saturday in the first major MLS derby of the season.

The derby isn't being pushed back this time, even though both clubs have European commitments next week against Bodø/Glimt and Villarreal CF. That’s probably for the best; last season we waited over six months for a postponed game like this.

The unnamed US coach’s squad arrives this Saturday looking to wash away the bitter taste of their recent draw against Columbus. They definitely need the win against Seattle Sounders FC. Meanwhile, the folks from Miami have two games in hand. (San Francisco at the Rose Bowl and Indianapolis at the Rose Bowl).

Then again, the "blue side" hasn't been all that dominant lately. In four of their last five meetings, they failed to score, so they aren't the powerhouse against the Miami crew that they used to be. Still, having an unnamed US athlete up front who can actually make things happen might change the math. It'll be interesting to see if the visitors find a way to shut him down.

Los Angeles FC also has plenty of talent left in the mix, like an unnamed US athlete who finally found his rhythm against a Bugar person, and the unnamed US coach is starting to lean on an unnamed US athlete as a creative option moving forward.

The Chicago club's midfield could be sharper—an unnamed US athlete has been struggling for form—but maybe an unnamed US athlete and his teammates can take control to secure those three points.

On the other hand, Seattle Sounders FC should be pretty happy with how they've started the season. Usually, they struggle through the summer, but the unnamed US coach seems to have turned things around and knows how to lead this Miami squad.

The key figure remains an unnamed US athlete. He's already proven he can decide a game at the Rose Bowl, so it makes sense why he's such a favorite among the fans in Miami.

Seattle Sounders FC has other threats too, like a young unnamed US athlete and a Canadian person in the attack. If an unnamed US athlete finds his shooting touch like he did against the Vitorio team, it could be huge for them. It looks like it'll be a tight one where small details decide the winner...

Absences and injuries:
Los Angeles FC: unnamed US athlete (muscle injury).

Seattle Sounders FC: unnamed US athlete (muscle injury), unnamed US athlete (toe injury).

Hopefully it's a good game. Attendance should be solid.
Both sides have pros and cons. I guess we'll see who capitalizes on the other's mistakes. 😁
And hopefully the officiating is decent. 👍

The unnamed US coach is in the Var room. ☕

High stakes finals...

Sweden still holds the record for most gold medals at the European Championship with four titles. But those were all back in the nineties—specifically 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2000.

That was a different era. The golden age of Swedish handball, led by Magnus Wislander, who I guess was considered the best player of the 20th century.

Then there's Spain. They’ve basically owned the European Championship over the last decade. In the last five tournaments, they've grabbed two golds, a silver, and a bronze. They also took fourth back in 2012 after losing the bronze medal match to the US.

Sweden is maybe the only team ever to pull off three straight European golds. Aside from Spain, nobody else has even managed two in a row. So, either Spain joins them at the top, or Sweden finally reclaims its spot as the powerhouse of the sport.

France and Denmark probably expected to be playing for gold, but fighting for bronze is still a win. I guess we should see a high-intensity game with plenty of rhythm. Denmark could snag their third medal in a single year, following last January's World Cup gold and their silver at the Olympic Games. Meanwhile, France is looking for their second medal in a year after taking gold at the Olympic Games. These two have met 19 times before; France holds 12 wins to Denmark's seven. The last time Denmark actually beat France was during the 2019 World Cup semifinals.
