That’s what you get with that goalie...
We've been shouting about this for years...
Still, Spain is close... even if they have their own nutcases in goal...

In the second semifinal, we’ve got the two most decorated teams in European Championship history going at it. Sweden is chasing their fifth title—they’ve got four already—while France is looking for number four. These two met back during the World Cup 2021 when Sweden came out on top. France will definitely be looking for some payback after finishing fourth that time. This tournament hasn't been easy for the French; they actually suffered their worst Euro loss ever against Iceland (27-21) during the main phase, which forced them into a must-win situation against Denmark in the final round. But I guess they showed they can step up when it matters and pulled it off. As for Sweden, their group stage was a bit of a mess—one win, one draw, and one loss—but they managed to scrape through to the main round. Just like France, they needed a win in their last game, this time against Norway, and they barely pulled off a comeback in the final minutes.

The current European champs from Spain are going up against the reigning world champs from Denmark in the first semifinal. Lately, these two—along with France—have basically been running the show globally. Spain took home titles at UEFA Euro 2020 and back in 2018, while Denmark won the 2021 World Cup and the one in 2019. Still, Spain hasn't really figured out how to beat Denmark since 2015. Denmark actually knocked them out during the 2021 World Cup semifinals and again at the Tokyo Olympic Games. I guess the head-to-head record favors the Scandinavians at 16-7. As for this tournament, both sides have six wins and one loss each; Denmark lost to France, and Spain lost to Norway.

Quick question. Can I start a thread for USA vs. Russia this Sunday? ☕
I know it might not be the standard move, but I have a feeling people here might dig the idea.

You know how it is—last game of the group stage, and you've got two of the biggest heavyweights fighting for a spot in Qatar...
Maybe I could handle the Bundesliga 👍
Michelle Palmer6 said:It really wouldn't hurt if we started opening the threads for the matches scheduled earlier first, don't you think? If anyone feels like picking up where we left off, please do!

I set up USA vs. Germany for today and then Netherlands vs. France for tomorrow...
I guess I don't mind starting these threads, unless someone beats me to the other games.
Michelle Palmer6 said:Exactly, every match deserves its own spotlight! I’m thinking about putting together a quick little breakdown for the USA vs. Canada game, so feel free to grab the others.

I'll do England vs. Germany.
Should we start opening the round of 16 matches?

Can I go? Maybe I'll post in an hour or an hour and a half...
Can I go? 😁

A man refuses any help from his daughter as he ages. As he struggles to wrap his head around his shifting circumstances, he starts questioning his loved ones, his own mind, and maybe even reality itself.

Small family dramas are just better than any other genre. I guess they always have been.
It’s a low-budget production, but emotionally, it’s high-fidelity. It hits all the marks: a heavy, relatable story, a solid script, and acting that is—well, it's masterful.

For playing a father with Alzheimer, Anthony Hopkins basically deserves an Oscar. And Olivia Colman is probably just as close to winning one for her supporting role.

I won't spoil much. Don't look for shock value here. Just expect an emotional outburst. In this dull, anemic era we're living in, that might be enough. The ending is... heavy. Heartbreakingly beautiful, but painful.

Sir Anthony, massive respect. 👍 👍 👍
Lorenzo Lamas? 😁
Not sure if he was mentioned.

Guy had a few notable roles.
Still acting... I remember him from Grease... back when Sandy had that brief thing with him... he was an athlete 😁

Santa Claus goes up against a hitman hired by some little brat who’s fed up with the whole holiday thing 😁

Mel Gibson playing Santa Claus 🙏

The guy stays consistent... and those lines in the trailer are pretty wild

Maybe this could be the best Christmas movie since Die Hard 🍿

WHEN THE CHASE ENDS.

All those scenes with Hopkins. Honestly, it still gives me the chills. And he was only on screen for about 20 minutes. Unbelievable. 😲
Your top 3 Sci-Fi movie scenes? in Movies ·
Heavy topic. 👍

1. The Terminator. That moment when Linda Hamilton yells: You´re terminated fucker!! Unbeatable.

2. Terminator II. Arnie sinking into that liquid metal. And then just THUMBS UP 👍
I mean, the movie is packed with all-time classics, but that one was... ugh. 🙏

3. Predator scene: If it bleeds we can kill it! 🙏 🙏 🙏

You shouldn't even bring up topics like this. You really shouldn't...😁

Grace Cruz4 said:Just finished rewatching The Untouchables. What a masterpiece. Honestly, I think this one is criminally underrated for its genre—it’s easily one of the best. It’s just packed with iconic moments, that unforgettable score by Ennio Morricone is legendary, and De Palma is clearly at the absolute top of his game here. Between Sean Connery and the rest of that stellar cast... man, everything about it is just perfect. I really feel like they don't make movies this good anymore.
This scene is pure gold 🙏

Kevin Costner was great, Robert De Niro was perfect, Sean Connery was masterful. I guess the best part is how it avoids being overly sentimental or filled with pointless dialogue. Everything flows. No dragging scenes, the fights feel real, the acting—especially Kevin Costner—is solid. The pacing is right, too; it doesn't feel rushed, even the ending. A great movie. That Morricone intro is legendary. Yebenica.

Personally, I’d say it’s one of the best films from that decade. A total masterpiece. You just end up watching the whole thing in one sitting. Really good.👍
