How to track ovulation days? in Women's Health ·

Don't mention it... 👋 ..... just try to be a little more careful moving forward. 😁

I agree that women should have the right to choose. However, I believe that choice should happen before the act, rather than after the fact when facing an abortion. If people took a moment to consider the potential consequences of their actions beforehand, the need for abortions would be significantly diminished. Everyone seems focused on dealing with the outcome instead of addressing the root cause. It is always better to prevent a problem than to try to fix it later.

Really? 🤔 If memory serves, I believe I mentioned earlier that everything I said should be double-checked. I’m certainly no expert in this field, and I'm far from infallible. What I shared was mostly based on what I remember from freshman year of high school—which was about ten years ago. So, there it is.

Adam Taylor7 said:The issue is that I've been with two different guys. With one, we used a condom, but my period started right after we finished. I'm 99% sure I'm fine there, but with the other, we had unprotected sex about ten days ago. I just don't want to spend the next nine months living in fear. My period is usually about five days late, but given the circumstances, I'm feeling pretty anxious.😢

First things first: head to a local drugstore and pick up a pregnancy test.

If it comes back positive, make an appointment with your OB-GYN. From there, you can decide how you want to proceed.

Otherwise, pulling out is a notoriously unreliable method of protection.

Adam Taylor7 said:Look, everyone, let's stop bickering. This is actually a serious matter.

I am being serious. You just haven't clarified if this is about establishing paternity or simply calculating the due date.

As far as I know, paternity can be determined before birth via amniotic fluid testing—I believe the procedure is called amniocentesis—though it does carry significant risks... 🤔 ....

Generally speaking, it would be best to consult a specialist OB-GYN. They possess much more expertise than I do and will be able to provide definitive answers to these questions.

As for the arguing, some people clearly have inflated egos; they feel entitled to judge and critique others' posts based on their own arbitrary standards without adding anything meaningful to the conversation. And of course, when they're proven wrong, they immediately play the victim. Personally, I couldn't care less about the opinions of people like that.

If you don't have anything constructive to add to the discussion, it's better to stay quiet. Anyone can tear down someone else's point; it takes very little effort.

Thanks

I believe you can get it done at just about any local clinic. Your best bet is to see your primary care physician first to get a referral. It'll end up being much cheaper than going strictly private—you'd likely just be responsible for a small co-pay.

As far as I know, ovulation typically occurs somewhere between day 10 and day 14 of the cycle, counting from the start of the last period.🤔...

Of course, there's always the possibility of an early ovulation occurring...

You can also estimate the date of conception by measuring fetal size via ultrasound, though even that is just a rough approximation.

If the core issue is determining paternity—given that you mentioned she was with two different men within a ten-day window—the only foolproof method is a DNA test or a blood test to establish biological fatherhood once and for all.
How to track ovulation days? in Women's Health ·
If my memory serves me right, conception is typically calculated as being two weeks from the start of the last period, though actual conception can occur up to seven days after that—roughly day 21 of the cycle.🤔 ....

Megan Reed said:Physical size? Really? 🤣Is that the metric?

I actually find this argument compelling. Yes, terminating this is fundamentally no different from taking a grown man—a worker, a husband, a father of several children—and rendering him into soap.

I'm not sure what exactly you're fantasizing about, but I suspect you're picturing a fetus sitting in the womb reading Proust. It is biological life, certainly, but it isn't a person. And no, having the early beginnings of brain vesicles is in no way the same as having a fully developed brain. Perhaps look into some basic embryology while you're at it.

And what makes you so certain that this child (assuming they aren't aborted) won't grow up to be a laborer, a husband, or a father, and perhaps even become the next Einstein? Can you state with absolute certainty that they wouldn't have been capable of that? Do you possess the gift of foresight? The issue seems simple: you are limiting your perspective to the present moment and yourself, acting as if the future of others doesn't exist.

Death is death; the only variable is the timing. Once someone is dead, it hardly matters whether they were an intellectual capable of reading Proust or merely a child, born or otherwise.

Lisa Barrett22 said:Take a look at those photos Jessica Perez93 posted.

I had no idea an eight-week fetus already looked like a "real" baby.😢

Most people don't realize this. There’s a widespread sentiment, particularly among staunch abortion advocates, that if you can't see it—and since the fetus is developing inside the womb, you can't—then it doesn't exist.

As for those who insist that comparing the Jewish Holocaust of WWII to the modern scourge of abortion is absurd, they likely do so because the victims of abortion aren't "visible" in the same way as those from the Second World War. Regardless of how you frame it, whether it's abortion or a bullet to the head or a gas chamber, the end result is death. The only difference is the physical scale of the victims. During WWII, roughly 6 million Jews were intentionally murdered in pursuit of certain "higher" goals. Consider how many abortions are performed globally every year, also driven by "higher" objectives—though in this case, those objectives might be career concerns, finances, physical appearance, or social pressure...

Sean Grant85 said:Let’s be clear: I am fundamentally opposed to abortion, yet I simultaneously believe a woman should have total autonomy over her own body.

The reality is that a woman's bodily autonomy ends where the child's life begins. Unfortunately, many people seem to ignore that fact simply because they can't see it.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:The fact that you rely on double standards proves how inexperienced you are. Digging into my private life is your specialty—you actually dared to comment on my wife, whom you’ve never even met. So, you insulted someone who isn't even part of this discussion!👎

Where? When? Give me specifics. Provide some actual evidence. Any fool can fabricate what others said and project motives onto them.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:I don't care about your decisions or your private life, BUT your decisions have nothing to do with her from the start. You allowed yourself to make all sorts of comments regarding her character and actions... and now you're complaining because you got burned.😁 Don't try to play in a league you haven't earned a spot in. It's that simple.

I simply stated my opinion on abortion, which is my right, regardless of what certain individuals like you might think.

And I get the impression that the one who isn't quite ready for adulthood is the one who uses sex as the sole metric for a person's value.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:A young, healthy man around, say, 25 years old isn't normal if he lacks any sexual desire, regardless of how attractive people are to him.

Oh, so now you've granted yourself the authority to decide who is normal and who isn't. That says plenty about you and the caliber of debate you're capable of having. As I mentioned before: intelligent people discuss problems; fools discuss people.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:A woman will have an abortion with or without your permission, but while you're busy moralizing to others, you have less time to deal with your own mess. A practical solution.😉

Where did I ever say she shouldn't have an abortion? Name the instance!

...but honestly, I don't feel like wasting my time on these mindless bickerings just because someone (you) needs to stroke their own ego. As far as I'm concerned, have it your way. The smarter person yields.👋

Matthew Sullivan32 said:I have more than enough arguments to work with. You’re the one who started judging people, which is interesting, considering you seem to have a hard time following your own advice.

And those are what, exactly? You might have some valid points, but it’s pretty obvious you just can't stand anyone else's arguments if they happen to contradict yours.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:2. This comment is actually relevant.

Generally speaking, taste isn't up for debate.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:The judges seem to be evaluating people based on their attitudes toward sex; apparently, you’re better off staying a virgin. 😁 Sex is a far better pursuit than illness or the struggle of raising offspring—though, to be clear, I have nothing against having children with the right woman. 🙂
Otherwise, you’ll just end up finding some innocent girl and shaming her for having desires. If she wants a messy orgasm, let her have it. 😁

Since we've run out of actual arguments, I suppose we’re moving on to personal attacks and digging through private lives now. Just mind your own business. My personal life and the decisions I make aren't your concern—nor does any part of this conversation give you the right to judge whether they're good or bad. Besides, that's not even what this discussion is about.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:Age gaps aren't inherently discriminatory. It’s just a fact that certain years bring a level of experience that can't be faked. When some kid tries to lecture me on what sex is actually like, it feels a bit like being blind from birth and trying to describe the house standing right in front of you. It just doesn't hold water.

You don't need to take a bite of the cake to know it's sweet. As for the blind, they often see more clearly than some "experts" with perfect vision—people who have everything laid out right in front of them, yet their own egos block the view.

Kenneth Alvarez37 said:It’s not just about avoiding illness or accidental parenthood. Anyone using their head probably finds the best of both worlds—depending on how you look at it. But someone who avoids sex entirely, along with any risk of disease or unplanned kids? They're either living in fear or stuck in a bad movie.

Moderation is key; that goes without saying. But when you say, "someone who avoids sex entirely... is living in fear or a bad movie," the implication is that people choosing to be selective aren't just cautious, but somehow odd or repressed. On the flip side, if someone lives recklessly and ends up facing health issues or an unexpected pregnancy, they act as if it’s everyone else's fault rather than their own.

At the end of the day, we all live with the consequences of our own choices.

Carl Hernandez2 said:Matthew Sullivan32, you really are something else. You managed to look at Peter Myers29’s username and deduce that he's somehow under 25. Sharp.

It’s fascinating how, when people run out of actual arguments, they immediately pivot to searching for excuses to discredit someone else. Most often, they just fall back on age. Apparently, because I’m younger, I simply don't have a clue. If I happened to be older than him, I’d probably be dismissed as old and senile, wouldn't I?

Carl Hernandez2 said:Look, man, the women you claim to be "meeting" wouldn't give you the time of day, and I honestly get the feeling even Peter Myers29 isn't particularly interested in any of them either.

I wouldn't even trust those enough to lean my bike against them. 😁

Carl Hernandez2 said:It’s better to be a man than a phony.

Exactly. And honestly, what’s the harm in someone being a guy? At least he's being upfront about how he thinks, plus there's no need to worry about any drama or the complications of accidental offspring.

Hannah Davis18 said:I wonder what the actual percentage is among parents—those who might have opted for an abortion earlier in their lives.
Give that some thought.😉
I’m telling you, there's a significant chance this actually happens.
You can find data online detailing how many abortions were performed back in 1979, for instance.

What if some parents have already gone astray? If they actually give a damn about their children, they’ll likely be the first ones advising them not to follow in their footsteps.

Confucius once noted that there are three paths to wisdom: reflection, upbringing, and experience. He argued that thinking is the most noble, education the easiest, and experience the most painful. The issue we face today is that hardly anyone pauses to consider the consequences of their actions anymore; people simply live for the moment, only to find themselves in a bind later when they're looking for a way out. Real guidance seems to have vanished, too—kids these days are being raised by television, computers, the Microsoft Xbox, and whatever peer group they happen to run with at school. As for experience, the wise learn from the mistakes of others, while the fool fails to learn even from his own.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:So you only sleep with someone after subjecting them to months of scrutiny—consulting your old friend, your best buddy, and at least two therapists? Then they all decide she’s too unstable, and once again, you fail to make a move.

What can you really learn about a person during a shallow month or two of dating? I’ve noticed that most modern relationships (especially between physically attractive people) are basically just weekend trips to the club—hitting the same spots with the same crowd and flirting in the dark. As soon as things shift unexpectedly, the problems start, which usually leads to a breakup. It typically happens when the image isn't as perfect as they imagined (say, a child enters the picture). It's a sad kind of love when a minor complication can destroy the whole thing.

Matthew Sullivan32 said:Then you come venting here. Why do women go to bed with jerks? Because it's simply not written in your destiny.

It's because they're naive and think they have it all figured out. They swallow nonsense from teen magazines as if it were universal truth, rather than asking their parents—who certainly have more life experience—when they're unsure about something. Plus, there's a massive group of guys who tell women exactly what they want to hear just to get what they want. Combine that with a girl falling for a guy because he's handsome, successful, or wealthy, and you see why the honest guys who actually care about a woman often end up losing out.

In other words, all those women who build a template of what their "perfect man" should be often find themselves blindsided when "Mr. Perfect" suddenly vanishes for someone better. There's a reason people say, "be careful what you wish for."
bluewalker36 said:Look, I'm not necessarily against abortion, but I just can't wrap my head around this behavior. You go and get intimate with someone who acts like they're just picking up a pack of gum at the drugstore.🙄 😲

The fact that some women judge a "perfect" man solely based on his physical attributes rather than his character speaks volumes about their maturity. They cycle through dozens of guys—better and worse—only to frequently end up pregnant (often by accident) with the one who has the best physical gifts but the worst personality. Usually, he's a jerk who lacks the backbone to step up for the child he created, leaving the woman to deal with it alone so he doesn't ruin his reputation as a player.

There’s also a procedure—I believe it's called scintigraphy—where they inject a radioactive isotope that settles in the bones. Using an X-ray or a similar imaging device, you can pinpoint exactly where there's an issue, whether it's an outgrowth, a cavity, or some other kind of abnormality. 🤔

As for densitometry, I think that's a fairly straightforward method for detecting osteoporosis...
