Betty Rogers2 said:Do you ever honestly think Roberto Carlos actually knows what he’s doing?... I mean, maybe he does, but it doesn't really matter since he plays left back, where he can just outrun everyone anyway

And why wouldn't he need those skills? If he ends up in a one-on-one situation, any player would need them. That’s my point—when they find themselves in a spot where a dribble is actually desirable, they should be able to attempt it. I’m not talking about the Mikica approach—just hoofing the ball and sprinting after it—but actual feints, sudden changes in direction, rolls... you know, real technique. I say this because I genuinely don't get why people label a player a "genius" just because they pull off a little flair with the ball. To me, that kind of skill should be standard for anyone willing to take on a defender. It often boils down to just kicking the ball ahead and outrunning the opponent, usually done so naively that it actually helps the defender read their next move.🤷Players like Ronald (both of them, really) aren't doing anything wrong—they're just doing basic things during a match, yet the media turns them into icons when they're really just playing with the ball.🤷

The real question is if they can actually pull them off during a game.

☕

To be honest, I’m not so sure everyone actually knows them. Take Jurcic and Thomas, for example—I wouldn't go so far as to say they can't trap a ball properly, but let's just say there's a massive gap between knowing the drill and actually executing it under pressure.☕

I honestly find myself wondering what players are actually doing during practice, given their technical skill levels. Is it truly possible that someone like Simic—or any player who isn't naturally gifted with the ball—just can't pick up basic dribbling or a simple feint? It feels a bit illogical to me. You have these professional athletes who are supposed to be inseparable from the ball, training every single day since they were five years old, yet they still can't pull off a move like Figo or others... The weirdest part for me is watching commentators act completely shell-shocked by a dribble from Figo or Ronald, treating them like they're from another planet, when in reality, those are things every single professional soccer player should have mastered by now.🤷

I honestly don't get why you're still taking that if it's making you feel so lousy🤷

I see right through people like you.
It’s fine to criticize the West, but the moment someone tries to look closely at the Middle East, suddenly everyone is a liar or a conspiracy theorist... Come on, grow up and see things for what they actually are.

You conveniently skipped over the first part of the post.☕

😂🤣

Let's look at the last decade or so

Orthodox Mexicans (the US, Canada, Canada, Republic of Mexico)
Orthodox Russians (Chechnya)
Jews (Lebanon, West Bank, Syria...)

And now the heavy hitters

USA - Iraq, Kuwait, Mexico, Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan

Then the smaller clashes:

Basque Country vs Spain
Georgia vs its neighbors
Colombia vs itself

Now let's talk about Africa—there's always something going on there

Rwanda
Kenya
Ethiopia
Eritrea

And that’s just a tiny fraction of what's happening out there!

So, tell me straight—either I'm clueless or you're a total idiot
meaning
Tell me honestly: are all of these people and countries Muslim and Islamic nations!?

Nobody's probably going to answer this one; I suspect they'll just try to change the subject.☕
Coffee: yay or nay? in Health ·
I usually just drink it to kill time—it really depends on how long my break is at work. I’ll grab a soda just so I have an excuse to linger at the coffee shop a bit longer; otherwise, I’m done in two seconds and it feels awkward just sitting there staring at nothing🙂...but honestly, when I don't have one, it's not even on my radar. I don't even think about it. That's why I don't really get the whole addiction thing people talk about—I don't deal with any withdrawals or anything if I skip it.🤷
Coffee: yay or nay? in Health ·
I don’t think I’ll ever truly wrap my head around this whole coffee addiction thing—I mean, if I were drinking ten cups a day for a month straight, I’d probably be a lost cause by then.🤷
Starbucks in Health ·
I remember back when I was a kid, a single bottle of Kraft would barely last me three days before it was gone.😕I haven't really felt any lasting effects from all that sugar, but I don't go out of my way to drink it anymore—maybe just once in a blue moon if I'm feeling it.
wanderingcobra2 said:Can you actually tell me which blood pressure meds are messing with the thyroid? Like, are we talking about hypo and hyperthyroidism being caused by the pills themselves?
Some drugs can just mask thyroid issues if they aren't caught early on. Honestly, you're just talking nonsense.

I was just passing along what a friend's doctor told her—and honestly, I hope it is nonsense, because it sounds like it to me. But I have to admit, this whole situation feels off to me too. Take this guy, for instance—he’s 33, felt his blood pressure spike slightly, and immediately got slapped with a prescription. You know how doctors are; they see ten people a day all complaining about blood pressure and just hand out pills like candy, and apparently, that's perfectly fine (I'm a living example myself—I walk into the clinic all worked up with a reading of 145/95, and the doctor just pulls a Norvasc out of his pocket and tells me to take one right now)😕But I really think there are other ways to approach this at the start—things like diet, eating plenty of grapefruit, garlic, and cutting back on meat—especially processed stuff. If that doesn't work, then sure, move to the pills. And again, I never said that blood pressure medication *causes* thyroid issues (or hypo/hyperthyroidism... if we're being professional)
Jerry Booth10 said:Youth offers no immunity. There was a case where a seventeen-year-old girl passed away while waiting for a doctor because she showed up feeling unwell, only for it to be discovered later that her blood pressure was dangerously high. It is the silent killer. It wreaks havoc on your kidneys and your heart. If you aren't consistent with your medication, you're looking at a potential heart attack or a stroke. Aside from the tinnitus, other symptoms can include hand tremors, seeing spots, or even nosebleeds.

As for me, I have a colleague who ended up with kidney issues just from taking blood pressure meds—so now she’s stuck adding those to her regimen, and in a few years, it’ll probably be even more pills.😕
Toilet water issues in Health ·
Maybe the trick is just grabbing some fruit—plums, for instance—and then following it up immediately with a big glass of water. If you hit the coffee right after that, it might just loosen things up enough to avoid any... messy splashing incidents.🤷
Toilet water issues in Health ·
When you’re sitting on the shell, you really ought to lean back a bit—just enough so that the "ball" hits the ceramic part of the shell first. That way, you don't have to worry about any "boneless" hits, and you'll avoid getting splashed in the process.
Maybe we should cut back on reading all these medical journals—otherwise, we're all going to end up turning into hypochondriacs before the week is out.☕
Karen Ortiz83 said:Every single time I check my blood pressure—which usually runs on the lower side of normal—my heart rate ends up being higher than my bottom number. For example, if I’m at 99 over 70, my pulse might be sitting at 80. Or if I'm at 120/80, my heart rate jumps to 93. A few doctors have actually asked me about this and wondered if I've been tracking it, but honestly, nobody has given me a straight answer.
What could this actually mean? Is there something specific I should be looking into?
Aside from that, I’d consider myself pretty healthy—no known heart issues or major illnesses. Plus, there isn't really any history of heart disease in my family...
At least three different people have expressed concern when I mentioned it, but they wouldn't really explain anything even after I told them it's always been this way. One doctor did mention something about a pre-infarction state, though. 😢
Does anyone have any thoughts or maybe a similar experience?

It feels a bit strange to me that a doctor would suggest someone is in a pre-infarction state based solely on a heart rate between 80 and 93.😕
Natural remedies for lowering cholesterol! in Health ·
analogseal39 said:I have come across several mentions of this topic across various sections of the forum, but perhaps we can establish a central hub here—provided the moderators don't decide to 🙂 close
it.

I recently acquired a recipe for lowering cholesterol that is remarkably straightforward. What makes it noteworthy is its accessibility; it is incredibly inexpensive, simple to prepare, and according to those who have tried it, highly effective. I commenced my own regimen yesterday, so we shall see how it unfolds.
  • Finely mince 5 lemons (6 would also suffice) and combine them together including the zest.
Using a garlic press, crush 30 cloves of garlic until they form a fine paste. Bring one liter of water to a boil, then add the minced lemon and the crushed garlic. Allow the mixture to
  • once reach a boil before removing it from the heat.
  • Once cooled, strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth (applying slight pressure to ensure maximum extraction) into a one or one-and-a-half-liter bottle.
  • Store the solution in the refrigerator once chilled.
  • Consume one small shot (approximately 0.3 to 0.5 dl) once daily (every single day) for a duration of three weeks.
  • Following this, take an eight-day break before repeating the three-week cycle.
  • If performed annually, your cholesterol levels should return to normal ranges.

For years, my cholesterol has hovered around 8 (with LDL near 6). Once I complete this initial three-week phase plus the subsequent steps, I intend to undergo blood work again to compare the results.

Interestingly, I used to feel quite unwell from consuming garlic—even just the scent—but this tonic is virtually imperceptible on the palate because the lemon neutralizes the flavor entirely. Therefore, anyone may consume it without the fear of unpleasant garlic breath.
Admittedly, there is a noticeable odor during the boiling process, though it is hardly unbearable.

Information regarding this method is widely available online, and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive, which is why I am happy to share the recipe with you all.
I will report back with my updated cholesterol numbers once my regimen is complete.

I drank this every morning and I could still taste the garlic a little bit, though personally, I found it quite tasty.👍

Honestly, you might as well just pay the fine right there on the spot—and double it while you're at it... Of course, everyone tries to wiggle out of it, but I’ve personally seen more than my fair share of cops driving around with their phones tucked into their ears, totally hands-free, acting like they're above the rules while they're busy writing me a ticket.😲
Flu symptoms in Health ·
Douglas Ramos2 said:Man, I’ve been hit by the worst flu ever. Every single inch of my body aches; I can barely even get out of bed. My lymph nodes in my neck are swollen and super sore, swallowing anything is pure torture, my fever is sitting around 101.3, I'm dizzy, and I keep waking up in the middle of the night from shivering and back pain....🤷..so, what actually counts as a "severe" case of the flu?
I usually pick up a flu bug every winter, but it's never felt this intense... especially the throat pain, which feels like someone is literally ripping my tonsils out..🤷...that doesn't feel quite typical for the flu to me...
How many of you have managed to catch the flu?
Do you guys go to the doctor for it?.. I usually don't, but now I'm seriously considering it because of how bad my throat is...
What are you all doing to treat yourselves?

Maybe it's mono, considering the swollen glands and the difficulty swallowing.

Fair enough.👍
