Nickname change (read first post!) in Forum Help! ·
Kevin Bishop22 has a username on Playtoy. It’s pretty obvious they’ve been around longer than I have—now I’m getting messages from people using handles I don't even recognize. Is there any way to link a new nickname to that specific account? If not, maybe something like Bea or something similar? Thanks.

Kevin Bishop22, once you settle on a new handle that stays close to the original, definitely reach out to us so we can fix it. You’ll need to come up with the name yourself, though.
Importing from China in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Look, you’re going to need an actual business entity for this—an LLC or a corporation, whatever. You also need the specific permits and certifications for those exact wires you're planning to import. Sure, some firm might offer to handle a "free" import for you as a favor, but let's be realistic—do you honestly think that much volume would fly under the radar without getting flagged?

I’m talking about swollen lymph nodes—actual lumps appearing around my head and the back of my neck—that hurt like hell! This isn't just some "drying out" issue...
Look, I use ammonia-free dyes without any trouble at all. 😉

The exact same thing started happening to me, too. Eventually, I just gave up and dyed my hair back to its natural dark blonde shade, and now I don't touch it with dye anymore. I just find myself constantly praying that I haven't already gone gray underneath, considering I've been coloring my hair religiously for about 12 years.

I have a quick question regarding customs—does anyone here actually know how this works? I just had a little package arrive from eBay, and today I got word from Customs demanding that I provide the actual invoice for the purchase. So, here’s the deal: the receipt shows the total was $90, which is roughly $150. My understanding is that they process the duties, send it to my local post office, and then I just settle the bill when I go to pick up the parcel. What I’m really wondering is: what kind of percentage are they taking off the top? And has anyone else actually dealt with them being strict about this lately? Thanks!

p.s. Actually, hold on... I just found the info I needed, so you can all stop worrying about me...🙂 Thanks!
@fadedpilot2/">@@fadedpilot2, everything you need is laid out right there on the very first page of this thread—I’m certainly not going to waste my time copying and pasting it all again here, so just go take a look! 😉
So, here’s the play: you head down there, ask for a shipping confirmation, fill it out, and then—this is the key part—you list the value as $27 (or whatever number you’ve decided on) before handing it over. Make sure the value written on the package itself matches that exact amount perfectly. We'll see how they react to that, won't we? Let us know what happens...🙂
Look, just go find a manager and tell them exactly what happened. If you don't want to deal with the drama right now, fine—but next time you drop off a package and they try that same nonsense, demand to speak to a supervisor immediately. You saw how smoothly I handled my shipment, didn't you? No issues at all. That’s how we all do it around here. Honestly, it’s the standard procedure at every single USPS branch in the country! You aren't reinventing the wheel or asking for anything out of the ordinary...🙂 I honestly cannot believe how unprofessional and downright rude they were.
Honestly, my local USPS clerks are absolute gems—seriously, they’re total lifesavers. They even go out of their way to hand me extra little slips for my certified mail and packages so I can just fill everything out at home instead of standing there like an idiot. They're absolute saints. They even complimented how neat my printed labels look when I stick them on... which, okay, thanks... but then I look at some of the other prima donnas walking through those doors and—ugh, honestly? It makes my blood boil.
I just got off the phone with a fellow forum member I’ve been doing business with—everything was going perfectly according to our agreement—but she ran into some absolute nonsense with the clerks at the local USPS branch. Apparently, she always sends everything via certified mail because she had no clue that shipping a standard package would actually be cheaper. I walked her through the right way to do it, she headed down to the post office, and what happened? They treated her like she was some kind of idiot. It’s painfully obvious they’re used to people overpaying for postage every single time, so now that she’s trying to be smart and save a few bucks, they’re making a fool out of her.
Long story short... she can give you the full rundown... but they basically told her not to come in there wasting their time, claiming she couldn't ship a package with a declared value under $1,000.00 😲! And get this—they still charged her over $30.00! I was honestly floored.
The thing is, the USPS literally publishes their rate sheet right on their website! If I were there in person, I’d march right back into that branch and give them a piece of my mind—maybe even shove that printed price list right in their faces! What total lowlifes! 😠
I mean, why not just have them send it via Greyhound? Has anyone even bothered to look into that possibility?

How on earth do you people actually trade stuff with a complete stranger??
Here’s the deal—we met through an online forum and want to swap phones, but neither of us wants to be the first one to ship our device into the void without any guarantee!
I suggested we swap IDs—you know, send photos of driver's licenses or some other official document—and then just meet up at a Greyhound station to hand off the packages.
Is there any other way to protect yourself??? I’ve already been burned once before, and let's just say it was a disaster... So, how would you handle this situation????

Well, I actually had one of those situations myself (and it turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant experience). We both basically operated on pure faith... This woman from the forum sent me her phone in its original box, and the second I received it, I popped my SIM card in, put my old phone in the box, and shipped it right back to her. 😁The catch was that I only owned that one phone, so we couldn't exactly ship them simultaneously—but she had enough trust in me to go first (thank you, girl! 😍), which allowed me to swap my card immediately. I still have it today, and honestly, I absolutely adore my little pink phone. 😁😍
I really hope you two can work something out! 👍
Does your mail carrier actually charge you $1.75 for home delivery? 🤷😕 Because mine had the nerve to try it yesterday. My husband picked up our package, and this guy charged him $1.75 without even a shred of authorization—no receipt, no paperwork, nothing! It was almost like he was expecting a tip 😁 right then and there.

Thanks to everyone for the advice, and please accept my apologies if I came off a bit high-strung or lashed out at you all prematurely 😁 To be honest, I was just incredibly frustrated this morning. It’s not like I’m one of those people who goes around blathering on every forum or picking fights with everyone—I’ve always just been here on Vogue, minding my own business and staying out of people's way. So, naturally, I was blindsided when someone actually tried to hijack my account 🤷😂
I've gone ahead and changed my password to something significantly more complex. But honestly? If they weren't even capable of cracking my previous, painfully simple one, I'm not losing any sleep over what happens next... 🤣
Thanks! 😍

Look, I’m not an idiot—I’m perfectly aware that Intel addresses can rotate, and I know some people use static ones too. And no, I haven’t been "forgetful" enough to mess this up five times myself, nor has anyone else in my household. So, let me be clear: that wasn't my address. At least, not yesterday or today. You don't need to go playing the "know-it-all" right out of the gate by mocking my post with those condescending little comments! You don't have to do anything at all; I was simply venting my frustration this morning for the reasons I already laid out. Thanks for the hospitality, really!

So, I went to log in this morning only to be greeted by this incredibly awkward message stating I'd entered the wrong password five times and had been locked out. Thank God they didn't actually manage to get in. I mean, really—who would even want my account? Am I actually that interesting? As if!
Here’s the email I got:
